What did you guys think of this one? Yay or Nay?
Think ile go watch it ,and get back to you.
Meh
Nay!
please do Twilight zone episodes
Hek nay!
I hate this open ending. The movie was overall good but that ending gave me no closure and now I'm stressed.
atilah williams i think basically shes gonna sacrifice herself in order to save her brother and friend
IKR, sooooo annnoying, I couldn't sleep (anxious AF)
ugh me too and im so mad. they should’ve just showed the rest smh 😤
I just finished watching the movie
They should’ve left it alone and never gone back at the end and just end the story after her brother sacrificed himself... or you know... NOT CUT OFF AND LEAVE US HANGING LIKE THAT!! like what sane person does that?
I never been more irritated from a cliffhanger like whyyyyyyyyyy
I’m saying
On my block was worse
Noodles4 Life it wasn’t That bad
Prince_Taryn you smoking crack now!
Dude I was fully triggered just watched it 👿
CJ made things worst throughout the whole movie.
😂😂😂😂😂I was like chill beee but nah he was on 1😂😂😂.damn cj why you so stubborn 😕
Yup with the slushies
Tico World you’ve never watched DBZ then
Think she had anything to do with her father death?👀
Yessssss!!!! Omg! For her to be a super genius she made the most dumbest choices. Her brother told her specifically that she needs to listen more. I truly believe if she didn't throw those slushies the very first time and just let things happen the way they were supposed to then I def think her brother wouldn't have gotten shot.
In the end, she may be going to sacrifice herself instead of the other two. The way she said I love you to Sebastian before her last jump sounded like she was saying goodbye. She can just take the bullets for her bro. So she’ll just poof! The end
That's exactly what she did. That's why the movie ended. She can't exist in the future if she died in the past. So in the end she basically faded out.
I think you got it
@@johnniejackson3154 finally someone got it.
So you're saying her future self sacrificed herself
This is exactly what I was thinking... none of that open ending bullshit. She cannot exist in the future if she died in the past. This was indeed an ending if anything.
If she went back in time to prevent the slushies being thrown or fight in the bodega her brother wouldn't have to leave the party early thus getting shot.
Lakishia that wasn’t the reason her brother left the party. In the movie her ex never even went to the party and her brother still got shot.
Not quite. Note she has jumped back to the 4th of July, the date of the reported cop shooting. She is not trying to save her brother. She is trying to stop the first cop shooting instead.
Lakishia that’s exactly what I thought when watching this
Lakisha you're right. Had she just walked out the store instead of beefin, her brother wouldn't have had a problem with him and leave the bbq when the lame dude showed up
@@jademitchell9483 her ex did show up to the party.
Moral of the story a time machine cant even save a black man from being killed by police or his own kind
damn son, aint you right
That's what I understood from the movie also.
Actually the moral of the story is not to mess with time travel. CJ's ex only went to the party because his arm was broken because of chasing CJ into the street when she threw her slushie on him for revenge. In the movie her brother first got shot when leaving the party to cool off because Jared and him had an argument. CJ ruined everything from the start because of her attitude lol.
On gawd
But I wanna make a time menchine
My guess, she saved her brother and Sebastien but time corrected again causing her own death instead.
Yea
I agree
Where there is death, there will always be death. (MIB)
Which doesn’t make sense because then Sebastien would just go back in time to save her. Smh
@@iAdden but if time to was to repeat again they would be in the same exact spot where they finally would go so who would get shot if they continue to save someone someone's going to get shot so in this case if he saves her to see it's just going to repeat over and over again with someone getting shot
Her brother died as a result of her first time travel...she got her ex's arm broken. And he was the reason her brother left the bbq early...
king Jess so she needed to stop her past self from throwing the second slushy
Exactly king James! And all she had to do was time travel to the 1St jump, and that's it. Because according to the movie law, her previous jumps reset because of the circuit board each time she jumps.
She needed to just jump erasing the first jump and do nothing.
