In this action packed video I am out at Crossroad Farms in west central Indiana as they harvest their 2022 wheat crop, bale and move straw, work up the harvested wheat field and plant soybeans. Its a long video but they had several things going on while I was here and I decided to put it all into one long video.
*I never realized the complexity of farming until I played Farm Simulator 22. Your hard work and dedication are truly commendable. Thank you for feeding the world with your efforts!*
You need a lot of knowledge to operate agricultural machinery, especially harvesters or balers, you need to know how they work inside to operate them, You literally need to know how to take them apart and put them back together, It's not like driving a car.
If you were really as hardworking as that machine, that would be amazing, but here you are nothing
I’ll 2nd that Bro… the game is unreal eh! Pun intended 😂😂 As I’m using my super person strength to move stuck equipment 😂
It is incredible to see everything that I saw in farm simulator irl, just amazing.
That's what I was thinking 😂
This is all controlled by GPS, even the turns are controlled by GPS from what I understand nowadays, I am told it is for seeding purposes saves money in overlap. I am an old man these things weren’t around when I was a farmer, we used to have a cedar with discs and then fertilizer and then spray. It has become more complicated to become easier. Like most everything.
It doesn't turn by itself it only goes forward by itself that's it

Not even close.. Combine goes end to end on gps.. tractors with disk and planters too.. Everything else a man is controlling!
@@microsoilenhancersinspirey5750 the point I think I’m making is, it is very different from my youth to now… There are much different practices and extensive scientific as well as technological advances that make it seem “to ME” that I’m out of touch..I hope that clears up some misunderstanding..
Just sent a message to my husband. We’re both reared on farms, long ago. When I was 14 I “bucked bales” by hand…about 65/70 # each. I’m 80, now, but still a farm girl at heart. Thank you for these wonderful videos. You speak clearly so as to not need CC. ❤❤❤
Grandad had a farm since the 1930s and through to the day he died he worked it. This is ASMR for me.
Your video is a great reminder of the value of patience and perseverance. It takes a lot of time and effort to grow and harvest melons and oranges, but the end result is so worth it. And the fact that you're able to make a living by selling them at the market is even more impressive. Keep up the great work!
Thank you for all the work you do to get our food. You are feeding the USA.
Best part of video was watching bales being picked up and then stacked. Never seen how this is done before. You have some of best videos on u tube.
Mike, My two sons have worked for Crossroad farms for 10 plus years. They are in charge of a large part of operation. Crossroad farms have paid them well. So proud of sons David and Kyle! Great video, what a beautiful day to do it also!
Would you know how one could find a job working there?? My dream is to work in farming id even do a period without pay until i have learned the basics
@@elraton4737You could just Google them and call say Keith Clute sent you there
Grew up on a grain and cattle farm in the '50's. Holy cow! Appreciate the video work. To the critics, I repeat the old saying, "Don't criticize the farmer with your mouth full."
Absolutely awesome to see all this magnificent equipment. It makes you realize that without it people would be starving. Thank you farmers and the whole farming industry!
LOL! How has humanity survived without such equipment so far? Most countries still don't such equipment and some of them are far bigger agricultural producers than the US.
@@ccdanro he was saying farmers in general not just farmers with these machines
@@ccdanro there were far less people before industrialisation
The technology used in these machines is truly impressive. They are truly working at another level.
love the noise of all the machines but a bailer beats them all. Spent a number of seasons 40 years ago pulling a bailer, loved it!!!
This is quite the operation. Not only top notch equipment but the logistics to keep everything moving and productive. Yes Mike, the sound of the bailer becomes hypnotic in a way. Those X9's are serious harvesters!! Awesome video Mike😁👌🏻.
One of the best farming videos i have ever seen. Really well done. God bless you all!!!
Mike. I love your videos. Also, I agree with you about the sound of the baler. It sounds like a slow drum beat where we expect it to build up with a song.
this is by far one of the best videos I ever watched. John Deere must be proud, LOL. I was really impressed wit the tractor used to pick up the bales of straw.
The machines spitting out the compacted straw reminds me of being constipated 😂.
