The new loader gets some much needed TLC. We replace the low pressure fuel regulator with help from our friends at @AreaDieselService and do a little grinding and welding as well.

It seems like all of my favorite YT creators owe Area Diesel Service a case of beer for all the free tech support. Sounds like a great company and good people to know.
How do you know ADS? I only know them from the ytchannels they cooperate with. So that's pretty good advertisement for ADS, don't you think? And that's worth something too...
If those guys really get all this amount of beer, their advice will be temporarily slightly under par...
Too much beer is not enough!
Must not be familiar with marketing. Nor paying for a service.
I’ve had experience d air getting sucked in to system from hand pump I prefer the bubble and primer great content thank you
Don’t have heavy equipment and never will have a need for heavy equipment, but I love watching Sam’s channel and Matt’s from Diesel Creek. For a young guy, Sam is super knowledgeable be it mechanical or electrical and has a hell of a work ethic! Another great job Sam.
He sure does
Sam's Grandpa was an excellent teacher !!
Sam, scrappy industries. Matt, diesel creek. And now Kim, calamity Kim. Are the best of all to watch. Very knowledgeable and interesting in all that they have done.
Sam repping the Cutting Edge Engineering hat! I’m sure Kurtis and Karen would be thrilled!
There's nothing better than spent a lazy sunday afternoon on the couch, watching Scrappy Sam and his jobs. Thanks Sam.
I don’t care what anyone says, Dam that’s a good looking loader!!
Always smiling even after a bath in hydraulic oil 🛀 Nice work, Sam 👍
I just love your positivity, you are always smiling. It’s great to be alive with people like you Sam.🔧👍🇬🇧
Noticed the same. Smiling even with snus in the lip.
Sam, I'm gonna say the same thing I said to Matt at Diesel Creek some time ago; I, for one, appreciate that you don't edit out your mistakes! It shows us that we all flub things up every now & then. I also liked the fact that you can laugh at yourself afterward. Very glad you got the issues straightened out & look forward to watching whatever comes next.
Dude is starting to like his Volvo.
Nice hat from cutting edge engineering
Another great repair job by Sam. Thanks for taking the time to chronicle the steps(and missteps) to troubleshoot the culprits. We have one of these L90's in our fleet since 2003.
Love how the dogs know just how much to move to let your volvo get past them. No more energy spent than necessary.
It is so wonderful hearing someone from the US using the metric system. You'll get there one day USA, you'll get there. 😉
I really wish it was already metric before I was alive lol all big manufacturers here use metric now anyway
Years ago when metric started in the US, i always called them mm as in 10 mm, 20 mm, etc. it always stuck with me and my friends.
Great to see the CEE hat!👌🏻 Another favourite!🙌🏻
The Volvo engine is an excellent engine and says a lot about the durability of the vehicle
This one is a Deutz in Volvo paint
That Deutz is notorius of dropping cylinder liners
A man of culture with the cornwell ratchets.
Good day Sam I always enjoy watching you work on equipment
Wow! A grinder with a cord. I didn't think those were a thing anymore😂
Just a note about maintenance. I managed a fleet of over the road trucks for a bunch of years. Our policy was whenever a truck came into the shop for any maintenance that involved and interaction with belts, my mechanics had standing instructions to replace them all, regardless of condition. Hoses, same. It is cheap insurance. I would rather replace a belt in my shop than 1,000 miles from home on the side of the road. That Volvo was begging you to change the belts while you had access and it was in your shop, not out on a jobsite. Belts and hoses are cheap compared to a $1,000.00 service call or a lost day's production. Plan your work, work your plan.
I honestly cant think of better viewing content for a Sunday morning. Sitting here drinking coffee and watching scrappy!!!!
This is hitting perfect with my morning coffee. Beautiful morning on the east coast today
Perfect timing for me as well.
Watching filter and fluid changes is rather mundane. BUT watching you straighten the steps was way cool. Great video! 👍👍👍
Agree. That was the best part of the entire video.
Like the video on Volvo L90F Wheel loader Sam
Another great repair video from Sam @ scrappy industries!!! Always repairing something different Have a great Sunday Sam and Family!!!
Between you and Matt I just might be able to fix my 350 bulldozer someday 😊
Sam your the Man, great job Sir, sorry about the spray , lol
Great job!
Thanks for sharing
Awesome Sam! Thanks for bringing us along!
Nice video 👍 Regards from Sweden 🇸🇪
Deutz used a belt drive pump too and they often allowed air into the system. I think there would be fewer problems if they didn't use the pump as a tensioner or build in better bearings if they do.
That is Deutz engine... Volvo owns Deutz.
Enjoyed
HEY! Good morning Sam and thumbs UP!!
THANKS!
Great video thanks Sam
Good to See You Scrappy Sam
Good job 👏 Thumbs up 👍
Very cool machine. It's really coming along.
Good to see you back - have looked daily for your videos - thanks for what you do
Like the oops, especially when its some else’s and I don’t have to clean up the mess, oh my, I have had some EXON VALDES experiences with hydraulic systems though, and man, to me, nothing worse to clean up/off than hydraulic oil, always carried a change of cloths with me on service calls, saved me more than once. Nice job of chasing down the fuel system problem. Thanks for the VOLVO update, appreciate your time and effort on the video.
Keep on smiling! You make my day!
Great job Sam
Nice job SAM !
Awesome videos Sam. Keep’em coming. Love these types of videos.
