It’s time for another almighty four-way DRAG RACE!
Mat’s lining up in the brand new BMW M8 Gran Coupe, and alongside it’s the Porsche Panamera Turbo S, an Audi RS6 and a Mercedes-AMG E63 S estate.
So how about performance? Well the BMW’s packing a 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 which produces 625hp and 750Nm of torque. The Porsche may only have a 4-litre twin-turbo V8, but thanks to the addition of an electric motor it’ll produce 680hp & 850Nm! As the for the remaining contenders, the RS6’s 4-litre V8 will put down 600hp and 800Nm, while the AMG E63 S will produce 612hp and 850Nm thanks to its - you guessed it - 4-litre twin-turbo V8!

Nikeythm the m8 was a grand coupe which is substantually larger and heavier than the merc, they even say so in the video. It was as fast as the porsche which is 500 kg heavier and doesnt even have more power. As a german i am kind of ashamed of the e63. Being the lightest and most powerful car (on even terms with the porsche) i expected it to win. Also in comparison it looks shit 🤷🏻♂️

also... reving an engine without load can hurt it... it is a way to protect the engine for over reving without air passing through the radiators and for some vibrations that buildup without a load on the engine

@@derbigpr500 Cmon when they are all good GT cars the audi is definitely way behind the curve even though it is the newest of the bunch. I am a RS6 fanboy but I would rather go for the C7 RS6 performance or the E63s. This generation is a disappointment to me for the lacklustre performance and over the top looks and rev limiter (okay the rev limiter isnt their fault but still). The RS6 C7 is still my favourite so yes you are right straight line speeds aint the most important, its the general ability of the RS6 C8 to not hit expectations that makes me sad.

guys, the soft limiters on some cars are by design and not only for polution as the new bmw 3 series will come without a soft limiter, but some require limiters to protect the engines in fact... some engines and i think the really big boost ones can be hurt if there isnt a load put on to dampen some vibrations and also there has to be air that passes through radiators to cool the turbos, oil and the engine itself ....

I am not sure if everyone who buys an RS6 care if it’s slightly slower, doesn’t break as well etc. I am not a big Audi fan so I’m not sure what the reason is to get it over the others, but I’m sure some people might like the way it looks, handles, drives whatever it is. It’s just everyone here including myself care about the numbers and who’s getting gapped.
You should have used the Mercedes AMG GT 4door. That is on the same level as the BMW M8 Competition GC. Otherwise, awesome drag race as always

@@MRDAULATZAI1993 same engine and power as the RS6, maybe better aerodynamics so at higher speeds there would be less drag. That's negligible in the drag race, breaktest, and the 1st half of the rolling race imo. The AMG GT 4 door has the Mercedes engine is a more powerful configuration.

They could have weighed it with someone in it, or as he mentioned in the video, it was a viewer's car with light modification (like exhaust) and he might have removed something else as well, but who knows. I also think he misspoke in the beginning because he said it was an 8 speed, but its a 9 speed MTC, unless its actually an 8 speed, in which that would make up a 250lb differents.

It’s actually pretty sad, the previous generation was probably the best in its class now it’s basically the worst.
Don’t forget the RS6 is the standard one, whereas the rest of the cars are the most sporty “S” versions

Im gonna say it again: Softlimiter on the audi is a joke. Paying that much money for a performance car and it sounds like a Nissan Micra when its stationary. Honestly that would be a no for me right there. Edit: And after the drag race I have to say, it lost some of its punch too. New Audis just don't feel as good as the old ones (in their time)

After seeing the difference between the cars. I might slightly regret ordering an RS4 B9. If this trend continues, I'm afraid it will not be Audi for me in the future. Not to even mention the price. €183.000 for the RS4.

Not sure exhaust is aftermarket on the AMG. My 2020 e63s sounds like that stock in Sport+ or Race Mode. Flaps aren’t just open but refs are ever so slightly higher too when idling. Not that the latter bit should make a difference but I do get those subtle pops and bangs as well.

The GT 63s 4-Door has already been taken off by M5 Competition , while M8 GC Competition take easily the M5 Competition , so the results would be same ..
Hey Matt, next time you do a rev off, try turning off the traction control before you give it the beans. It might resolve the soft limiter issue.

I dont know about acceleration of mercedes and bmw but quattro is unbeatable. Slipped in a rather sharp curve in rainy weather at 160kph, slipped right, swung left and right and had control again. During the slip the car had so much control its unbelieveable. I could hear the aquaplaning each swing. It was crazy.
