IN the book , this character Clarence is named Da-shi. But the show not take place in China(only certain scenes), because that various characters were changed in names. But Benedict Wong as Da-shi/Clarence is a excellent cast. Excited to the show. I love the trilogy of books.

@@lengxiaohua I’ve read the books, in English and in Chinese. Dialogue was not the highlight in either language. I’m halfway through the Netflix series, and I saw good and bad things. Definitely not as terrible as Chinese netizens are making it out to be though.
@@lengxiaohua and yes I’ve watched the Tencent version. While it was faithful to the book, I would say it’s an example of “how not to do a book adaptation”. Three Body Problem is not Harry Potter, simply being faithful to the book does not make an interesting TV series.

Anyone know how far this show goes into the series? I read the first book. Is this the whole book? Half? More?
Well based on episode titles they’re doing the show chronologically so stuff from all 3 books will be in the first season. But timeline wise it’ll be all of the first book and the beginning of the second.

The same writers maked the first four seasons. BUT the Three body problem trilogy is complete. Not defending the 2 or the Game of Thrones finale, but that scifi saga is complete and don´t have unfinished end to the two writers ruin.

@twinsstyle2509 I saw the first two episodes at Alamo drafthouse early they were fantastic. This show is going to be something special I think. Just the 2 episodes I saw I have never seen any sci-fi film or show as unique and ambitious as what I saw. I'm shocked I expected it to be just ok but what I saw was absolutely fantastic and the show is a visual feast for the eyes

You'd be surprise to know that the Chinese 3 body company wanted a diverse cast for the international version, since they already have the Tencent Chinese version.
The books mostly focus on things happening in China. There were scientists getting knocked off all over the world, which is mentioned in the first book, so I don't see a problem with this particular part.
The Boring makers of Game of Thrones made another Scifi Boring series "3 Body problem" Time wasted Boring 🥱 Experience, Watch 3 Episode Dropout. So it was Sleep, there is some emotional and Not interesting and exciting depth in the character of the story.👎