Wow, you are creative in work and mastery, my friend. And this tractor is very strong 👍👌
Great video and story Mike, much appreciated all the way from Northern Ireland. John Deere baler goes, clunk clunk clip, clunk clunk clip........we will, we will , rock you, clunk clunk clip, we will , we will, ROCK YOU!
This is one of the best farming videos I've ever seen. It shows what a big business farming has become. $millions in equipment, countless hours of maintenance to keep it operational and ready to go. Having the people ready to go in an operation like this. I can't even imagine how much fuel was needed to operate all this equipment. All this and the planning to pull it off and the farmer is still at the mercy of the weather. Luckily he had great weather for this. How many days did this video cover?
Maybe 4-5 hr time spand All going on at same time
Mike my friend this marcus how fast was he running our class 11 big X9-1100 combine and u said the other class 10 X9-1000 had a hydraulic problem wit the rotorary screen fan that shouldn't be a big problem there local john deere dealership will have them back up in running we just had this same problem on one our big class 11 X9-1100 combines for a customer harvesting corn 🌽 here in west Texas
I agree 👍 wit u our big baler does have rhythm to it lol 😆
In my 31 years of farming as a heavy equipment farmhand operator running combines and tractors I have never ran a tractor and baler I been working for john deere 18 years now as a equipment setup technician setting up large Ag to lawn and garden equipment setup
I'd hate to see what that farmer spent diesel my lord the cost
The co. Ordination between every operation carried out is so awsome... The machinery used is so modern and powerful.. The technology in farming machinery is developing real fast these days.. Good to see such modern machinery in practical use❤
wow, a vacation to work on such a farm would be something.
Dude, that John deere baler was hauling ass. Holy moly.
Just, wow. Lived on a farm/ranch in Utah in the 70's and 80's and yeah, that's way more impressive than anything we ever had access to. Good to see wheat was planted and more importantly, harvested. This has been a challenging year for the entire world.
The farmers are always working hard every day to solve the difficulties and I believe that 2022 will still be a bountiful harvest.
Your video makes me want to quit my office job in the city and go back to my hometown to work as a farmer
I sure would love working for that outfit. Thanks for sharing. God bless all the farmers globally. They feed the world and are taken for granted.
Great video Mike , my cousin works a farm in Northern Ireland but not nearly as large as Crossroads. As a teen I spent a week on my Uncle William's farm . Hours sitting on the side wall of the tractor , rowing turning hay and baling off course. But my favorite thing was bringing the cows into town along the public road and milking twice a day. Love the action..... with huge amounts of work being done with American technology. Expert operators and top class drone work, thanks!
Grew up in the 70 & 80s in Ireland on 20 acre farm with 1/4 of it for corn and for bedding . It was the highlight of my year when the harvest started and the combine arrived . Brilliant video and a massive set up . Would love to be involved in this type of operation but this video will have to do . Thanks Mike 👍🏻
My first visit to your channel and really enjoyed my time spent... Back in the 70's, I drove fork lift in a fast turn over warehouse setting. Loading and unloading box cars and trucks.... every minute counted. I can really appreciate the fine skills of the the implement and tractor drivers. It was a joy to watch them work. Thanks for posting and you have a new subscriber.... Russ
Oh, how technology has changed and improved. Great video. Love the summer sky.
I love Mike's comments about a John Deere baler. Growing up with a JD baler back in the 60's, we always talked about the rhythmic, repetitive serenade of it. Yes, it adds to its character.
There’s me thinking, 'Wow, that’s the way to move bales' and then, right at the end, there’s two of them! Awesome😂😂😂
That baler sounds like something you would hear back in the turn of the century in an old factory
the operators are such a pure❤ talent.... very experienced
What a time to be alive!!! Just to see all of these highly mechanized operations in one great video is a dream come true. So many people today do not realize the amount of work and planning that goes into making all this happen to feed us all at efficiency's like this. A great example of why the rest of the world sees the US as the standard to strive for in farming. Another great video Mike - thanks for posting. All the best and God Bless. 🙏❤🇺🇸
The sound of that John Deere baler is like the intro/beat to ‘We Will Rock You’ by Queen! And now I can’t un-hear it!
