It's Xhosa, not Xhosi. Also the language is isiXhosa. Please forgive me, I only have so much room in my brain and sometimes it squeezes out letters.
Don't feel bad people in our country still say it incorrectly. Lol.yes I am South African .
I spotted Meek's arm on the far right of the collectors weapon stash, just saying
I was about to drag you, lol
I'm not accepting the apology...you must give me money...lol
Well done on the correction. Enkosi 🙏🏽
Fun Fact: Djimon Hounsu voiced Black Panther in the animated motion comics during 2006. Seeing and hearing him together with Chadwick Boseman was an awesome moment in the Black Panther legacy.
He was my favourite part lol. He played a Star Lord Stan very well 😂 when he scalded nebula was gold.
Facts
So awesome!
I love Hounsu. He was so great in Never Back Down. "Bwead. Control de outcome.'
i know
I like how this version of the Collector is absolutely jacked, and very willing to throw hands, while still maintaining that endearing personality we all fell in love with Guardians of the Galaxy
I love the willing to throw hands part lmao
My question is... How the hell did he become so god damn buff?
@@WaterFlame3030 maybe took some Super Soldier serum, he got Captain America’s shield after all :v
@@WaterFlame3030 could be augments, or perhaps even magic, hard to say exactly

Fun detail missed: When Thanos screams after being hit in the leg, it’s the reused scream of him from infinity war when they put him to sleep to get the gauntlet off!
I was about to comment about that, thanks for saving me time 😂
You still used up time to comment this 😂
When first hearing the scream I thought of Infinity war, but didn’t think they’d reuse a scream lol. Thanks for being my back up
Another missed detail, when it shows the collector's weapons, all the way to the right, you can see Miek's arm from his robotic suit.
I thought i was the only one who thought of that
I think the second episode is a love letter for Chadwick Boseman: his charisma is so strong, even it can change Thanos' mind
@Miguel Messina get woke go broke
@Miguel Messina incels like him usually talk in repetitive bs slogans, do don't take any notice.
This was made before he died 🤦♂️
@Miguel Messina I agree! I love ep 2 the best, so far.
@@blowc1612 but at the end, they honored him
When thanos said "Not crazy... mad" That was the coolest part tome
Yeah🔥
Yeah i laughed so hard on that part. 🤣
I literally jumped no cap 😂
Reminded me of Banners "I'm always angry"
Then he loses so easily to tier 2 villians
When Thanos says "mad" referring to his former title of Mad Titan and him sounding more like his MCU version
No shit 😂
I was confused when nebula said he couldn’t take them all… like he was the mad titan who is capable of welding infinity stones
I think it is more of a reference to hulk “im always angry” line but yeah he’s also called mad titan in the comics
Im mad a lil that they made Thanos so weak, Helas horns so weak and the fact that Thanos is way toooo nice and easy to change his mind like not even the galaxy and in the comics not EVEN THE UNIVERSE AND THE MULTIVERSE LAWS could change him also the fact that he was gettung beaten by the black order or that they didnt have dialouge like “You Used to be a god!”- proxima
Yeah I noticed that too!
I like that this episode simultaneously gave us "the infinity saga never happened/ no blip" and The universe was gonna end anyway coz of Ego. That's a lot of implications from a 30 minute episode xD
I mean, I would take a 50/50 chance on living from Thanos then ego eradicating life in multiple planets.
@@potato1094 …I see what you did there
You didn't mention how the dog that was in The Collector's collection clearly loved Thanos at the party at the end. Maybe referencing the old belief that dogs can tell if you're a bad person. Meaning Thanos is completely reformed.
that dog. that dog is cosmo the space dog!
@@nathanthompson3148 Yeah, and in the comics Cosmo is intelligent, and can talk telepathically! I was hoping they might throw that in here...
Thanos is always a good
Thanos isn't bad nor good, just misunderstood.
Dogs don't lie, so yes, you are right.
It was eerily refreshing to see Thanos as a non homicidal despot and engaged in normal conversation.
I felt sad when he lost so easily to cul obsidian and proxima midnight. He is different now, but he is THANOS!
Normal conversation = why my plan to kill half the universe wasn’t technically genocide.
He's still slightly genocidal, but a lot more chill and less likely to act on his plans for mass murder
@@BingBangPoe Idk about all that. They could've kept Thanos's power level consistent, and like he gets barraged by the entire army, kind of like how Hulk gets shot by the entire army of Chitauri in the first Avengers. Then, Nebula comes to save him. Kinda ridiculous that ONLY two of the "Children of Thanos" can kick his ass.

