The day I need a girl to be a trout fishing guide is the day I should give it up! She did get you on little "trewoot"! My wife will out fish both of you "trewoot" catchers! 😆😆
You are a moron
You optimize to the purest degree what a douchebag is. Get a life. She'd fish circles around you
Some of the coolest people I have ever met and fished with are girl guides. Heck I married one and I am rather certain she could out fish and out row you any day. I can tell by your comment you are anything but cool and rather an insecure and insignificant little man.
Hey, Chris Fenton, come to Montana and I will introduce you to a few women, guides and enthusiasts, that will fish circles around you! Please. Come.
Hi Chris, why does a female guide make a difference in how you my friend can or can’t catch fish. I would invite you to fish with my female trout bums and guides and maybe it can open your eyes to something that you may not appreciate as an angler.
Amazing fishery! Thanks for sharing your excellent videography with us.
Awesome video! Thanks for sharing this with us! I'm so looking forward to going to Wyoming for some fishing this late spring!! 👍👍😎
What a great video!! This would be my dream fly fishing trip. Thanks
Great job Mark! Always wanted to fish up there. Now I want to even more!
Fished there 30 years ago...I’m headed back this summer! Great video, thank you.
What a wonderful video! Mark, your love for this sport is apparent! It's great to see an honest platonic relationship for a change! More men need to be like you! Alyssa is a knowledgeable angler and you can tell that she loves her work! This is the first video of yours and I subscribed! I have never been fly fishing, but it is definitely on my list. Great job!
Very nice guide service, excellent video!
I love the show. It's always inspiring. Thanks for sharing in your adventures.
I've hopper dropper fished this river twice in July on my birthday and it's as good as this video portrays. Had a blast! I recommend it to any fly fishing nut.
Thanks for adding to my bucket list!
WOW! U can't wait to get out there this summer!
Great video 👍. And yes, awesome scenery aswell 😲
That was awesome great show fantastic fishery’s
I love watching these videos, they give me a virtual experience. Would probably be a once in a lifetime opportunity for me.
Mark is so fun to watch great host
Just getting into the sport and I just moved to the area. What a blessing
Great day on the water. Thanks for sharing
Awesome Reminds me of the Beverhead & Big Hole back in the 80's 90's. Thank
Awesome video Im gonna have to put this place on my bucket list
("I love your enthusiasm, but just mellow out just a little bit, just a little bit.") - great line that I've been on both sides of :)
Yeah I caught that also... I wouldn't consider it a great line. A -2% off the tip.
@@arthurskim7898 yeah, guides shouldn't try and help the client out, ie. Telling someone to Mello out a bit, so they can have a bit more success hooking and fighting a fish, they should just shower them with compliments, even when they aren't warranted? Her comment wasn't meant to beat up on the host, rather to help them out.
beautiful places and the guide is amazing.... thanks for sharing
Thanks for the kind words Garza... even a terrible day on the bighorn is a pretty awesome day! (or so Ive heard - the bighorn has always performed for us!) Mark
Looks like a blast for sure
What a great trip
Nice vídeo!!...🤗 from Patagonia Argentina!!
Very nice video! Thanks for sharing!
beautiful video thank you
Wow what a great video Hates of to the lady working the boat and how can you not like the Orvis h3d great job
Love being a Wyoming resident. Hunting & fishing are fantastic
At this rate, I may become a Wyoming resident as well!!! haha!!! Mark
@@newflyfisher ive stayed on here since retiring from the USAF. So now maybe I'll finally get the chance this year to go fish the Miracle Mile
Thank you from Wa State. Great fishing.
Awesome fishing👍🤙🇺🇸
Been to that fly shop. Love fishing the Bighorns. Tongue River and Porcupine Creek
I have no idea why anyone would give this video a thumbs down? I want to fish there! Great job fisher people!!
Too much exposure
PETA nerds, most likely.
Oh how I would love to go there. Great video!!!
Watching from Casper Wyoming.
I want to move there, beautiful place
Hopper/dropper is my go to on any new water followed by stripping a streamer on a sink tip line. Even on a hopper/dropper I’d be willing to bet 80% of the takes are sub-surface. The guide did a really good job positioning the boat and putting the author on fish. Good work there.
Does it work as good in still water?
Most of a Trouts diet IS subsurfce I believe it's either 60 or 80 percent last I heard from some documentary I don't remember the name of.
Fun video. Thanks
great channel 👍 and nice videos
perfect film nice fish
Awesome!
I'm going out to Utah this year and seriously cannot wait for the opportunities there. I've been tying trout flies for that upcoming trip and am real excited.
Middle Provo... Where you coming from and where you heading to in UT?
