This is interesting. I never liked typing on C64, even back in the day. I was spoiled by Atari 800, which was just better for typing.
This is so amazing! I only have an SX-64 so can't do much with this, but I hope it inspires more projects!
The BlingBox™ takes the Blingboard64 main board and adds a new board with a low profile case that is usable with the SX-64 and C128D, besides working with any USB compatible computer. I will be making information available via my Discord shortly.
Cool product, badly needed. Are the keys Pad printed directly with ink, laser etched and color filled, Dye Sublimated (for better wear than Pad printed), or double shot injected which is generally regarded as the highest quality?
This looks way better than the thumbnail. I first thought you've put together an emulator and C64-layout keys into the housing of a modern keyboard.
looks nice!
Good luck!!
Got it!
Is It compatibile suppa control colour pannel with mechboard LED version?
No. The board is custom for the Blingboard64 and of course the Blingboard64 keycaps won't work on the Mechboard.
Are you able to put the top cover back on?
Well of course, the keyboard replaces the original.
@@CBMSTUFF In the video it shows you typing on the new one, but it looks like the commodore top cover is off. Will this keyboard allow for the top cover to fit back on?
By the way, love this keyboard, just curious if the top cover fits back over the new keyboard.
@@youtube-ventura Yes, of course - it replaces the original keyboard. It mounts to the top half of the case for the breadbin version, or sits in the bottom half of the case with the C64C.
Is there gonna be an option to not have the stupid leds? I dont want my c64 to look like a fruity gaming laptop. But i do like the idea of a keyboard that doesn't feel like typing on cardboard.
You can likely turn them off (or not turn them on).
@@nickthaskater tell that to my godamn desktop tower's stupid fans. No way to shut them off thru software and i tried de soldering the leds and it made the fan stop too. Ended up spray painting them black. That's why i ask so im not stuck with a c64 with obnoxious lgbt lights.
@@Blunko_McSqwuntley the video says that the lights are customizable. Worst case scenario you make them all white.
Yes, you can turn them off completely.
does this work with the 128?
No, this is for a C64. However, I am working on a case for this keyboard that would become just a low-profile keyboard that can be used with the SX-64 and C128D (not the flat C128) as well as any USB compatible computer system.