Exactly, i was hoping she would realize
No. Remember when they were running through the park and her ex got stopped by the people at the park, her brother still left.
Wouldve been better if they made the movie into a series of episodes, especially because of the ending.
I agree
right it should have been a show
I honestly thought it was a show at first glance
I agree
When it ended I thought it was a series 😭😭😭
Ending Explained: She goes back in time again, punches her brother in the face, she runs away, he chases her before the cops show up, her brother loses her trail, she goes back to the future, everyone's alive. The End
Except for dennis
Ah naw not Dennis
Joker's Wife, but cheating on him with Jade West whos Dennis again
Dennis dies , cycle begins..
dennis was a cool dude, i think he'll follow cj's brother
I liked the movie, but was upset that it didn't have an ending
The ending is meant for the audience to have deeper thoughts into what the movie is actually telling. This easily could have been written to have a happily ever after... but that’s not life... that’s not often the reality for life in a urban black community. 1) Show love to those with you now because tomorrow isn’t promised (arguments with brother who had good intentions but never expressed appreciation... A friend who obviously means much more but you never gain the courage to express feelings until it’s too late) 2) terrible events like these won’t ever stop, and there’s no changing it...even with a time machine terrible things will continue to happen all around us 3) if we don’t learn to cope with the past we will suffer with those painful events/memories for the rest of our lives. (Stuck in a space time continuum in our minds essentially) I’m sure more can be drawn but they left it up to the audience to decide what will resonate. I had a friend who lost her father in a robbery +20 years ago. She literally can’t let it go to the point that she’s losing time and progress in the present day and future because of this terrible event in her past. I have no idea the pain she’s dealing with but I hope she and others like her will one day be able to move on & enjoy the moments with those still here.
Your comment is beautifully haunting. Very true
!!!!!!
I realised this while thinking about it as well. In 2020, BLM protests are still happening and Police Brutality is still a problem. Something will need to change first before CJ can stop running.
Yeah Black people aren't allowed to have happy endings. Even in movies where every body else can escape reality we can't. Our pain is more profitable. Such bull shit.
Very well and very beautifully said. I respect you for looking deeper and seeing those very real and resonant messages. You’re totally right, well, except for if we are hopeful, we can believe that if enough of us make an effort for change, then we can achieve it. But that’s yet to be seen.
The ending really opens up numerous possibilities and what happens in the end. - Either she sacrifices herself and her Brother lives. - She fails and her brother still dies. - Both survive - Both are killed I believe those might be the possible endings.
Well duh. What else would happen lmfao.
Void O'brien It’s called a theory mate, no one knows what the ending is so it could be any one of those.
@@foxywoxy0w068 exactly. like you didnt make any theory. you literally just listed the only possible endings. like nothing else can happen except for one of those.
Its a curse. She mess with time travel now she stock in the continuum of trying to change the past.
@@leaholiver9418 not really it wouldn't be if she would sacrifice herself though is Sebastian went to go back in time and save her they would repeat the same scene over and over again so technically you're right
It started out ok..but it got deeper . I can live with this ending .it was surprisingly a good movie .. I recommend it👍.
Don’t recommend. Save yourself
@@haroldgonzalez4316 I agree. It's trash propaganda.
@uck You propaganda????
Nethier can I
Agreed, really good movie 🙂
Most frustrating movie EVER!! I really wish i could get that hour and a half back since I was happier before i watched it.
Marcia Laboo the movie was good just the ending
Choi Hyojinx No actually it is an Open Ending....director confirms this
@@saiyan-lord4714 so what happened
The ending had me a little mad maybe a part 2 ? It was a good movie though .
It was a good movie👌🏾
CJ: ahhhh shit, here we go again
King_zombie101 lmao
Underrated comment lmao
The ending for me is she’s gonna keep doing it, and where death is will always be death so until she can save both of them she’ll keep going back.
