  • Justin, I hate KZhead algorithm for not recommending enough your channel. I found yours only because of my first FPV drone, Avata 2. I watch travel vlogs mostly and my dream is to start something like this. Its discouraging that a channel as good as yours isn’t recommended as it should. I guess keep doing this but its painfully slow how KZhead is working now. Unfair considering your content is far better than many! I love the location, I love these exotic places! Paradise on earth and amazing people!

    • Hey! I'm glad you managed to find my channel! Yeah KZhead growth is painfully slow but I'm just hoping that if I continue to produce videos that people enjoy and find value in, that in the end, it'll all be worth it. I'm taking a big risk at the moment trying to pursue this full time. I just want to make the best content that I can, help peple and have fun along the way. Thanks for the kind words of support, really means a lot! Yeah these places are absolutely beautiful. A stark contrast to the concrete jungle most of us are used to. Thanks mate! 😃

Your editing skills are excellent. Gives me something to aim to achieve in my own videos. Never entertained the thought of buying an Avarta 2 as I live in Australia and we can't use them here. I'm glad you like it, and it gives you some inspiration to create! Yeah, Australia is a funny one. Funny how they can sell a product that they technically say is illegal to use 🤔 I know lots of fpv guys from Australia, and I also flew FPV whilst there. As long as you're sensible and doing things safely, it's generally okay, and you won't get any bother. But it's a shame that they make it hard to enjoy your hobby. Hope things change and you can experience FPV! Thanks for your kind words 😃

  • An excellent and concise review. I`ve watched a few of your videos now and subscribed to your channel. With the Avata2, I think DJI has listened and fixed the main complaints of the original. Definitely appreciating the reduced noise levels, secure battery fitment and image quality. I was surprised about the omission of the goggles eyepiece cover. Can`t long exposure to blight sunlight damage the display? I would also like to see a package that includes the remote controller 3 with the fly more combo instead of the motion controller. I`ve been flying stabilised camera drones for a couple years now and I`d really like to make the leap to FPV, this seems like the perfect drone to fit the bill.

    @ColSam458@ColSam45826 күн бұрын
    • Thank you! I feel it necessary to share my thoughts in a concise but compete fashion. I also agree. The original avata was their first attempt at a cinewhoop, and this is a much improved aircaft in almost every way. It's less durable, yes, but lighter, and it flies much better, which is more important in my eyes. Yeah, I was shocked to open it up and find no lens protector. Very strange that they have not made one for the new goggles. Yeah, it would be nice, but I don't think it'll happen to be honest. I can see why they package it the way they do. It gives the new user a much easier learning curve into FPV. I just hope that future FPV drones will be compatible with the FPV3 radio. This is a very good choice to get into FPV. Manual flying takes some practice with any machine, but having the pause button will save a lot of people a lot of crashes. Another great option is to get a micro ready to fly kit like the emax tinyhawk freestyle 3. That thing is almost indestructible and will also teach you everything you need to know about manual flying if crashing is a concern. But the Avata is also a great first step into FPV because you can go step by step.

  • This is the most balanced review I've seen yet, good job! On the sound comparison you should have mentioned you're using a full sized GoPro, it would be quieter with O3 recording or a naked GoPro. I do agree however that it should be compared to something with a GoPro because the recording is just quite a bit better than O3. One negative for me is how it wobbles more than it probably should in wind, but maybe you haven't experienced it as much or just find it normal for whoops? For removing the sticks, I found it much easier to try to "turn" them on their sides than pulling at their top.

    @Kai-P@Kai-P26 күн бұрын
    • Hey! Yeah I just wanted to share exactly what I found. It's a great little cinewhoop. Yeah, I could've mentioned it but In reality, I never fly it without the Gopro because the O3 image is really not that good unless the lighting is perfect. So that's the config that it's flown in. Yeah I notice the wobble but It's not a major thing for me, all whoops wobble, some more than others so I'm not too concerned about it. The flight characteristics have otherwise been pretty impressive. If you push it too far it will get out of shape, but I've had whoops that couldn't dive without tumbling like crazy. So as this one goes, it's pretty good. Thanks for that tip with the sticks, so try and roll them out instead?

I cut the foam pad that came with the goggles so it will slide under the foam of the rubber light guard. Works like a charm! I'm going to put a piece of Velcro on the battery pad and the cut piece of pad so that they'll stick together and stay on my head while I'm wearing the goggles. This way I don't lose the pad/lens protectors.

Good thing that you can use the button on the goggles to do things as well, because trying to adjust things with the motion controller is still a bit hit and miss for me lol. Overall I think it’s absolutely a great drone, but then I’m not a freestyle expert, in fact I’m fairly average at manual mode, but I get by lol. Great review and very concise in your opinion of its ability. Cheers from Australia and have a great day mate.

    @Greedy1@Greedy125 күн бұрын
    • Yes, i've flown it rather friskily and at no point did i wish it had more power. It's got a nicely balanced powertrain, so you can do some light acro moves and recover from split-s and dive manouevres without any issue. It's not going to do hardcore freestyle, but I have no intention of doing that, and it's not what it was designed for 😃

  • I got it as my first drone for my photography, it's a great drone from my experience, although, I tested range and I don't know whether it was because I had default settings, when the drone reached a certain point, it lost signal and landed in a very awkward place. I walked closer, tried to take off, it got stuck and then upside down. After that, I used the mode to flip it over, the drone wouldn't take off as it was at an angle. I only discovered when I got back home about the _'find my drone'_ feature using the mobile phone app, managed to locate it using the coordinates and the map, which is a lifesaver. I'm a bit confused though because, from where I was at maybole beach, I flew the drone down to Culzean Country Park and that's where it lost signal, doesn't add up as I can't say that was anywhere near close to 13km. Nonetheless, I had fun flying it about in relatively dullish light as the sun was setting at that beach the following day wh I collected it. I think the only technique I've yet to master is the camera being pointed at a subject and rotating around it, something I'm going to need to practice. Great video nonetheless, and an interesting take.

