  • If someone is wondering how it ended. According do Wikipedia: In March 2021, Niami's LLC, Crestlloyd, defaulted on US$165 million in debt related to the property, causing it to enter receivership.[12] A foreclosure sale scheduled for October 2021 was halted when Crestlloyd filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.[13] In July 2021, the 3.8-acre property was placed in court-ordered receivership by Los Angeles County Superior Court. Ted Lanes of Lanes Management was appointed as receiver.[14] Lanes oversaw completion of the property and secured a certificate of occupancy. Once valued at US$500 million, "The One" was formally listed for sale in January 2022 at an asking price of US$295 million.[15] It did not receive an offer and on March 4, 2022, The property was sold at auction for US$127 million

  • it's amazing how every real estate stroy sounds exactly the same: early small successes leads to taking loans that are supposed to finance bigger, riskier projects. still bigger loans are taken based on previous projects that are there to pay off previous loans....and at some point, you're leveraged out. you're loans returns and future commitments are bigger than anything you can actually sell. and that's it.

At some point, someone pitched the idea of changing the world with his house, while likely intoxicated. Once you start adding on his divorce/s, various drugs, along with bad friends and business partners, how this happened becomes clear. As such, the delusion has entrenched itself in his head and it is the only thing he can believe in to stop himself from breaking down.

He did more than I ever did, so I can’t say anything bad about the guy. I hope he never gives up. Most self made billionaires won’t admit that they filed for bankruptcy more than once, before they made it big. Godspeed man.

  • Let's be honest here... Nile probably underestimated the cost of "The One". At some point he realized that the house is not going to sell, because the 5 people that can afford it are not interested, and he was way too in to back off. So he rebranded this whole thing as world changing PPV platform with crypto and a bunch of others buzz words in order to try to sell it to some companies or media that might have an interest in that. This whole thing is just a promo campaign.

  • If I had the money, and I have seriously considered this, I would be doing a few things. First would be to buy The One from Nile. Lowball it from 500 million to 50 million. The One would be divided onto three thirds, with each third being divided based on its value. The First Third, the most valuable, is to be neatly demolished and in its place constructed a McDonald's restaurant. No expense is to be spared in its construction, however its food and service is to be *expressively* low quality. The Second Third is to have all its doors removed and kept open to the public. No maintainance is to be performed in this third. No prosecution is to be pursued in cases of vandalism. Lower classes are to be encouraged to frequent this third. The last third is to be kept within locked doors and cleaned twice a day by a reduced staff. Nobody except the staff is to be allowed within this section. No alterations to the original are to be allowed, except for one thing. Over every horizontal surface such as the floor, counter tops, etc, a 3x4 inch portrait of Nile is to be placed 26 centimeters away from another portrait with a 1mm tolerance, creating a Cartesian grid within this section when seen from above. Each portrait is to be rotated once every 21 days so that it is placed perpendicular to the local sunrise and sunset. Behind each portrait, the following phrase is to be hand written by Nile: _"Forgive me, Father, for this sin I have commited."_ The resulting One is to be maintained in this way for one hundred years after being fully adapted. Upon expiry, its deed is to be burned, and the explosives are to be detonated at exactly 1:27 PM without notice to any person located within it. The cycle is then to be judged complete, and a twenty-seven foot tall Styrofoam statue of Nile is to be erected at the geometric centroid of the area affected by the explosion. No birds are to be allowed within a 100 foot radius of the statue.
