  • Thanks for the wonderful video. I grew up on a wheat farm in Idaho...many, many yrs ago. In those days the combines loaded into 2-ton trucks and we hauled the grain into storage warehouses. Loading on the go could be a challenge for this farm girl! These videos bring back so, so many happy, fond and just fun memories. Farm safe. Enjoy the lifestyle! Nothing better than growing up on a ranch/farm.

  • Couldn't the combine be offloaded as it's harvesting? My other question is what is the purpose of the red vehicle with the offloading spout. Couldn't any other trailer take the load and "cut out the middle man?" I've played Farm Simulator programs well over a thousand hours and questioned the above there too. Saw you offloading at the same time at the end of the video. Just wondered why you didn't do it every time to keep the combine working constantly.

    @Diantane22@Diantane222 жыл бұрын
    • I’m not sure about offloading, the x9 is an absolute unit and should have plenty of power to do that. The purpose of the red thing (grain cart or auger wagon depending where you’re from) is to keep everything moving. Instead of the combine waiting for a truck to come back and unload, they can keep moving and have a load ready as soon as the truck returns. In my experience they can increase efficiency by like 50%. Hope that answers questions

      @Beyonder8335@Beyonder8335 Жыл бұрын
    • There are multiple reasons to have an augur wagon - grain cart running instead of loading always into a regular trailer. For one to always keep the grain cart on the field with the combine and reduce combin harvester wait time. For this the grain cart then unloads into tipper trailers or high capacity roadside trucks with trailers instead of the grain cart having to drive to an unload point possibly far away. Especially trucks but also trailer trains would not be well equipped to maneuver on the field. It also allows to keep the weight of gigantic full trailers to be kept of the field as the grain cart can empty to another trailer in between unloading the harvester and the grain carts wheels are usually large to spread the weight instead of being a compromise for road driving. In regards why the cart (or another trailer) isnt constantly driving besides the combine like during the first unload during the video: Not every position on the field allows for an unloader to drive to the left of the harvester. For instance during the first Headlands or some parts of the in field pattern. Either because the ground to the left off the harvester is not on the field thus not allowed to be driven on, no suitable to be driven on or not harvested yet - and driving over the crop with a trailer would reduce harvest amount. As shown in the video during unload 2 the Harvester then can drive into an unload position by harvesting off the regular path further into the field so the offloading trailer has room to its left where he was driving before. During unload 1 the harvester drives further into the field witha lifted header for the same purpose, though this can not be accomplised by harvesters witha lot smaller headers, as they dont clear as wide a path. Where the harvesting pattern allows it the grain cart ideally drives to offload the harvester during harvesting so it does not become full and has to stop as seen during the unload towards the end of the video.

  • The first I bought was a JD 7700 with a 22 ft header. I bought the combine for $37,000. in 1974. It could harvest wheat that was half the yield a little slower. I think the X9 is $800.000. The wheat price was $3.20 the last brought 6.25 in 2021 I contracted 2022 for $10.70 but will have very little to sell. I did not know about the price so did not know to plant more irrigated. The non irrigated failed.

  • Im from the UK,I grew up on the outskirts of the city so was surrounded by countryside, In the summer holidays I used to sit and watch the Combines in the fields near my house, especially at dusk on a warm summer evening, the air smelled of fresh cut wheat and the dust used to linger in air! Such a nostalgic memory! Loved watching them through the night with all the lights on! 🇬🇧

  • It’s a massive machine to begin with, but there are apparently companies that manufacture aftermarket power-folding grain tank extenders to make them even bigger. Up to 530 bushels of capacity for the X9 1100 and up to 490 bushels for the X9 1000 with these extenders installed.
