  • My favorite moment was Crusoe running into your arms Tara with his biggest smile ever and glee. To be cuddled, caressed and having his face kissed all over melted my heart. To be taught so young what love is, is being deeply ingrained in his being. One King said, "Enter the Kingdom like a little child". This moment portrayed the saying brilliant ly. To be greeted and loved completely is a beautiful to watch. I love watching you love on your children Tara.❤❤

  • Wow what a great job with the sweet potatoes! My heart melts listening to Crusoe get so excited. When he hugged Sawyer it was so sweet. I’ve never seen any child get so involved with daily chores and loving it. He is such a big help already, just imagine what he’ll be like as he gets older! He is going to know how to do so much, it’s incredible. I wish I would have gotten my daughter more involved in day to day chores. She might know how to do more for herself now. You two are wonderful parents!!! I love you all! Can’t wait for the new house! 👍❤️

  • We cleaned our coop every single day. I can't stand the smell, and think that the girls feel the same. We built an undercover area over the coop to keep them dry during the rainy season, and it has worked a treat. In summer, we get 40 to 43 degrees Celsius, and having that extra cover is shade for them. I grow pumpkin over the netting that's over their run for added shade in summer. We had to put up netting because the wedge tail Eagles try to capture them. We had an episode with one, and they were attacked and are now so scared. Blood and some combs were ripped. We just do what needs done to make our lives easier, and the chooks too 😊

    • I try to clean our coop everyday or every other. I use finely chopped up straw which makes it much easier than regular straw. I purchase it at tractor supply store that carries feed etc. I don't know if they can find it there. I bought a long handled litter scoop and can scoop up the poo. I was out of it the last time I needed it and the store was out so I put regular straw and hate it!! Our coop is large enough for me to go inside which also makes it easier.

  • Hi Tara, John, Crusoe and Sawyer. This week's video just popped up as I was just about to go to bed. I hope you aren't taking too much of a battering with the stormy weather and are safe and dry. I don't think I have ever seen anyone so excited about sweet potatoes. And like always Crusoe was there in the thick of things pulling up the sweet potatoes as much as he could. It's good to see Crusoe enjoys the vegetable garden as much as you do. Cheers until next time.

The "ri" bit is part of her surname "Ribeiro" -- a common enough family name in Portugal; and, of course, "Rosa" is Portuguese for "Rose"@@TheNewbys Great video all the same. Very impressive the size of those sweet potatoes. It's great to have such fertile soil on your property. You will be truly excellent gardeners in no time at all.

Are you or may I suggest a growth chart… we have a special doorway where all three of our kids were measured as they grew. It’s really fun to look at it with the etched marks, name and dates. Happy days!❤

  • Hi guys I live on a coastal plain in Australia . Our soil is shocking it is sand not soil and like yours water just washes over it. I can put sprinklers on for an hour, looks like it’s very wet then move the “soil” bone dry under the tiny wet layer may use washing up liquid on lawns but you can also put on light bit of chicken manure …of course flower beds a lot easier …lots of compost and manure

  • I absolutely loved when Crusoe hugged his little brother Sawyer! I'm sorry for the damage that rain and wind caused, but I'm glad it wasn't too bad! But I have to thank you because you encouraged me to harvest my sweet potatoes this afternoon. This was the first year we grew sweet potatoes and I wasn't sure when to harvest them. I had heard that you should harvest them after 6 months of planting, that would be for us in December, other sources said that we should harvest when the leaves get dry. Our sweet potatoes leaves started getting dry this week, but I thought we had to wait a bit more. But when I watched your "treasure hunting", I said to my husband we have to do it too! Oh we got 4 enormous sweet potatoes (as Crusoe says❤). They're about 1.2 kg, then the rest are more normal size! We are supper happy with the yield! Congratulations on yours!