Good job Sam love your videos
You can use linseed oil on the faded plastics,it will make them darker and look way better.
Flash those black plastic parts with a propane torch to bring back the color. I haven't seen Hastings filters for quite a while.
@@jaygraham5407If you do that with a torch, you will have stains caused by uneven heating when the plastic degrade again. Linseed oil will last longer and coat it very uniformely,it's also cheaper.
I love your channel, you make learning fun🎉🎉🎉
With some new paint here and there along with some new panels, she'll be living her best life going forward!
PMCS... Preventative Maintenance Checks and Services.
Really like watching your videos. Keep them coming Sam.
I love the way you are with your Equipment and the way you troubleshoot your stuff.
Thanks Sam.
Good machine
Awesome Video!!!
Thanks for the visit
Great job Sam always very interesting 🦘
Another great video, lots of great information. DC needs to catch up !
Thanks for letting us tag along on this fix and service bro. Safe travels. Ken.
That machine likely will last another half century in your hands
In anybodies hands.
I really enjoy watching your vlogs Sam. You offer such clear advice on how you solve problems that come along. Thanks for all that you are doing!
Great video Sam,peace brother…
Ol peg would be proud of those welds!
Sam you could have always done the ‘Ol fpr mod…. Putting a BB in the fuel pressure regulator on a 7.3PS. That would take up the slop from spring wear. 🤣😉
wel done Mr Sam
Great experience there I wouldn't no where to start, thanks for sharing your skill ,
Nice video and a nice shovel. Nice to have a network of people you can ask questions to like Areadiesel.
Those step repairs are what’s known as thinking on your feet and you passed with flying colours 🏴👍🏻
Good morning 👍👍👍👍
That is a better weld then I would have made, be proud!
Brilliant been waiting on the video dropping Sam. Great work again, Sam, watching from Edinburgh Scotland UK 🇬🇧 👏
Oil Leak - Matt would be proud of yah!
Nice fountain of oil!! 😂😂 Area Diesel as helpful as always!!
Use what ya' got. That's what I'm talking about. Thanks for the video. 👍👍👌👌
Hi Sam. Wery nice work and always nice to see you. Take care. / Lille from Sweden
Even though we have an L90E (same Deutz engine and drivetrain as L90F) among our loaders, other than comfort it just never will beat the old pure 90's and 90B's. An entirely mechanical machine is just incomparable to today's electronic nightmares.
Great video and a great job, your knowledge is very impressive..thanks for sharing and stay safe.
I think you should change that transmission oil, I drove the same type of loader here in Norway and when did a transmission service on it change gear so much smoother and faster😊
On the fuel filter housing water can leak into the fuel. just above the fuel filter water passes through the back of that housing but I’ve seen a few create a small crack in the wall between them which makes them mix, they can crack if the filter gets pulled too much when removing it
At least you got everything lubricated
I always fill the eng oil filter before I put it on
As they always say, “It’ll be fine. It’s fine.”
Hello Sam,you giving a pretty good show. You are natural and skillfull, don't change à bit...you're perfect!
Been using those double diaphragm air pumps for 24 years. They are super handy.
Had a 5.4 ford van do that to that to me, it sat for more than 5 min it lost all prime, would almost never start first try, have to prime it at least twice. I replaced a ton of things on that thing as it never spit a code or anything, Turned out after months of playing with it, it was the fuel pump, changed it never had the problem again. I hate problems thats not always obvious lol
I really think you got a great deal on the Volvo Sam, as always good video and I love how nothing takes that smile off your face. Great job keeping your channel family friendly there’s not that many out there that’s just one reason I enjoy your videos Sir.
On newer F-series with deutz engines there is a extra check valve mounted btw rail return and it's hose. Just a ad on piece and solves often the problem with long cranks on these slightly older ones. I can't help you with the partnumber right now. If you need it just let me know.
4:18 metric mentioned! Aaaaaah, finally!
MM77 Approved 👍🏼👍🏼
You need to grease the gaskets on the both fuel filters when you put them on. If you don't it will suck air and make it start hard
I first thought you meant it was around 20 croissants outside, but you were of course saying it was around 20 Big Mac's, which is way colder!
Nice job Sam look after it and it will look after you that’s my motto anyway lol take care and have a great week 👌👍❤️
A little tip, if you use it heavily, put the exhaust muffler outside or completely away, as this creates enormous heat build-up in the engine compartment, which causes all the seals to harden.
You know, yesterday I dropped my (full, of course) cup of milk on the kitchen floor and had to pull out all the cabinets to dry and mop behind there. And of course I felt like the world's biggest doofus that I am. At least I'm in good company with my self-induced liquid disasters. :)
One other normal problem is prefulefilter tightened to hard. Gasket interfere with check valve in filter housing.
gotch yer C.E.E. cap !! ( Curtis and Caren and Homey, oh ,and the many Georges from Brisbane !!! The land of the mighty Kookaburra and the coastal taipan !!! Good job !!! ,ya got it done !!!
Yes Yes it did look good on camera I hate to admit but I chuckled. Looks like a lifetime machine to me.
I was writing a comment long before seeing what you did (hey, I don't read descriptions!). The first thing that came to mind about the poor start? "Hey, just like my Alfa diesel, which had poor pressure sensor" - and in that case, everyone actually believed it to be the regulator itself :D Your work ethics and systematical approach is great as well!
Get setup with your Volvo dealer, they'll know the PIPs (Recalls) and the usual Suspects failure points. 20:09