Is she does save both then that means that she sacrificed herself
This was time as it was meant to be- she never really changed anything... If you listen to the original eye witness they said Calvin pulled something out of his pocket.. which is what he did to save Sebastian when CJ jumped again and tried to save Sebastian and Calvin- maybe CJ jumped more times than she is aware of 🤯
Thats shat scres me about time travel. There's always going to be a never ending loop
Whoa shoot and the eye witness was his homeboy. Yoooo that’s crazy, I’m a year late but still
Tf do ya'll mean? The eye witness said that Calvin was unarmed and saw it from a birds-eye view. It's the police that said Calvin pulled something out of his pocket. You can check it yourself to confirm.
Damn
That showed you can’t change reality
This was a short film I watched on Showtime, I believe, last year. In that one it doesn't drag out as long but near the end, CJ sacrifices herself to save her brother and her friend but it doesn't really end there because after attending CJ's funeral Sebastian makes plans to go back to save CJ. In other words, it is a neverending story. Painful to watch them go back and forth trying to save Calvin but it's a much shorter version of the story.
What’s it cost?
Oh wow would love to see thatv
One major flaw. The spot they time travel on is the spot they appear in in the past. Why didnt they just time travel to the Malcolm X street straight up.
Because there idiots
Kyle Edgecomb they can’t jump from there because it is public and they can’t risk being seen proofing out of nowhere. They only jumped in front of that guy because he was the crazy guy. No one would believe him.
Zack Night they would have been idiots if they did jump on Malcolm X street
@@greenhornet8262 They could've done it in the middle of the night. They could've done in a alley way close to the street. She could've not thrown the slushi at her ex, which in result wouldn't cause her ex arm to break, the ex would've gone to the party, which would cause her brother to leave the party early, and not die.
Kyle Edgecomb t
One thing that bothered me in the movie was that after her best friend was killed when they travelled back in time which meant her brother didn't die why did he find a funeral program of himself? Why would that even exist if he hadn't died?
For 90% of the film I just wanted to punch CJ in the nose
You and me both. She was just beyond annoying.
I was like, pick a lane. Super intelligent, logical science type or hyper emotional teen.
YES. I want to be in mc's shoes, but her sheer lack of thought for tact, consequences, care, etc. Such a turn off. At not one point did I feel like she was redeemable. I can't get behind a character who does what they want without a hint of acknowledging the consequences. Like literally, "I'm doing it." "Uh, maybe you shouldn't--" "Ok, it's happening! -- Oh, whups! My bad. K, it's happening again!"
Thats what happens when writters and directors create "Modern Feminist" character. Its mean, rude, selfish, victimized, loud, irritating, gloating, careless, stubborn, and overall unbearable. I feel bad for the future....
@@saiyan-lord4714 you just described the latest Ghostbusters
So thinking back, her brother was killed in the alternate timeline that was created when she returned from throwing the slushy..and then every timeline afterwards. There's nothing to suggest her brother was going to die in the original timeline had she never jumped in the first place. That being said, she should jump back to just before they used the time machine and destroy it, hence killing off all the different timeline variations since there wasn't a time machine to begin with..now (and I know this depends on what version of time travel rules we're applying..)
This is a really good reflection! I didn't even think about it that way. But if she destroys the time machine...how will she get back to the future/return home? I agree with you maybe if she left the machine alone to begin with- none of it would have never happened. Or would it? Genius concept by the creators!
@@astoldbyvictoria She would already be home back in the original timeline if she jumps back to right before she first used it successfully, maybe even before the first failed attempt..and then destroy it. One thing this movie really didn't take into account well was butterfly effect, probably purposely..because the tiniest insignificant change should've caused totally different variations of what was going on when she kept jumping..but thats a whole nother story. But you're right, was Calvin's destiny to die that day inevitable...
The best probable solution would be for her to go back to before they left the school, remove the things that she took from the lab and they would have never had the equipment to time travel in the first place. No jumps, no conflicts, no timing where her brother ends up in the wrong place at the wrong time. They might still solve time travel but it would be at a later time..
