  • Germany, from my experiences there in the 1960s, was an eye opener from a hick from upstate New York. Hate to tell you this, but Western Europe is much more beautiful that most of the USA, although America has advantages of size and climate, and is wonderful in its own right. The Germans are a remarkable people, intelligent, honest and direct. And handsome, too. Yeah, I know, I really like the Germans.

  • Such a beautiful country. We have vacationed in Switzerland, Austria and Germany each year for the past 60 years. It was much closer when we lived in UK for 30 years but now that we live in San Francisco, California, it involves long arduous flights and many inconveniences. But the reward of beautiful landscapes, history, and great food, wine, beer and of course ladies more than compensates for our suffering the agonies of world travel these days. I am so in love with Germany that I married a German beauty who I met on the Ski Slopes of Engelberg 53 happy years ago. Thanks so much for this fantastic and comprehensive video. One of the few regions not covered in your video is Alsace, Strassbourg on the border with France. Another jewel is Lake Bled in Slovenia.

  • This wonderful film hits the scale between athmosphere, the landscape... and how much you want/should/must show and tell. The result ? Well, where to start: Brillant, ähm... perfect, ...and a beautiful voice, ...a super Camera-Team, giving the smooth movements, finally composed by a proffessional film cut... well chosen music... Ej ! It`s like dancing slowly through our south here, enabling me to see the things from above, which once I visited as a child, or 20 years later... which maybe is already 20 years ago as well... Lifetime is running :) So I remember my grandparents from those days, take one or two tears... and just enjoy this beautiful film, drinking wine from a cup, because I don`t want to leave or interrupt the film :) Take this home: You hit the nail to this subject, ...which in truth is not as easy... because so many many films have been made already. Thank you very much :) Standing ovations to all of you !

  • Germany is probably one of the most beautiful countries in the world. How they built back after the two world wars (mainly WWII) is amazing. And yes, I realize the allies had a big part in that rebuild also. I have been several times from 1980 to 2011 and each time there was always so much more to see. A very good friend taught kindergarten on an army base for 13 years back in the 80’s to early ‘90’s and I was fortunate to visit her several times and travel during the summer with her. Would love to go back one last time to see some of what we missed.

    • very little was rebuild. most large cities are ugly as fuck thanks to the bombing of civilians in ww2 by the allies and also thanks to the modernist architects who then moved in and ruined whats left of those cities. that's why there is a saying in german. first came the bombers and then the city destroyers.

    • Germany wasn't exactly rebuild after the war. At least not all of it. The important buildings were rebuilt but all the regular houses, some of them also very, very old, were mostly replaced by cheaper buildings if they were too damaged. Some cities really tried to rebuild as much as possible but lacked the financial possibilities. And in eastern germany the soviets treated the german buildings like trash. They even blew up parts of an important castle to film a movie. Germany will never look like it used to look. Back then they hadn't the money and today nobody cares anymore. And well, the allies partly helped. Not in rebuilding but in supporting germany economically and caring for the people after the war. But the motivation was very different. The USA wanted a shield against the soviets, the french and british actually wouldn't have helped at all if it wasn't for the USA. Especially the hurt pride of the french would have ended in a disaster if others wouldn't have watched them. The help of the soviets can't really called help. They put people into concentration camps, even germans that had nothing to do with the nazis. They brutally raped the population, killed hundreds of thousands during the occupation, enforced their ideology on them and also used them as a shield against the west. Eastern germany had a really hard time.

  • When at 23:14, the video dissolves to the lake dotted with sailboats, impossibly backdropped by such an incredible mountain-scape, it almost took my breath away! Thank you for such beauty brought to us by your team!

  • I live next to Burg Hohenzollern 4:52. As children we only had to cross a small hidden path up a hill, little bit dangerous^^, and we were knights with our selfmade wooden swords up that castle hill. Beautiful times, today this isn't possible for children, the castle mountain is closed.
