Super to hear the combine was repaired. I remember sitting in this era of Deere machines at the Minnesota State Fair on Machinery Hill.
It is very interesting to see the farmers at work. Feeding the US and the world.
great footage all around but the best part was the lad getting stoked about the combine ride
I wish you guys have done a video doing the repairs on it that would have been awesome to see and explaining all the different mechanisms that you replaced that's an awesome video Sam and it's good to see that you got the family with you again just like the other person said I sure do appreciate Matt sending us over to you because it's really interesting content that you put out just like Matt
Big thank you to all of the farmers in the U.S. !!
Good to see the family riding along.
Enjoyed the ride along bro so cheers for letting us tag along. Safe travels. Ken.
Scrappy you look at home up there nice to see you have company love the family riding with you Jeff in PA
I would have tried to save it too. New Combines and equipment are so expensive now. Good work great video. 👍 👌
More then 40 years since I picked corn with a one row New Idea. This was still a good ride. Thank you.
Nice to see it running again
Thanks for the follow up on this machine Sam!! The recon mission for the 6620 was the first video i watched of yours, thinking man this guys a heck of a operator for sure. Still running a 6600 myself. As a teenager back in the late 80s i remember the titan ll being introduced in the john deere day movies. Thanks again sam!!
I didn’t realize the combine was that old! I think you’re right about jacking up to grease like doing a kingpin. Excellent intro also
Pretty cool to see yeild mapping on an old girl
Regarding jacking the axle up to grease it, that is what I had been taught all my life, for all machines and I taught my mechanics the same.
That’s a nice 6620 combine. I like seeing those older machines still working.
Guys im just like yall. I absolutely love the older machines and seeing them used and seeing the awesome steps it takes to keep them up and running perfect.
Nice video -- thanks. Good to learn a little bit about combining. I drove truck from SoCal to New England regularly back in the late '70s mostly on I-80 and watched the progress of the crops all season, from planting through the harvest. Farmers and truck drivers -- both very dependent on the weather. Glad Matt sent me over to your channel -- great content!
Yes! Old glory alive again. Was hoping for an update.
Good to See You Sam & Scott, I’m Glad You were Able To get The Ole’ Deere Back In the Field!
Glad to see it back in action!
Nice combine, looks to be well maintained and runs pretty smooth, hope you all had good yields on this years crops, enjoyed ride along and listening in on conversations, thanks for the video young man.
Those combines are amazing pieces of machinery.
Nice rig! I've ran 2 different 7700 and an 8820. Ive never been around a side hill model, thanks for showing it off.
You just can’t keep a good Titan down 💯👍 that’s a fantastic piece of equipment 👍
Awesome to see the old girl back in action 😁 great Job love the Channel keep up the Amazing Work !!!!!
Great video and love how they saved the machine
Good video. That was a job to recover the machine and get it up and running again. People do not realize how much maintenance and upkeep combines require. And, I’m glad you were able to find the sidehill parts.
Good update, glad the 6620 is back in service!
Definitely a nice older Deer. Y’all have some nice farm ground in ur area. I done a lot of well pads in y’all’s area
Good to see the old girl running good again! Sincerely your local deere guys!
Awesome opening soundtrack and credits, Sam 👍👍👍
Good to see the 6620 in action again
My neighbor "Farmer John" has an 80s John Deere combine. I never knew how complicated one of those things was unril I helped him change belt and screen settings to go from soybeans to rye. Literally hundreds of different settings and a manual the size of a telephone book to tell you how to set it depending on the crop and dryness. Great video, liked it much!
The newer combines do a lot better job driving themselves. I worked in a Deere dealership in the early 1980s (1980-1985) and we were selling the earlier 4400-7700 series combines then. I was the controller. My wife owns farm ground here in Illinois and my brother in law and nephew farm it so I enjoy thes farming posts.
What a great adventure thank you so much for bringing us along.
Great to see that machine came back!
Thanks for sharing
awesome as always.thanks for sharing and taking us along.
Great video. I would like to see a video that explains how a combine works.
Check out Larson Farms. They do farming videos but in the off season they work on there own equipment. Good people and a great channel.
I remember it was always hard to find parts when that was a new combine, can imagine how hard it is now.
Very cool stuff.
That's a nice combine
Another GOOD one 👍 👍 👍 👍 👍
God bless our farmers.
Good video!!!
Reminds me of when I was a kid on the farm riding with my uncle in his combine
HEY! Good morning Sam! thumbs UP!!
That’s cool ! When that broke it was the first video of Scrapy Ind. I seen.
Great video thanks Sam
Only once ever in a combine and it was an older model, I think the early 90`s, anyway after about 200yards I was almost cross-eyed watching the corn go through, good job I wasn't driving. How they used to do acres at a time I don't know.
I love John deere tractors and equipment
Something different!! Maybe you are on to a topic that has not been done on KZhead? Great video. INFORMATIVE
Side hill center pivots!
Great video today. Different than the usual but very interesting. By the way, was that Matt in the background at 2:56? It looked like his trademark plaid blue shirt. Haha. He can’t hide from us. 😂 😂😂 If you guys were in Pakistan, they would have welded that axel back together and straightened out all of the side panels. Hahaha
Still at 18%? Guess I don't know when this was recorded. Good to see the machine back together. Bit like going back in time.
He said November 25.
Sam, how many acres are there? It looks to be very big fields. Never seen this view before. Really says alot about crop collecting. Sam
MM77 Approved 👍🏼👍🏼
❤
Here in central Illinois auger wagons are mandatory today.
On the refueling hoses on the C-130 that refuels the helicopters. 2 each, on on each end, piece of wire. It acts like that snap ring. Granted that was over 30 years ago. Not sure if it has changed.
They said why the moisture stayed higher in corn this year was because of the lack of UV rays because of the smoke from the forest fires in Canada. We had record yields this year in Southwestern Ohio, also cost where record high.
👍🏻🍻
Hi mate
Most people do not realize a new machine with both heads is now north of $1M.
Couldn't you just add a grease fitting on the top side? Or would it just weaken the metal?
Nice all fixed up. On a good day can you cover 50 acres?
The Millenial Farmer would want to know what you're doing with such a small corn head, . Nice to see older machines still at work that don't need the government bug juice injection.
What is that variety of corn used for? Animal feed, cornflour, cornflakes or something else?
Great video. Thanks for sharing. About our walk around. If I may be so bold, why don't you add extra grease nipples? Surely, that would ease your worry of not having to revisit the same damage, not to mention expenses again, in the future. After all, it's not difficult to add, just time-consuming, and if you make a video of it for KZhead, then you'll make enough money to pay for the parts and some when we watch, comment, and give it the thumbs up 👍😁🇬🇧🇺🇦⚒️
It was a good decision to repair than toss an otherwise well-working machine. It sure cost money and time - but I bet the average farmer has more time than money - and buying another harvester would have been a more financial challenge. Thanks for sharing !
I’m curious they mentioned that they can’t irrigate this field. Why is that?
😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
Couple more years and your kid will be driving it on the flatter spots
See if you ask you get the rest of the story thanks
Wow. Those beans look kinda scraggly…..
Sam, Who and how is the great videoinig? Matt is not along doing that is he? Sam
Fix it and it will last forever
Five minutes of repair work....and 28 minutes of combining corn… Yawn
FYI, there is fast forward or delete button.
