We take our fresly restorated Land Rover Discovery 3 2.7L TDV6 down into the Western Alps between France and Italy for a intense Shake Down. Hopefully, it will not fail on the trail and makes it back home under its own power. Hope you enjoy watching our little adventure.

“In Germany everything is forbidden but in Switzerland it was never allowed” 😂😂😂❤
This is so true...😅
That’s great line 😂😂😂
Hilarious! Stunning place to visit. But, I felt like walking on egg shells the whole time I was there.
But what about Italy? 🇮🇹
@@michaelcaton9358it‘s forbidden in Italy too but they don’t care about. 😉
Never failed to be impressed by just how well organised you guys are. Fantastic video as always guys!
Editing makes everything look easy
To only have missed 1 clamp after a full rebuild is extremely good, you should both give yourselves a big pat on the back. Your trip looked awesome ❤
Both total legends....👍🙂
🤗🙋♀️
I love that you both have a great sense of humour in a crisis ❤ well done Christian 👍
Dear Vera & Christian, So impressive as always and extremely inspirational. I just love watching what you do with your Discos. Making an expedition to the Alps was an adventurous test run and you made it! Well done and a very beautiful video, Thank you so much.

“We’re not going to show how to make coffee, this is not a Toyota channel” 😂👌
Well we toyota owners don't have to fix our vehicles on the side of the light trail so we can focus on brewing that perfect cup of coffee
Well said!
You two are truly two wonderful people 🙏🏴
🤗🙏🙋♀️
My favourite viewing over Sunday breakfast, thanks to you both.
You should be nominated for a Nobel prize for "making a brand new discovery"!
i have an '90 toyota hilux surf that i drove a few years ago from southern california up to northern alberta. A coolant hose broke in northern idaho (the middle of nowhere), on sunday afternoon with almost no cell service. We had no water or tools with us. I was able to get someone to come out 40 miles from the closest town for a tow and he got us back to the o'reilly's 30 minutes before closing. I bought 1 foot of hose, a pair of pliers and some coolant. We fixed it in the parking lot and were back on the road, only a couple hours behind schedule. I know exactly the feeling you must have had when all that steam blasted out (except for the part where 50 000 people would be watching). Those are the things that make a trip memorable, and thats why we drive the old stuff.
But the best thing in the US is, that whenever you are in a town, no matter how small it is, there is at least a Napa autoparts store then. 😃👍We lived in Michigan for almost 10 years and drove out West every summer in our Jeep. When we visited Utah and Cali this August, we went to a O'Reillys for the first time. 👍🙋♀️
Very brave to go on a long trip with an untried vehicle, but looked a real experience. Glad you both got back safely and now Christian can investigate the hiccups.
Thank you so much for taking us along with you on your Alps trip. Love your videos. Safe travels
Brilliant video and stunning views. Vera is a miniature powerhouse when it comes to fitness. I'm really surprised you're not towing a Sankey workshop trailer Christian. I'm glad you got home, okay? At least we are guaranteed more videos on you fault finding the transfer case and propshaft
Our tools we take are dialed in to what is absolutely necessary. 👍🙋♀️
@@Vera_and_Christian that craftsman box is like a tardis
@@AW-Services Oh yes, and I would never trade it, ever 😃👌🙋♀
Fantastic drive. Thanks.
Such fantastic views. Reminds me of driving over the alps too many years ago. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you so sharing your great adventure. Glad you guys are safe. Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦.
very impressed with Veras tenacious biking!
And now I know the trip I want to take next spring. Thank you guys for the excellent footage.
Great trip, amazing mountain views.
Fabulous trip with awesome scenery and amazing views. Even better, you made it home and only had minor post-build niggles to deal with - brilliant!
Fantastic vlog, always entertaining. Would love to see the routes you take, scenery breathtaking, and only minor issues with the Disco after a full restoration is a win. Thank you for sharing, looking forward to next Sunday
Great video - thankyou both
Epic journey and successful test of your rebuild Amazing thanks!
Another excellent video, calm and logic dealing with the problems. Really enjoyed the footage of the mountain scenery, YT channels like yourself are great for seeing other countries in a "virtual" way. Thank you.
Great video as always - thank you guys
Nice work! That must be very rewarding.
wow amazing views, I admire you both on keeping calm with all those problems on the discovery.
Hi Christian and Vera thanks for the video 👏
You're such a joyful couple. Delightful to see your LR progress and excursions in it. The air must have been so fresh up there in the swiss alps. Majestic views to wake up to.
Wonderful - love your spirit for adventure and good cheer, even when things seem to be falling apart!
Excellent as always 😊
Just such great content folks. Im on holiday in paradise here in Koh Samui. I still found time to watch your adventures with my favourite LR vehicle. Brilliant. Funny and so jnformative.

