  • i come across these so often and now that ive seen these videos i hate to throw them out knowing they can be repaired or theyre of value to soem people. i lvoe fixing things..idk if these have much value around here but jsut for kicks id like to see if i can fix one or if they work...any ideas where to get the tester to plug in to make it blow air? thats all id need to really test these out. i have 4-5 in my yard right now..maybe soemone will find them of some use rather than me scrapping them out.. itd also be neat to learn to fix them..where to get parts and stuff..but i mean if theyre really not of great value then theres no point but some peopel find use for them obviously these guys have shops full of them.

  • I had my freezer compressor restored in 1985 in Zimbabwe. The mechanic had a full range of parts. New freezers simply were not available in Zimbabwe then.

  • The fart broke the screw head . He is working so roughly although he knows what he needs to do , I am sure the reactivated compressor won't last 3 months .

    • No, it was the socket wrench that came loose from the head of the screw, the height of the head of these screws is only about two thirds of that of the normal ones and since the sockets have a bit of a chamfer if they are not kept well aligned they do not grip correctly.

    • It's a very hot country. The çompressor therefore has to work so much harder than eg Western Europe.

  • Таким у нас промышляли в 90е. За неимением лучшего. Перемалывали и меняли клапана ( если нужно). Долго такое говно не проработает.

    • Это называется утилизация. Когда из той же ЕС вагонами вывозят отработанную технику для утилизации в страны третьего мира, а сами их потом штрафуют за загрязнения и ставят в пример себя, какие они чистые и зелёные. Высшая степень лицемерия.

    • It's belong 1980 Germany worked for almost 35 to 40 years then restore . From inside parts I assure you it was German model .

  • Antique ? Sounds like their old stuff was discarded. But then it does provide compressors. I guess better than not one. Atleast their very good at their work. Providing jobs an refrigeration.

    • Good Point but not fully accurate. The Refurbishing process itself has a footprint which isn’t necessarily smaller than a new one when considering the fact the these parts do not last as long. Secondly must consider the fact that these workshops follow no green processes in disposing/recycling old parts/materials. And lastly, even advanced countries refurbish e.g. car starter motors, axel rods etc. Back in the days in India batteries were refurbished locally and used lead and acid was handled, disposed and/or recycled in a non-green way. But these days it’s all banned plus it makes more financial sense to have a proper factory do the recycling.
