How’s this for an all-German showdown... Audi RS6 v BMW M5 Competition v Mercedes-AMG E63 S!
All three of these contenders can produce a serious amount of power. First up we’ve got Mat in his RS6, which is powered by a 4-litre twin-turbo V8 and can put down 600hp & 800Nm of torque. Alongside him we have the new BMW M5 Competition, with a 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 delivering 625hp and 750Nm.
And then finally we have the AMG E63 S, which is housing a 4-litre twin-turbo V8 which produces 612hp and 850Nm.
So how do you think this will play out? The M5 puts down the most power, so will it snatch the win? Or will the Audi’s Quattro AWD prove a decisive on this wet track? There’s only one way to find out… LET’S RACE!

  • The Merc driver doesn't like loosing but has the reaction time of a grandma, he launches visibly behind everyone else.

    • It's not the drivers fault, the car is responsible for the lag. When I drove an S63 Coupe, the same thing happened. It just needs an extra bit to take off

Also you can see he is at fault, as the brakes turn off 0.3-0.5s later than the other cars, and no matter the cars delay the break lights turn off the moment you release it. Also he was bad in general, even messed up the shifts in the rolling races.

  • The fact is the weather won’t always be dry and sunny and it just goes to show how superior the Real Quattro system is over 4matic and Xdrive and i think everyone can respect that. In dry conditions the Audi might lose but having an amazing awd system in countries like the U.K and Canada makes up for it

    • The problem is not that xDrive and 4matic is bad in the wet. The problem is that they both require you to turn of traction control when launching whereas the Audi requires that you have it on. In normal driving or off-roading with traction control on you won’t notice any difference between Quattro, xDrive and 4matic

    • Actually I can tell you when it matters. Maybe this is what you meant. Although wet launches are great in the audi, you won't be doing a lot of those. But when you have roads that are not straight and it will rain, maybe with some mud or debris on them, Quattro and audi will make you feel safe. I have an E53 amg stage 1 and I drive like a grandma when it's wet. Great handling when dry, but...

    • It really doesn’t… u don’t by a performance car for a good AWD system. Performance cars are made to be driven in dry conditions, and you would never go 100% in wet conditions.

  • I think all these cars sound pretty good to be honest, despite the soft limiter. I'm not a fan of soft limiters, but if we're gonna have them, let's at least appreciate when the engineers made the effort of making the car sound good below 4000rpm or whatever.

  • Very nice lineup, but with these 3 cars being so close performance-wise, PLEASE make the test more equal. 3 sets of new same tires on each and then try and change "lanes" on the runway so you ensure grip level is the same. Cheers

All the three cars here have featured more than once on this channel but never been put up against each other in the same video and those clips were from previous Carwow videos. In addition to this, the E63 S and M5 Competition are the facelifted versions and are also featuring on Carwon drag race, probably for the 1st time.

  • When the track is flooded (not only wet) then it would be nice to know which tires are mounted? When m5 and amg are in their performance version may they have uhp tires as well which perform poorly in the wet? 🤷🏻‍♂️

    • yes i think because this are used cars , the bmw and the merq have drift mode and im sure the tires are not in good condition , meanwile the audis tires because it never drifts or burnout im sure they are in perfect condition,and the bmw and merq have performace tires wich are not good in wet , audi has more everyday use tires better for this conditions , thats why it launched better

  • You should switch the "lanes", since it seems that some of them have more water, which makes it kinda not comparable. Already noticed it in the past drag races, that the left side seems to be not that wet.

  • The amazing thing about these cars and their 'rivalry' is that at the end of the day all 3 are great, fast cars with amazing performance and obviously, the consumers/buyers are the ones that benefit from them. True Car guys and true Petrolheads do not get fanatic over only one brand. Just imagine if one of these car brands didn't exist, we wouldn't have got some amazing cars and models from them.
