  • 6:06 Incorrect information. Marbled cats are found widely from in Himalayan areas, southwest China, Myanmar, Thailand, Vietnam, Laos, Malaysia to Indonesia. Most of its population are in Himalayan foothills, Sumatra of Indonesia, and Myanmar-Thailand forests. Their current status is "near threatened" as of most of the wildlife whose habitat was shrunk by human's city expansion but they're not at risk of extinction yet.

To name just two of those countries since I have lived and live in both. And seen them in the wild in said countries.... • The snow leopard has the longest documented jump among cat species. One is documented by a team of scientists to have jumped 11.7 meters (38 feet and 4.5 inches) across a cleft. Comically, their designated camera man was still fumbling for the camera, when the leopard vanished out of sight. It illustrates how shy the snow leopard is, though; there are people who have studied snow leopard for decades, and have never seen one live in nature, and hardly anyone has seen more than fleeting glimpses. The jump was precisely measured, using footprints in pristine snow. Since snow leopards are so elusive, and sightings are so rare and fleeting, there's no record of how high they can jump. However, based on their body mechanics and such rare observations as the aforementioned long jump, some estimate that it may be capable of jumping as high as 6 meters; that's twice as high as the caracal, which has the highest _documented_ jump. The snow leopard also lives in the area where that cat family emerged, i.e. the Himalayas, and may be the closest living relative of the first feline species. I just thought someone should mention this.

  • No one should rely on this video for facts. There are some egregious errors, presumably due to sloppy script writing. Thankfully, most of the errors are fairly obvious, such as - tigers weighing a whopping 20 kg, - cats "amazingly" climbing up trees head first, and - cats "amazingly" moving along branches, with their belly towards the branch.