I thouroghly enjoyed this Mike. Farming today sure is a lot different to what it was when my dad was farming when I was a kid. I am a long, long way away from the open fields these days, but videos's such as these and especially this long one is just priceless. As Amos mentioned below, farming is still such a gamble. The payoff's can be huge and so can be the losses,
My how times have changed! Great job shooting this multi-faceted operation. Just amazing what short work the right equipment and determined farmers can make of harvesting and planting a mammoth field. My new favorite operation is picking up bales and stacking them into a small mountain.
Growing up farming in the 70s and 80s, it is insane how big the equipment has gotten…
And expensive!
And driven by GPS. Sit in the seat and do well not much.
Testimony to the reality that agriculture as a business is getting bigger and small time farming is disappearing except as a hobby.

Mike, me acabo de ver 51:24 minutos completos, Gracias por crear este maravilloso contenido. Saludos desde la Pampa Argentina.
God bless you farmers, wow the equipment amazies me.🇺🇲👍💯
This is the highest resolution that I have ever seen for Farming Simulator
Awesome video as always, Mike! Thank you for your great entertainment.
The bailing trailor I just saw has left me in awe today. Such a smart machine
I have been a fan for years. Beautiful Country side and of course Farm equipment. I love looking at the different farmland absolutely Beautiful .
Mike your videos are awesome Really well produced and clear to the eye thanks again Mike 👍 🏴
Well these guys have got it going on.Great crops, farm, and, equipment, and great job by you.Looks like the wind blown wheat was no problem for the combines.Stay safe out there and Gob bless you all!
a beautiful operation. thanks for the video.
I drove semi, a 390 Pete for the 2013 season with a six combine custom harvest crew. Only one farm baled the wheat straw. They were double chopping soy too. That farm was in Kansas.
Mike I really really enjoyed this long video I have no idea how much wheat they harvested in this video the amount straw they had baled but it was alot I loved the sound of the combines running as well as that big johndeere square baler I loved that sound of that beer in action as well as the planting of the beans .thank you for this video Mike and the hard work that you put into them .
I do custom fieldwork for Crossroad Farms. Dennis and Mark are two of the greatest people I know. Farming 40,000 acres isnt for everyone yet this operation makes it look so simple.
Ditto
This is big the biggest farm in germany is about 15.000 Hecktar or 37,000 acres normally the are really smaller and a small farm starts with 247 acres depending on an region
Well, with Crossroad Farms raking in $14M in government subsidies it's not to hard to outbid the neighbor and live luxuriously....it's just that the unsolicited business venture costs the taxpayer a lot of slave labor, no return at all and former farming neighbors being forced to live in crowded cities instead of living their American dream.....all with the government blessings for Big Ag.
@switzerblitzer2701 that was over a 26 year period. Average 57,000 per year.
Awesome video Mike! I'm amazed at the size of the grain cart. You and Jason from BTP are my favorites. You both put so much detail in these videos. Thank you!
They both are top tier

I agree , the John Deere baler has a nice rhythmic sound ! Great drone footage 👍🏻
thank you so much my mute brain injured son ,40 YRS OLD NOW loved it, so did I was wonderful
Some fantastic footage here Mike! Great work as always capturing it all. Crossroad, is one big operation with some amazing machines for sure.
This is like a beautifully-choreographed "Dance of the Titans!" Enjoyed watching this very much, thanks!

What an action packed video!! That Brent grain cart is massive looking!! Love all John Deere equipment they are using!! Thanks again Mike!! 🇺🇸🇺🇸
Wow! What a great video. And what an outstanding crop of wheat. Here in Southern MO we've had a tenth of an inch of rain sense you shot this. Sure hope they've gotten more than that on those beans.
Mike I’ve watched several of your videos. Enjoyed all of them but this one ranks up there with the best .
Beautiful video. Close look at the combine harvesters and other equipment used in the harvest. Versatile and amazingly filmed! 👍❤
Thanks,
@@farmhandmike Thank you for such great videos, Mike.
What I would love more than anything would be a multi-part video, all shot in the same place but at different times of the year, that simply shows all the steps. Each time a machine passes over the ground, it's included in the video, and narration explains what's going on and why. There's a million perfectly-good videos of Step X or Step Z, but nothing showing "one of each", if you will.