That’s a pretty serious test drive after a full rebuild. Good job you have a fitter on board.
Wow that's a shake down trip indeed. Glad you got there and back😁 hopefully no chips in the oil and time to make the kitchen box. Great work guys.
'There And Back' guarantee, by Christian. That is some fine country side and great night stops.👍👍🙂
Great shakedown run - ofcourse you guys were soo well prepared to resolve as much as you could with what you had. Looks like a bit of drivetrain investigation and you guys will be home free. Looks forward to the next video hopefully sorting out a few snags 👍
Amazing footage from the mountains, I love to drive in the Austrian mountains, the views are spectacular. Thanks for your great content.
Great test drive
Fantastic videos, great sense of humour
I enjoyed this episode, how Christian keeps his cool, I will have to get some of it.
Brilliant, he looks and acts like like a mechanic, great to see under pressure
Well done guys 😊
Outperforming ASPW here on the scenery front and entertainment throughout with a few mechanical gremlins. Great Work !
Nice Work!
you guys fix everything together 😊 one thing i noticed in all this, was ..."Look, you cut the best piece off...." 😂
great video, well done on the rebuild top class,we are all waiting with baited breath for the next installment to see the transfer case oil🙂
Well done. Excellent result, and fun times for you.
Good that you had a great trip, after a big rebuild you do get teething troubles but you sorted them out, it was a good test of the rebuild
Another great Sunday morning adventure with you 2 coffee and entertainment see you next sunday .Happy Trails
You two are awesome! Top notch!
Great video guys. Very enjoyable and entertaining to watch. 👍🏼❤️
Perfect! You are two hero’s! 😊
What a great trip, makes me envious of all the history you have to see there. Over the years I lost count of the number of times I had to top up from a mountain stream. When I built my own Turbo-diesel Series 109, I didn't get the cooling right, so I had to stop frequently on trips into the mountains to let things cool. The altitude and road grades really test your vehicle. Glad you had a good trip and I hope you have nice clean oil at the end of it.
Fantastic, very well done with surprisingly few OMGs 😄 I always enjoy your trip videos .. and this one was extra special. Sunday can now begin
Well done, very entertaining.
Absolutely brilliant
Another great video,well done both.👍
Great video as always. You guys make me laugh so much with your humour. If those are the only issues after a complete rebuild, that’s pretty good. Well done you guys.
😅👍I think so too. I have put on 6000km by now and running so great. 🙋♀️
Great vid again. Go ahead. Great landscape.
What a THRILLER:) Regards from Poland!
Excellently entertaining and fun video to watch, I love ❤️ your sense of humours, hello from Ireland ☘️
Wow super alpine journey in a super LR3 with one of those great engines 👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks For Sharing Best wishes From Liverpool UK Not a LR owner but worked for Ford jaguar and Land rover
I envy you Christian. For so many reasons. Thank you for the Sunday morning update
Beautiful Alps. Can you share the route of your drive on the Alps?
I would also love to see that, looks amazing for gravel biking
Very very beautiful scenery!! Love seeing the Alps!! ❤❤ I love watching the Land Rover drive nicely! If always feels good to properly fix and be able to drive a well taken care of vehicle many miles / km's! Hugs to Vera and Christian!
I have been putting on 6000km ever since the rebuild and it drives like a swiss watch. Love it so much. 👍👌🙋♀️
Well done guys amazing trip thank you 🙏 and a Chinese tool came in handy!!
Brilliant! Just did body off LR4, replaced turbos, new air intakes, new oil pump, new water pump, vacuum hoses, coolant hoses, and 5w 40, new brake pipes whilst the body was off, body back on and guess what, thought the cross over pipe was leaking and so, body back off, it turned out to be a crack in the EGR exhaust pipe and so new egr and pipe fitted.. body back on and so far, all is well, fingers crossed 😅
👌👍And Body off on a LR4, especially a newer one, is much easier than on 17 year old rusty old LR3. 👍 🙋♀️
Christian has taught me so much tackling jobs i would never have tried before. You both are top notch with landrovers
👌💪🙋♀️
Simply superb.
Great episode, one of the best!
Fabulous. What beautiful scenery. The engine sounds really good. The electrical system always lets, Land Rover down.
Never had a electrical issue. All you have to do is take care of your ground points ( and know where they are ) and don‘t let water get inside. That even goes for Toyotas.👍🙋♀️
Love your humour guys, your bravery touring in a Disco and your German ! 😊 ❤
I have learned so much from your videos
I'm a car tech from Texas.....you guys are absolutely hilarious and fun in your everyday interactions with each other. I enjoy your humor very much!
Just brilliant guys interesting, compelling and most of all the humor in the face of diversity is fantastic to watch please keep it up some of the best stuff on KZhead.
Well done , I find it a joy addressing all the Land rover gremlins . It's always worth it . Great video !!! ... (2007 RRS 4.4 owner )
Great video. I had slapping chains in the transfer case of my ML. The local transmission shop fixed it though.
👍 Wow. Well done! (Especially for Vera cycling up that mountain...) Looking forward to you figuring out if you really do have some form of lasting issue (that hasn't worked itself out during your shake-down trip).
Great Success 😉 That steak looked perfect 👌🏻
Thank you for sharing the trip with us, very enjoyable, and discovering the technical problems, they were all Vera's fault, she's supposed to monitor quality control OMG.
Love you guys, really enjoy your videos
Excellent video guys,,I never seem to be amazed by your work and brilliant content, stunning scenery and great to see your road side repairs 👍Switzerland is so so constipated 😂when it comes to letting it go….