Don't you guys get it! When they did the last jump and Calvin sacrificed his life by standing up in front of the cops for Sebastian and ended up being killed they failed and went back. When Sebastian refused to jump back again at the end she went by herself of course. But when she jumped back instead she stood up and got shot so she could save Sebastian and her brother Calvin.
Calvin sacrificing himself should of made it clear to her that it was no saving him. It was either one or the other and Calvin would of rather gotten killed then have her best friend get killed, but she was to stubborn to realize that you can’t cheat death and possibly save the both of them without getting herself killed while trying to do so.
In that case I think they both would have dies if that had happen because he would have freaked out and stood up if she had been shot
Here’s the main problem. If the funeral announcement changes with time, and that’s why it changes to Sebastian’s face in front of Calvin at the end, then it would’ve also had Sebastian on it in the timeline where he died instead of Calvin and Calvin wouldn’t have found it with his own face on it.
I actually like the idea of an open ending in a time travel film. I would have liked to have seen ever-darkening outcomes, like every time she travels, not only must time correct itself, but it must also fix the wounds and ripples from both the time travel AND there constantly being past and future versions of the same people running around in the same place, causing worse and worse outcomes with each time jump, but with CJ stubbornly thinking that she can fix everything, until finally, her friend has to actually kill her to keep her from making a decision that would spark an entire race riot, resulting in hundreds of deaths.
I'd watch the fuck out of that!
That would be a good ending
Great Movie. I’m thinking Spike Lee wanted us to decide what the ending would be.
Kasha Brown I think she just keeps going back like an obsession.
They should create a one season series so the audience can have closure. I was utterly annoyed. In my mind CJ went back saved her brother and they all lived, went to the expo, and won the grand prize. The last thing in the movie shows CJ putting up the time travel equipment in the box never to be used again and the movie goes off. At the end of the credits, it reads in loving memory of those we lost to police brutality. The End
If she can time travel why are they picking a time/ place where he would get shot? Why did she not simply go back in time meet him at the cook out and just stalled him or convince him to go with her somewhere. This way he wouldnt get shot in that random alley. youre probably have to be the worst time traveler if u say "we or I'm to late" like whats the point of you having the ability of time travel anyway then. A time traveler which is to late.. makes no sense at all.
I remember Quantum Leap ending without a definite resolution
I was so annoyed with that cliffhanger And they didn’t even make ‘See you yesterday 2’ Like ugh 😑
Here’s how I interpreted it: Cj realized that someone was gonna have to die in the end, but she didn’t want Sebastian or Calvin to go. So she sacrificed herself
*see you yesterday* (uses back to the future time travel concept) *avengers endgame*: Am i a joke to you?
It follows the back to the furture time travel logic. Not endgames
NEXTBIGTEEN INNOVATIONS *the rat 🐀 from Avengers: Endgame* “You know if you needed some help then you could have called me. Hell, I helped Ant Man escape the Quantum Realm.”
I mean, Michael j fox was in the movie doe 🤷🏽
Thank you so much for reviewing this!! I enjoyed. 😊 I feel like the movie did have an ending (all thought bad) her getting caught up in between her best friend and brother dying and her stubbornness fueling that. Instead of accepting fate it shows us how important it is to accept certain things. Idk
You have a point. Wasn't the "traditional" ending I guess?
Great analysis/&dissection👏🏿🎞
I think it's not an open ending for the audience, I think its just making room for the possibility of a sequel.
Catches07 right. The movie is straight up telling us that this is an homage to Back to the future which means this is a trilogy.
According to the guy who made movie, he has no interest in doing a sequel and intentionally made the movie end that way.
Doesnt mean someone else wont pick up a sequel to continue the story
I fuckin hope so I'm left mad pissed and heartbroken
@@AnbuPrincess wtf
I really enjoyed this show. Extremely thought-provoking. As a rule, I've stayed away from anything involving Spike Lee since I heard him say "I'm black. Black people can't be racist"... But after watching this, I see his obvious talent. I'll keep an opened mind....
