    • @dooman230 yep, but globalization exist to a lower degree already in the past when for instance the Ottoman Empire (now Turkey) was also heavily influenced by the other Europeans (the more modern the times the more). And chocolate is an example of that. European explorers and colonist picked up from the Nahuatl (Mexico) the concrete stuff and word 'xocolatl' and exported it to the rest of the world. And this rest of the world now mostly decided to 'imitate' this word rather then making up own words. Making up own words happened sometimes with other imports like the 'potato'. Here the original name (Inkas) was something like 'papa' but the look and shape reminded Europeans much more to existing vegetables and fruits AND this also in different ways depending on the region which is why most named it after already known terms (usually based on a combination of 'earth/terrae/ground' + 'apple') .you had of course already back then a copy paste from more influential cultures (or trade routes). 'Tomato' is also similar to 'Chocolate' (also a Nahuatl term 'Tomatl''). But here you had some imitating the original while others also named it like something they knew (usually a combination with 'apple' - apple has often to be seen as a more general term for something which fits more or less) - but later almost everyone re-synced on variations of 'Tomate'. One also has to keep in mind that most vegetable today was refined by Europeans and got re-imported also to the countries of its origin. Mexico has modern European tomatoes, not the old ones. The old ones often were more yellowish and smaller in size which is also the reason why it was in Europe often seen as possible toxis (due to similarities to some toxic european plants with such fruits) and why often the germ 'golden apples' was used. Today almost every Tomato is red (and if not it looks more like still not 'ready') ...

We should adapt kızıl as the official word to say red cause the word girl said "kırmızı" is a loanword from Persian that's why it's similar to the word "crimson". • In Greek language the words are: - 1. Supermarket - Soupermarket (Σούπερμάρκετ) or Iperagora (Υπεραγορά). it is the exact transcription in modern Greek through Koine Greeek words Hyper + agora -> Hyperagora. - 2. Park - Parko (Πάρκο). Direct loanword from French - parc and Italian - parco, originally from medieval latin parcus. - 3. Chocolate - Sokolata (Σοκολάτα). Direct loanword from French - chocolat and Italian - cioccolata, originally from Nahuatl language - chocolatl < xococ (bitter) + atl(water). - 4. Red - Kokkino (Κόκκινο). From kokkos (κόκκος) "grain, seed" and specially from grains of holly, which were used to make red dyes. Displaced earlier Ancient Greek ἐρυθρός (eruthrós), meaning red as well. - 5. Elevator - Asanser (Ασανσέρ) or Anelkistiras (Ανελκυστήρας). First word is the exact loanword from French ascenseur < ascension < Latin ascensum. Second word is the Greek equivalent from ancient Greek verb > anelkuo (pull up). - 6. Cloud - Synnefo (Σύννεφο). From From Byzantine Greek σύννεφο (súnnepho), from Koine Greek σύννεφος (súnnephos), from Ancient Greek συν- (sun-) + νέφος (néphos). Ancient Greek nephos is cognates with Latin nebula, Proto-Slavic *nebo (“heaven, sky”). Nefeli is a female modern Greek name that comes from nephos. - 7. Sun - Ilios ( Ήλιος). From Ancient Greek (Helios). - 8. Snow - Chioni (Χιόνι). From Byzantine Greek (χιόνι) > from Koine Greek (χιόνιον), diminutive of Ancient Greek (χίων), correlated with (χειμών - Cheimon) "Winter" in Ancient Greek. Ch is pronounced as ch in German "Ich".

The Aristocrats started to speak and act like Europeans (especially like french). Then it affected the whole nation and as a result Turkish acquires today many words from European origin.

Until roman empire invaded them (this is why english got latin words). Then Norman from french invaded england. The result is classical english that were popularize by Shakespeare in 14th century. What funny thing is germanic people actually came from turkey region. They migrate there between 5000 - 3000 years ago. Turkey and Mongolian basically cousin but the reason why turkey doesn't looks like mongol because turkey mixed with Arab, Persian and balkan people and this result modern turkey. The aryan race Theory got debunk, german under nazi party assumed they came from Persian because of germanic roots language is same as Persian but the truth is turkey are the one Who brought that language to europe under mesopotamia era. I listen to modern turkey language and its sound like Persian and hindi but the words is not the same because turkey rid them under kemal attaturk so this lost connection is ignore by nazi back then The Word caucasian came from caucasus (a Mountain range connection Asia and europe) where Turkic-mongol tribe live.

  • - French, Italian, Spanish and Portuguese belong to the Romance branch, English and German belong to the Germanic branch. Both branches belong to the Indo-European language family. Meanwhile, Turkish is a Turkic language and the language families of Korean and Chinese are respectively Koreanic and Sino-Tibetan. - The Brazilian Julia wondered why some words in Turkish are quite similar to those in Italian. The reason is in history, France and Turkey were allies. Meanwhile, French was a lingua franca, like English today. Therefore, some vocabulary entered from French to Turkish. The Egypt campaign of Napoleon Bonaparte created a great influx of French to Turkish as Egypt was a part of the Ottoman Empire. Meanwhile, French and Italian share about 90% percent of vocabulary. Therefore, Turkish and Italian have some similarities. - Probably, there is a question why “chocolate” is the similar among languages. Well, it is due to the origin of the word. After discovering the Americas, Spaniards had interactions with aboriginal Central Americans. They had a beverage which was made of cacao bean. They called this beverage “xocolatl”, including “xocol” meaning “bitter” and “atl” meaning “water”. Spanish entered this word and Spaniards popularized the beverage to Europe. And because of European colonialism, “xocolatl” became globally popular.