@@edp1801 I'm from the Detroit suburbs in Michigan, and am going out to Kaysville which is near Salt Lake City. Planning on going to the Weber river there but I also hope to fish the Provo if my family would be willing to go down there.
Me an my brother are going to Montana an Wyoming to Yellowstone first week of September this year for fishing an camping the back country. Seeing this video I’m trying to convince him to come back a month later to get y’all to guide us, when a women does things it’s amazingly respectful an quite sexy lol no harm intended I just want to learn how to be a good fly fisherman. Thanks for sharing this idk what everyone else is talking about here
great vid
wow looking good
This was a great video. I might hit up this guide service
You should!
If i ever get to live in america i would love to live i Wyoming It is so nice there
Editing nicely done! Music selection is great. But the aerial footage is amazing and she is a gorgeous, dreamed woman!!!!!! The privileged lifestyle!
I would love to have a go at it out there. 🎣😎🤗
I fished the Laramie River in 2007. Caught the only trout in the whole snow swollen river in July.
reminds me of when i lived in Laramie and Rawlins, fishing the north platte and the Laramie river :')
"Hi five hug!" :) Nice brown!
Had to cross the Bighorns from Sheridan to get the Bighorn!
Awesome channel ! I just subscribed
welcome aboard!
Nice Video - Regards....
I'd love to make a trip out there.
I have to go to Wyoming now! I was on Depuy Spring Creek on April 22, 2019. It was an absolutely amazing day. Many bows and a pigbow that was 25” my daughter caught that one. It was her first time as well.
That is awesome, thanks for sharing!
The New Fly Fisher thank you for the wonderful videos! It’s a treat, being stuck inside.
Well can't blame him for being a bit exited being in a boat with such a great lady.
That sure looks like the Bighorn below Yellowtail Dam which is actually in Montana. Also heard that due to high snow pack the warm water is coming over the top of the dam thus increasing the water temperatures and as a result, the trout population is down. We had a place on the Bighorn for 20 years. Still remember those 50 fish days on dry flies.
It’s Thermopolis
The Black Hills is only 3 to 4 hours for me but 6 is doable!!
Great video...was this river accessible to the public? Wyoming landowners own the river bottom preventing access.
Always best to hire a guide.
Most guides have access to the private land they are floating over. Considering the guide service is out of Thermop, I’m guessing they have plenty of private access to anchor and wade fish
This is probably one of my top fly fishing areas in the west. You have the big horn, the wind river ( same river different section and rules), the lake/res, all the amazing feeder streams on the west side of the res. Then hope on over to the N.Platte near Casper or Saratoga (The Encampment is just mind blowing During the Drake hatch). I'd say the fish maybe the strongest healthiest s=fish Ion the lower 48. I'm shooting for a serious fall session this year!
Could you Rod&Reel it up there? I only say this because fly fishing is alien to me. (Amateurish speaking lol!)Great video ML&Aloha Your Boy Kekoa🎣🌈🏕🤙🏽
Hey my man just curious how you guys are going about setting anchor and getting out of the boat the land owners in Wyoming unfortunately own the river bottoms do guids get different treatment than the rest of us? Awesome video and I absolutely love wyoming I worked there in the oil field for five years and plan on lord willing owning property there one day.
Good Question Jeremy. We were only able to do that in that stretch as it was BLM land. All others are owned. Mark
That’s why I’m incredibly jealous of Montana’s water right laws compared to ours. There’s some amazing spots in Sheridan county but you have to have drift nearly all of them.
California has some great trout streams too but depending on which river you fish it can be difficult getting around especially up in the canyons.
I live in San Jose Ca and I gotta drive out of town for some decent fishing though it's not impossible to catch Trout or bass or Carp or even Salmon in the middle of downtown San Jose.
Actually the trout I'm not entirely sure about though I know they stock a lake here in town "Almaden Lake" though it's pressured.
So how was the Moss floating in the river? I dislike the tons of moss in the river from the Boysen Reservoir
call me old fashioned, but i like how Bill and Collin could...cast....
I haven’t been following the topic for a few years. Is whirling disease a problem in these fisheries?
No it seems to have gone away from what we understand
Yet one more Thermopolis Big Horn River cutthroat. All made possible by our great guide, Neal from Owl Creek Flies. To be honest here, the trout in my profile photo wasn't the biggest trout of the day having lost that one when it hide under the boat and I palmed the reel at the wrong time, shook it's head and...drat!
Wyo is underrated as a prime fishery. Better than Montana in my opinion and I have fished both. Sad to see so many rainbow over cutthroat. Remember that Rainbows, Browns and Brook Trout were all introduced to the area. Actually Browns are European. Anyway nice video and show as always. Any spots to wade in that river? I'd love to fish it on my own.