I love this open ending. I enjoy that they left it ambiguous, because it's really just one big cautionary tale about how you can't change the past. You can't hang onto the loss of a loved one, because it'll just haunt you. You've got to move on. She WILL keep going through time to save her brother, and she'll stay stubborn, because she's a lesson of what NOT to do. I feel like it's a more effective to not have a happy ending.
ADVENTURE PLANET PICTURES well said. And I strongly agree
I loved the ending. It's open to interpretation and allows the view to transcend just the story and think about the thematic questions raised. I interpret the ending to be that one must never stop fighting to correct what they perceive as an injustice. At the same time, if we don't learn from the present or the future, the missteps will continue.
People sometimes over think things. She gave herself in the end. But people will over think that.
Umm she put the alarm to 10 minutes so that indicated she wanted to save her brother
I actually wish I hadn't seen this movie, cause I was really getting into it and was really enjoying it, but then got so mad by the end that I actually had a big moan at my girlfriend about it. I get the whole "you get to decide ending", but that still isn't an ending. This was not clever like the ending of Inception. That was different. This irritated more than any other movie I've seen in a long time.
If she didn't travel back in time the first time and didn't fight with her ex her brother would've never confronted him he would have more than likely not have left the party and then leave early and die due to being at the wrong place and wrong time
Exactly
This movie was terrible, did no one really notice at the end of the movie her brother owned an iPhone... in one of the scenes she calls the police... how about instead of calling the police why not call her dam brother and ask him to meet her anywhere but that location... simple
eduardo hernandez hmm actually, I think this is probably the best thought I've heard. You're right.
Propably wouldn't have worked as she asked him to leave right in front of him and it didn't work So how would asking him on the phone change anything
@@munkayttaja6913 Seeing how over protective the brother is, instead of trying to explain the whole mumbo jumbo of being from the future. She could literally just call him and say something to the effect of she's in danger and needs his help, and/or she or mother is in the hospital etc so something to that effect would have him running without hesitation.
@@AnbuPrincess Ikr, as stubborn he was only lying about herself being in danger would keep him moving I guess
This would fail because then the big brother would tell her sister after she got home in the washing dishes scene “why did u call me earlier lol sis” and space time continuum
I had an emotional break down watching that movie it's super sad ☹️😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
When there's death, dead will always be. -Men in Black 3
Another reference is the movie with Guy Pearce The Time Machine, where he can go back a thousand times and still see his fiance die a thousand different ways. Once something is done it can't be undone.
right on the money
This sounds similar to the movie "Happy Death Day"(a comedy/horror movie version of "Groundhog Day");the heroine is killed over and over again(after she's killed, she wakes up Before she is killed;she avoids being killed the way she just experienced it,only to be killed a different way);no matter how much she changes things, she gets killed again,Anyway
Spike Lee did it again 👏🏾‼️
Ashanti Rashad did what? This movie was trash
Cbread22 well thank you for expressing your opinion but I’m not going clap-back 🤷🏾♀️
All Spike Lee did was say that the girl was too stubborn to listen to anybody and everything that happened in this movie was her fault...
Movie was doo doo
I love spike's movie all but this one, she just comes across as an asshole, learns nothing and helps no one, what's was the point ?
Out of all the movies, this one has been chosen to have an open ending🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️😤
Don’t let this fool you from the fact that all this happened because Cj threw a slushee at her ex
This is a missed opportunity to do a multiple-ending thing like Bandersnatch. Maybe that was the intention and Netflix forgot to release the endings?
This movie was great I love time travel movies they're my favorite Also am I the only person who love cliffhangers?
