  • Fingerboarding has helped me through a dark time. I used to be a 100% die hard skateboarder, it was my life, I lived and breathed skating. I had been skating for about 22ish years and I was hit with a bunch of shit all at once, I got this severe deadly lung infection and came within a day of actually dying. Because of the sickness I lost around 70lbs including my muscle mass that I had developed from skateboarding for so long. Once I was out of the hospital and starting to get healthy again I started skating again, pushing around, trying to build my muscles back up. That didn't last long cause about 3 or 4 days into that I completely blew my right knee out. Mcl, pcl, and acl, destroyed. Now I couldn't even walk. It was one of those "career ending" injuries. Well while rehabilitating from that, my other knee blew out... how ironic lol Anyways, I can't skate anymore, like physically can't do it, and it was the saddest thing I've ever experienced. I found fingerboarding, and it has filled some of that empty hole that losing skateboarding, the love of my life caused. I never would've thought something could help like this, but it has.

I have to admit, even I was like "seriously?" when I read the announcement last week-- but seeing it in action and hearing these people talk about it, I get it now. And honestly, it's a harmless passion. If they're having fun, who cares? Life's hard enough without judging someone over something like fingerboarding.

  • I would love to see an I spent a day with pro yoyo players episode, like fingerboarding it is a pretty niche community and I do believe it'd be cool to have it on the site, you can interview absolute legends like Gentry Stein, Rei Iwakura, Steve Brown(who invented freehand style), Jensen Kimmitt An Connoly, and many others, There's several styles of play, different companies different shapes, and like fingerboarding it's a tool of expression and it feels awesome to learn. I think if you explore the world of yoyo you'll find some love for it is really cool.

  • whats funny is that skateboarding and action sports were all seen as stupid, nonsense, a waste of time. But theses type of artistic sports are, well artistic, and are respected by enough people. legitimacy is determined by the people, we can make anything we want legitimate, and I appreciate the legitimacy of all board sports. It really brings more love and light to these arts.

    @bhodialvarado6778@bhodialvarado67782 жыл бұрын
    • My favorite part about fingerboarding is the artistic expression it has similar to skateboarding, but easier! You can construct a skatepark out of real wood, metal and concrete for a highly detailed miniature train like experience, or just a bunch of random household objects and office supplies to get that 6th grade nostalgia going. Fingerboards are so much smaller and easier to make that doing fun graphics, colored wood plys, and funky shapes it’s a wonderland of creativity.

They were lovely, kind, funny people, they were a lot weirder than I expected, I had a stereotype of nerdy science people in mind, not reality. Thank you so SO much for the reminder!! 💚💚 I did a lot of stuff today, school, getting vaccinated with the russian vaccine, homework, cleaning, then I got the side effects but now I'm better, so I watched the video and It's a really good one!! I love when Anthony tries people's hobbies/professions to learn how it feels being in their shoes, it's something that really shows how open minded and empathetic he is and also proof how much passion and hardwork people put in their things. Also he got really good people to interview, I think I learnt very healthy lessons out of it. Allowing yourself to play and do stuff you like without thinking if it is a "grown up" thing is something that can bring so much joy!! I experience this drawing, watching cartoons and playing videogames, it's really good for the mind just to disconnect and do something fun. Like I said, this is a really good video and I think a lot of people need to learn to be free and do things cause they like it, not because how much money or things you can make with it. And lastly I think I understand the amazing world of fingerboarding just a little bit more ;)
