Be An Alder Bush, Not An Oak
Life rarely goes according to plan. Often we get so fixated on the goal or destination we don’t enjoy the journey. The trail to any worthwhile destination is never straight or easy, but in the trials and tribulations we come to see, understand, and reap the essence and beauty of life.
Whatever it is,,, start now. Don’t quit. Learn when to go around the roadblocks and when to run through them. Learn to embrace the detours. Sow seeds into others. Eventually opportunities will come, and you will find your “sweet spot”.

Yesterday in church I highlighted a verse that you just exactly explained at the 10 minute mark....amazing how God works in your life. I've never noticed this verse even though I've read it and now you say the exact same thing. I can truly see how that has worked in my life, and I think when you gather little by little you have much more respect for the things you gather. The verse is Proverbs 13:11 Wealth gained hastily will dwindle, but whoever gathers little by little will increase it.

Thank you Billy for your words and your time and as usual I totally get what you are saying. My life has been exactly as you described with all the twists and turns I never expected. Every 10 years or so when I feel like I got things figured out I look back and remember that I felt the same way 10 years prior. Now that I'm in my 70s I realize that I'll never have everything figured out so it's a never ending process. Now I just roll with the punches and keep walking.I hope that makes sense.