I like cliffhangers too 🙋🏽♀️ it allows me to creat my own theories of alternate endings, or look back and decipher the messages the movie tried to give in the first place, like, time traveling will always have a shit ton of consequences, no matter how fun it sounds initially 🙂
was good but her stubbornness is just annoying she doesn’t listen and thinks she knows it all and wasnt careful with the time travel with great power comes great responsibility and sabastian was the one who knew you shouldn’t change anything because it will affect the outcome of a parrell universe in time space and i just dont like her character tbh
I agree with this 100%
I liked the lack of ending. My interpretation is that she will fail again and again thus telling us we can't change the past (slavery, segregation, etc) so we must focus on the present to prevent this circle of heat repeats itself for eternity.
That was amazing...Calvin understood and willing gave up his life for his sister and her best friend.
I was wondering why they didn’t try to convince there past selves not to jump bc of the consequences. Instead of going to the scene of the robbery or the shooting? Idk time travel gives me a headache 🤦🏽♀️
madiii look at what happened to Captain America, Rick and Morty, and Charles Xavier from the X-Men when they meet their previous time traveling counterparts.
RalphJr2020 yeah but this movie follows BTTF time travel. Jennifer saw her future self in the movie and all she did was pass out. I think correcting that first jump was the key to keeping Calvin alive
I just feel like her first jump to the pass messed everything up if she didn’t get her ex in an accident and made beef btw her brother and her ex maybe at the cookout they would have stayed together and no one hurt so basically this just proves that the small thing she did and saw it as a minor thing messed up all their lives just to prove again that everything has a consequence.
I saw the original short film and I think the ending was the same. And I didn’t feel like watching the “extended version” on Netflix.
Wish I can unwatch this movie didn't make sense
Dude that movie is SO good. I was crying my heart out yesterday, especially since Calvin. I kept saying to myself “okay, this is fake, stop crying.” But it’s SO GOOD, it feels like real life! If you ask me the saddest part of the movie/the one that made me cry for like 2 hours straight, was when Calvin said “see you yesterday” and then he faded. That hit me SO hard.
The ending is deeper than most people think. It shows the females of this generation will suffer far greater bcuz of they’re “stubborn” behavior. They’re unwillingness to listen to men, or males that have the right answer. Essentially what they were telling her is you cannot make the universe bend to your will. CJ was unwilling to except this answer at all cost, which is why she will always lose in the end. When you learn how to take a loss you are worthy and ready to win. Those who do not know how to except a loss are not worthy to win. Loved your analysis, gotta watch this movie!
She jumped forward into the future, past all of the prior events that had taken place. If you look at her device when she sets her timer on the last jump, the date is 7/4/2019. Calvin died on 6/28/2019
After Calvin willingly sacrificed his life to save Sebastian I thought the only way yould be for CJ to finally accept sad reality and try to move on as best as possible in this difficult situation. But this open ending makes me believe she went back in time, managed to save Calvin and without Sebastian getting harmes, but she herself will lose her life (and maybe at the point we see her expression in the end, the last camera shot on her indicatees she is already aware of this). Yes, her stubbornness is a character flaw which could have been used for a character dveelopment but I don't think it didn't happen at all. Just different from what we thought. So in the end it wasn't her not willing to accept that there would always be a sad outcome, it was the realization that there would be only one way to stop it for not getting anyone else harmed. Aside from her. And seeing how all outcomes affected others and she couldn' accept her brother died also due to the fact she inspired him to try to strive for something more in life and I think she wanted to give him that chance, while also knowing that their discovery of travelling in time could do some harm. So she trusts Sebastian will take care of this (although the future will change once more in an extent we don't know for sure). Another reason I believe this is what happens is the question the teacher asked her in the beginning. What she would do if she could travel in time. How would she use it. Regarding Sebastian and what he would do if CJ would be the one dying... I think she knows him well enough to be sure he'd figure out she died only as a consequence of something she did while travelling in time or that he ends up not knowing they even used it for this. He's not as sturbborn so I don't think he'd try to prevent her from dying since she was the one who started it to begin with. At least that is my interpretation of the ending. Still a little frustrating we don't know for sure and I could be wrong.