    @scottcjmckelviephotography@scottcjmckelviephotography25 күн бұрын
    • Thats awesome. MAybe you had a similar thing happen to me where the drone didn't maintain the RTH altitude and then landed somewhere elsee. Yeah 13km is just marketing speak. It's technically capable of this but you would need perfect conditions and you would need to be in a perfectly uncongested signal environment. Yep the best way to get used to that is practice. You'll get the hang of it in no time! Thank you! 😃

The Avata is more durable, and repairable by the user. It's really not a design for long range fpv, so I'm fine with the 03 system, which itself is miles ahead of most other systems for fpv.

  • At 10:05 I'm not sure it's true what you're saying here. "If you loose video signal you also loose the RC signal." Both are indicated in the goggles and the video signal always goes first so you still have control over the drone. I had a situation where I flew behind a building and the video was lost but I kept flying the drone pure on feeling and it came out fine the other side and then the video was restored. I still had a connection with the drone all the time.

    @EdEditz@EdEditz20 күн бұрын
    • There are situations where you can lose video and still have a radio signal. I've experienced this as well. But I was being more generalised as most of the time you will lose both. In your situation, it's possible that you lost connection, but the drone didn't failsafe before it came out the other side. There are a few seconds between losing connection and the drone going into failsafe. It is a strange one, though. They must be transmitting both via different antennas, and I've noticed that in some orientations, the drone will drop video signal a lit but not radio, and vice versa. Personally, I like the redundancy of a separate radio link, but this is what we've got, and it works fine for the most part. It's good to hear about your experience!

    • @@JustinBainbridgeYT Aah okay so if the video connection is lost for a longer time it will kick into failsafe mode. I didn't know that. Learned something today. Thanks for clearing that up. 😎👍👍

      @EdEditz@EdEditz20 күн бұрын
    • @EdEditz Yeah, that's it! The drone will continue to fly in its current orientation for a couple of seconds until failsafe activates. Hopefully, before anything goes wrong. Then the drone will stop, retrace its flight path for 50m, and then perform RTH

    @HideshiIzu@HideshiIzu25 күн бұрын
    • Hi, sorry to hear that! 😞 the Avata 2 will still do the death roll, but it takes a lot more to make it happen. It's much more stable and way less prone to experience the yaw tumble.

  • So you made a few videos...had it like a week..and now you are trying to sell it and do an honest review. it's made of plastic...costs 1000 bucks with one battery and a wii remote that doesn't let you fly as you really should.. has REMOTE ID so good luck flying anywhere worth it. will break in most crashes do to plastic parts. if you really want to fly drones build your own...it's not hard these days and makes you look like a king while flying... plus 99% of the AVATA 2 users will quit after a little while when they get tired of FPV....they took the easy way in, and now most if not all will be done with it before long. Bias reviews are what this is....because you want to sell it, so you will say anything to make it look better than it is in order to make money off of people.

    • Hey! I'm not trying to sell anything here, just a dude trying to give his opinion on a new product. Any links are just to help people find the products. I don't have any affiliate links here, and I'm trying to give a real-world review. Yes, it's plastic. Yes, it's expensive, but it's got a lot of features that we just don't get on home build quads without a lot of headaches, and that's worth something to me and other people. Remote ID is not something we really have a choice over. It's a law that manufacturers have to abide by, and there's not a whole lot we can do about that. Some will quit, some will continue and get a real 5 inch. Then get even more hooked. I mean, that happens with a lot of things, you try it, maybe you like it, maybe not. But to say this is a biased review to get sales is baffling. I bought it myself, made this to try and help other make an informed choice if it's for them, or not. This video has no way of generating me any money other than ad revenue. I'm just an honest guy trying to help people out. Thanks for your input, but I think you are assuming some things that just aren't true.

    • @@JustinBainbridgeYT Well said. I love to tinker with stuff and modify it and make planes fly better. I remember having a Blade MCX2, little coaxial heli for in the house. It had a fly bar, I would cut parts of the weights of to make it a little more unstable so you could trow it to get it to fly forward at twice the speed. But when it comes to my first time flying FPV, I did not want to risk having so sodder and fuck up stuff I just ordered. Because it's hard to order stuff where I live. No, I wanted something that could fly out of the box. I had just bought the 03 air unit and was trying to get goggles v2 or 2 when the avata showed up on Amazon. I knew that this is exactly what I had been looking for. I eventually did find somebody to sell it locally here and within 2 weeks from it being released I was flying it. the out of the box experience for somebody knew to FPV is amazing. 12 years ago I decided to wait before doing FPV ... to have some fun first flying rc planes normally. And that was a good decisions, the fidelity you get today, you did not have this 12 years ago. Sure low latency analog latency is cool. BUt I just want to cruise and look at stuff and feel like a bird on weed, flying relaxed in the sky with no worries.

I only fly with motion controller and head tracking. I do have the controller 3 but first I want to fly low risk to get my money worth of fun. Then I will start flying manual. The drone is amazing. kzhead.info/sun/qsidl5yQp4uCeKc/bejne.html I'm learning the controls of the RC before I take it outside. But I think flying it inside like I did might help. Outside will be a lot easier. Only about 15 crashes to catch that one decent run I put up in my apartment. Outside more room for error. Great damn hobby.
