  • Nevermind what he did with the Lakers, thats legendary. What he did with the Knicks is miraculous. People thought he couldn't win without Magic, Kareem & Worthy. He goes to NY, has Patrick Ewing and no other legit 2nd scorer and he made them into contenders that were so close to a title. He saw the team he had and knew he couldn't run Showtime with them so he adapted to the players. Great coaches do that. They adapt

I've been binging on these Hall of Fame Speeches for a week now, and I come away with a great feeling about people. I wish these men would stand up and tell the fools that want to employ fear mongering and mistrust against fellow people in this society that we have a tremendous amount of strength available to us, but it takes leadership to make us get off the fences. It takes the common man to speak up about the abuse of power and misuse of the media to engender division and anxiety. You can feel it with these speeches and interviews. The Irving Johnson Larry Bird story. Becoming human beings. Not sociopaths and users. Now about that hair product, Pat...I could use something...I'm starting to clown out.

  • Pat Riley has always been a class act. When he was the coach of "my" Lakers, LA lived and died with that team. The Lakers were the religion of Los Angeles when Riles was their coach. That you, Coach Riley.