I needed an ending!
I agree, I hated that there was no ending.
CJ could’ve just tried to go back where she and Sebastian made their 1st attempt and convince them to not do anything with the time travel and tell them everything in the 10 minutes she had, then maybe just maybe everyone could’ve been saved
I was frustrated at first at the ending until I thought about how many people wish they could go back and change the unfair killings of their loved ones. But they can’t and it is real and raw. At least you can have hope she can help save her brother. Like you said sometimes life isn’t fair but sometimes things people do in life are criminal and they should be prosecuted as such. 😔 Tired of this kind of stuff happening.
I believe if time travel were possible. Trying to fix a tragic event .would somehow make things worse. Everything happens for a reason. Trying to change that would only make other events happen that didn't happen before.
Some of y'all have never seen a Spike Lee movie and it shows...
I cried soooooo many times where I watched it
I liked the movie overall and yeah, I would have preferred the nice tidy happy ending. But I think I get what the film maker was going for here....Sometimes there are no answers and sometimes we dont get to have that nice tidy resolution (good or bad). Just like in these situations in real life. We dont know what happened for certain and (as often happens) when there is no guilty verdict, there is no closure. (And sometimes even if there IS a guilty verdict, there is no closure).
If she never threw those slushees on her ex bf, He wouldn’t have broken his arm and came to the family cook out Causing Calvin to leave to be shot by the cops.
Nay, because it was all her fault to begin with. Her 1st jump triggers everything, because she clowned her ex boyfriend with the 2x slush bath. This triggers the broke arm that escalates the confrontation at the 4th party when the ex confronted her brother and he left early. She continues the loop and even the brother tries to fix her error when the program switch from her brother to her best friend to fix the time line she initially fucks up. The correct path would have been to jump to when they 1st do their exercise shows the program and the dog tags to confront her stubborn ass. This would pause the events and allow her to learn.
Thats why i think she sacrificed herself at the ending
I think this is the first act of a much bigger story.. like how back to the future was a story told as a trilogy. or the matrix.
No, creator mentioned he will not do a sequel and wanted the ending to be open for interpretation like this. So yeah, it sucks not really knowing what happens to CJ in the ending jump and what she would have done differently.
@@AnbuPrincess I think with the creator you mean this guy? kzhead.info/sun/lcmiebtlpXmsl5s/bejne.html this is a link to the original promo movie for black lives matter festival.. same cast.. For me personally I think we don't get to see the end because it will always be like this and it will never end unless we can get passed our own ego's which was obviously something she had difficulties with.. really liked this movie and finally a movie that suprises me. i really dont need another final act like all those hollywood movies use a classic 3 act formula .
My interpretation is that she sacrifices herself at the to save Both her brother and her friend which is why she says I love you to Sebastian before she goes again. It’s not like she had any other crazy plan to try and do it again. But at the end of the day that’s just my interpretation.
I liked it. I relate to her in the bone stubbornness, plus she smarter than most and she knows. The fact she didn’t learn anything only leads me to believe that she will keep trying until she can’t anymore. Because of that, I accept this ending. The ending is open to interruption but because of how her character is established she’ll never stop until she gets it right. To me this was really the only way to end this. They would have had to kill her to end this movie and have someone get a hold of her research and this shit start all over again.
The movie was great. The ending wasn't the best i need to know how it ended l. What's CJ going to do? It just ended with her running
Kayla Johnson most people are saying she is going sacrifice herself to save her best friend and brother
Siddalee Buranaphan yea
CJ is like Marty Mac fly character from back to the future, in a sense that they both had angry temper that often time got in the way of the mission
but Marty didn't have a 10 minute time window, that ruined it for me.
I loved/hated the ending because it was frustrating af but the message is that no matter how many times she went back to correct her mistakes, it didn't matter if she didn't learned anything, and I think that's life you know, if we don't learn from our mistakes we are doomed.