Love your video. Saturday night with Canadian whisky and coke 80F inside the house and outside, sunset in July, and watching the harvest/your harvest. Thank you from Calgary.
Great action-packed video with a lot of wonderful pictures! I'd say one of your best so far! 😃 Thanks a lot for this masterpiece! 😊👍🏻
That operation is amazing! Great footage, as always, Mike. Love the background music, too.
That bale pick up and stacker was amazing. Great video Mike! ps, that rhythm of that JD baler would put me to sleep
Great video very action packed that has to take a lot of work to do all of that, beautiful acreage 👍
The Header on that John Deere is Massive. 🏴
At 12:45 to 13:50 or so that grain cart was less than half full and filled that semi with barely a noticeable drop in the grain! That cart is absolutely huge!
I’ve lived in a place where there’s 3 farms within 5 miles and I’ve never been interested… until a few weeks ago when I became addicted to FS22! 😂😂😂 Just seen this type of YT content for the future est time and I gotta take my hat off to you Mike! Awesome footage & quality of production Thank you 👍🏻
I like the windmills in the background and none of them are turning. Certainly worth the cost and definitely the future of energy production.
sure wish my dad was still with us to see this.he would be shouting praise the lord.
So nice, great job 👍 am also a small farmer from india,
Thanks for the video. Watching technology is fascinating.
Another fantastic video Mike. I don’t understand why you don’t have more subscribers, as the variety you show is great.
Fantastic video really enjoyed watching your videos keep up the great work always looking forward to seeing your next video soon thanks again and have a great day
that shit was awesome dude, truly my dream job it to be working out there with those tractors
Huge grain cart, thanks for sharing Mike
That hi speed disk is just a 'toy' behind that 9RX. The tractor should be pulling another 20 feet of disk. Ya man, the wide span implements switch me on-! And Mike, I agree with the posters below, that has got to be one of the best videos that youve shot. THANKS. Keep em comin.
the best farm videos
One of your best video.. thank you 🙏
Impressive. Good operators with good equipment!
The alignment of many has given the American farmer wonderful engineering and technology to FEED THIS NATION AND THE WORLD.... Just ahead are New technologies to give more abundant yields and greater efficiencies to harvest those crops
Buen video Ricardo, seguí subiendo siempre los esperamos con mi familia saludos para vos y para Enzo que buen compañero!!
I love your videos Mike. I hope you will make many more in the future!
Dino de Laurentis, eat your heart out, Mike , you have made a superb video, once again ! 🏴🇬🇧🤘
Wow Mike you did a phenomenal job with this video,as always, man that is how you get it done in the fields pretty impressive yield great job guys
Music adds something to your videos. And the sounds of the equipment running also was really a nice addition to the video.
Absolutely great video… such impressive equipment!
Wow, impressive operation going on here. Lots of money there, good to see how far equipment and technology has come. Its videos like this that represent the modern American Farmer. Sad we are dealing with alot of drought through out the world and whats going on politically with farmers in other countries. America First!
Now thts how you give a proper agricultural farming video. Great work 🌪
A very slick operation, but I reckon if after the balers have gone around the first time, they went over the field again with the rake, they would get even more bales. There seems to be a lot of straw left on the ground. Noticed some temporary storage silos in the middle of one the fields as well, common practice here in Oz due to the enormous distances to the main elevators. Great video, and thanks for sharing.
Ther was no straw left cut clear to ground Those bins are too small they dont us them 2million bu storage they have 5 mile away
Who ever invented that hay bale picking up machine deserves a medal. 🙂.
Those boys are serious about farming! They have the equipment to get the jobs done. 🚜
Hey,you’ve got some of the best machinery out there,it makes it look a lot easier with all the newer machines, cool videos,I worked on a few farms in Australia back in the day doing wheat and we had Steiger tractors and John Deere harvesters doing just over 20,000 acres and with the right gear it certainly made it a lot easier.
What a field! If the title of this video said Australia, I wouldn’t have doubted it lol Watching those autostackers work is awesome. Thanks for the long video, this one must have taken awhile to edit!
video rất hay những chiếc xe rất đẹp tuyệt vời
Great video Frank, I just love these wheat picking Machines And that seed sinker.