A. McRea is whirling disease an issue?
Nah, Wyoming access is pathetic compared to Montana's! Fix it WYO!
what weight rod and lines are you sporting there ?
they used five and six weight rods, nine foot length
Dream land...:-)
I love how short the intro was
Thanks, all new shows will have that on KZhead. Appreciate your feedback
Guide "They're moving into shallower and shallower water" Dude "The fish"? Me "No, the cows"
Haha... GREAT Catch Bathtub Jim! As soon as I said it I wanted to facepalm! M
@@newflyfisher loved the video, and love fly fishing Wyoming. 😉
Bathtub_Jim holy shit I actually just wrote the exact same thing without reading this.. how did we both pick cows as the punchline?
Cranefly larvae! Bighorn isn't exactly near Sheridan. Other side of the mountains.
What part of Canada are you from?
We are all from Ontario
I have a bird dog. Any opportunity for cast and blast in Sheridan area?
We believe they do, check with the fly shop in Sheridan, sure they could help set something up
Awesome video but why out of season, the rush of fall fly fishing is long over.....
It was the only time we had available plus we wanted to highlight the fact good fishing could be had in the fall. We are returning to Wyoming this season to do more shows through the year. Standby for my great videos!
@@newflyfisher ok I understand, I love watching the show, very informative. I sit at my tying desk while I let the show play.
Cold Schmold. I learned to fly fish in Ohio. It’s cold 8 months of the year. Great video.
It's relative to where you live but sure is nice to have a year-round fishery like they do there
The New Fly Fisher i enjoy the Mad. My son in law moved to Columbus with my daughter from Orange County California. Being a good son in law he will fish with me. Even with snow on the banks of the Mad
SWEEETTTT
All the fish got blown out by a couple years of really high damn flows (17,18). Best plan your trip for somewhere else.
Michael, thanks for your input but Mark experienced some really good fishing there in the fall of 2018. Perhaps there was some damage done to the trout population but overall it seems pretty solid.
@@newflyfisher fishing is still great, but the quantity is depleted. Also, you know, fishing here is terrible, look elsewhere. Wink wink
13.25 Nooooo, you jinxed it before you landed it!!!
Its fantastic- does Alyssa have a sister cause.... Yeah
What's with the holding the rod above your head when you catch a fish? are you sure your a fly fisherman?
High-fiving and yacking before the fish is in..."oh, it came off"...wow
3000 trout per barrel?....whoa would be nice
They’re moving into shallow water “The fish are?” No... the cows. Of course the fish
haha I laughed when he said that also
I spent a couple weeks last year in Wyoming camping and fishing, I found the people there to be smug and unwelcoming.
what a pity! that in a river so famous it actually hosts all rainbow trout coming from farms. greetings from italy giovanni
Not the case Giovanni, the hatchery fish don't live long - most are naturally reproducing! It's a fantastic river.
Sorry I'm working with fish for sixty years. I have no doubt that the river is fantastic!. But the video clearly shows that the fish caught they come from farms. perhaps in the stretch of river in question an immision was made of adult fish.Greetings from Marche region, Italy
👍👍
Catch a real rainbow on the McCloud...maybe you might notice a difference... your catching planted fish!
Are you positive you are catching “native” fish on the McCloud?
They were originally planted but they reproduce on their own so a fair amount of those fish are wild and have never seen the inside of a planter tank
A beautiful woman carrying you fishing life don't get any better
I am one of those retirees leaving California. Once Covid eases i will be on my way to Sheridan to look at houses
Stay where you are
Infamous: "well known for some bad quality or deed." For example, "an infamous war criminal"
The US has its fair share of problems at the moment but my god is it a beautiful country.
Is there ANY river creek in MT that DOESNT require a damn boat to access? How come we never see fishermen/women on smaller creeks in Western US? I dont LIKE trout fishing from a boat.
Hi Dennis, funny you ask, we have a DIY and guided walk and wade show coming from Sheridan County this season on The New Fly Fisher.. so stay tuned, it's coming to WFN and KZhead. Mark
Are you kidding? MT fishing is a mix of wade and boat - you are sadly mistaken if that is what you think.....but--your loss....
Didn't even make it to any fishing footage.. too much background
Please, use sunscreen next time. Your face is roasted!! Great episode:)
In October 🤔🤔
Sorry the salmon are decimated in your state, only a million dams, sport and commercial fishing put a stop to that real quick. I'd move there if it wasn't for the salmon.
The bighorn is nowhere near Sheridan