Yea wasn’t that fox guy part of the greatest Trilogy ever made??? And it retains this because the creator put into his will to NEVER touch those three. And didn’t that Trilogy get somewhat of a sequel I’m a cartoon that takes place after the 3 movie where it revolves around doc’s kids. Almost with the TallTale games for a prequel. Ahhhh the past and before cooperation took over the word FUN.
I thought that the ending was that she went back to save her friend and her brother by the cops killing her instead of her friend and her brother but your guess is just just as good as mine
BaconMeBuns I still feel with everyone saying her taking the bullet would make Calvin rage and he would probably get shot for going towards the police in anger
I SWEAR TO GOD IM ABOUT TO COMMENT ON ALL YOUR VIDEOS
When I finished watching this movie, I was flat out stressed and fusturated at the same time. So, I decided to actually watch Back To The Future, and luckily it made things better. :)
Wish I could go back in time to prevent myself from watching this movie so I wouldn't be so disappointed :(
fr 😕
hahahaha 😂 it was terrible wasn't it! Spike Lee was involved too... unbelievable!
Yeah me too.
all they had to do was learn from BTTF and they could have made it great. maybe even given MJF a little more of a cameo.the whole 10 minute, one day limit really messed it up.
Thank you for saving me and my future self from wasting an hour and a half on a movie with no ending
I just waste my time
@@iliyangeorgiev798guess what i just waste my time and my internet data 😂
@@chocolatesaftersex7445 same wasting time ...
Nice review. Liked the movie. I took this as Spike Lee trying something new like a Black Mirror type ending. It may seem like there is no ending but I took it as she never gets it right and she is forever looping back to that point in time to either save her brother or her friend. Meaning things are meant to happen and they will happen. She is so hard headed that she cannot understand that no matter what she does it will never turn out right but she keeps on and on and on and on.
Would have felt like a better movie if we did get to see something of the sort play out and then maybe in the end accept that her brother's death is inevitable, one of the jumps had him even sacrificing himself intentionally so it'd be interesting to see her come to this realization.

That ending was great...leave it to the imagination of the viewer to decide the outcome..since everyone has own idea of how movie should end u create multiple timelines in which CJ gets it right or wrong....Brilliant!!!!!
I was so mad!!!
why didn't they jump near there destination. save on running.
Great Scott
The open ending ruined the movie for me. I kept waiting for CJ to learn from her mistakes and she never did. Instead they end the movie with her trying yet another time to clean up something that she created. Which left me with the impression that she was destined to repeat the mistake over and over. Having her learn from her mistakes would have been such a great way to celebrate this genius type African American character. Instead the director chose to fail the character and take the easy way out, instead of taking a stand for the her.
05.57 skip . Thank me later. Cheers 🍻

@@parasite10 huh?
@@Projxctxvii I have no idea
This is actually a good movie.
totally agree with the review.
I think that it’s basically the same thing as the ending of dr strange except she’s stuck doing it forever and not getting out like Strange did or she gets killed
I know this is a reach but.....think she had anything to do with her father death👀 😐 cj kept messing up everything!
Beauty Challenge Channel how so? What makes you think that? just asking... curious The movie ending didn’t bother me, I’m assuming she keeps going back, maybe not always to change it, but also to just see her brother, hence the title.
We need a part 2 this is bull
It’s been confirmed there’s gonna be no part 2
@@cheetopro9273 sad always makes me wonder if she actually did it running
when cj hears the gunshot in their second time travel it was same as they showed us in the movie in her last attempt
Honestly some things are just meant to be, no matter how you try to fix it. It was just Calvin’s time to go. All that jumping just made it bounce between him or Sebastian. CJ doesn’t know how to listen or learn. I think without Calvin or Sebastian (1 going not both) being in her life it would’ve started making her be more self aware, and to simply think before doing. Like Calvin said she doesn’t listen and let’s her attitude and temper jump first. CJ is destructive, and has to learn the hard way.