The end credits tribute to Chadwick was a real tear jerker for me. RIP my friend.
Chadwick is just so charming and amazing that he saves the entire galaxy
I never thought I’d see a Marvel feature where Thanos pats a dog
What if......Thanos loved puppers?
Only reason why he did that is because if he followed the path of his main mcu self and snapped away half of all dogs, John wick would kill him lmao.
I loved how they referenced Nelson Mandela in this episode. As a South African I couldn't be more proud. First of all, Madiba not only speaks isiXhosa which is the official language of Wakanda, but IsiXhosa is one of eleven official languages of South Africa. Also, John Kani, who voices T'Chaka (T'Challa's father) is also one of our national treasures in South Africa when it comes to arts and culture, film and literature and a pride of the Eastern Cape, a province here in South Africa which majority of the people are Xhosa. I don't know how this ties with Ronan, but in The Guardians of The Galaxy Volume 1, the Accuser holds up his hammer with the power stone as he stares at the people of Xander and says, "people of Xander, your salvation is at hand. . . ISANDLA". Isandla is a Xhosa word for hand. It's a little Easter Egg so many people overlooked in that movie.
So the Alphabet for the words from the wakandan ship, it's IsiXhosa?
@@joey-if7zq unfortunately, no.
That's so cool!
😳
@@joey-if7zq I think it was created for the movies as each symbol represents the alphabet we know so its a one for one translation if that makes sense.
Just love how they treated Chadwick like he's Martin Luther King in this one, he literally got Thanos on his side 👏

It's unpleasantly unrealistic, but ok, at least we got to see who Nebula would be with 99% less trauma...

Loved the ending. Everything was too good to be true and happy that when Ego showed up to Peter I was like “oh crap, he needed to be Star Lord to stop Ego”.
What makes you think this Ego didn't kill Peter's mom...this Peter can very well flip when he finds that out
I absolutely loved that they showed how much of a threat the collector could've been if only they hadn't downplayed him. Such a wasted character imo
Yeah. And he could have probably challenge either the Avengers or The Grandmaster to a duel similar to his fights as an Elder of the Universe in the comics.
I mean he could still be alive in the mcu we never saw what actually happened to No Where in infinity war
He was still a little down played in this episode as well, I mean he used three weapons in the beginning and went the rest of the fight with just his bare fists, is he was smart he would use the rest of his giant arsenal
A Collector and Grandmaster scene/subplot would be great fun.
I feel like we will see more from him in the future of the MCU given that we didn't see him die + that Loki ship easter egg..
You missed the detail where everyone is laughing about punching skrulls, but taser face stops halfway through his laugh, perhaps hinting that he is a skrull...

I need to see Peter quill and ego as a wholesome father son evil villain duo conquering the universe.
We still might. There are more episodes left.
It'd be a very short episode
I can see Thanos donning the infinity gauntlet to fight them.
Ego would just go through with his plan of enveloping all planets he planted himself on and assimilating the universe. And since you don't have Peter to fight him, almost no one can fight him and hope to win (except with infinity stones)
the ship being named the “mandela” works the level of this being a story that we don’t remember as the watcher puts it. so it plays into the whole “mandela effect” thing as well
For some reason, Thanos talking about the snap to anyone reminds me of Gearhead talking about the Gear Wars

@@kindplanet1 I honestly would understand this not getting a lot of likes as a comment, seeing as that reference is a bit of a long shot, but if you look at the POV the whole way through its basically all the same except in What if we didnt see the disgusting anatomy like we did in Jack the giant slayer where the bean travels down to the stomach and we can actually see that happening.
Exactly what I was thinking. I even thought that he would have referenced it
Missed something: while using Hela's headpiece, the Collector calls the weapon it created a Necrosword - that's the name of All-Black, the first symbiote made by the evil god Knull, also used by Gorr the God Butcher, who's going to be an enemy in "Thor: Love & Thunder"
“A necrosword” not “the necrosword”
@Sentinel Prime well that was a retcon in the comics so it's HIGHLY unlikely
Someone went to screen crush
@@Lipbuzz Yeah, but seeing as the sword was the ANCESTOR of the symbiotes, these necroswords could be a form of proto-symbiote.

The collector might have a knowledge of the multiverse, that would explain how he obtained the items in his collection since some items was not available.
With this being a different universe, isn’t it possible that all of these items have a different history than what we’re used to? Like maybe Cap was thawed out in the 90s in this universe. Maybe Hela was defeated earlier too. The change here was an alien abduction in 1988, so everything afterwards could have led to all the ships and weapons being available for the collector.
Best episode of What If so far. Star-studded cast, it’s nice to see a mix of them in just one episode.
16:00 I haven't seen anyone else yet, besides me, pointing out that Miek's arm is on the far right of the weapon case. If he had Korg's arm, then logically he could have Miek's as well.
I knew it looked familiar, I feel like that weapon crate is full of easter eggs
Thank you! The hammer and sword are also both there from Ragnarok, the sword is one of the duelswords Thor uses and the weird hammer is seen when Thor and Korg are talking right before the fight against Hulk (it appears above and next to Korgs head)
I believe the sword on the right traps the souls of it's victims, I advise not being killed by it

Tchalla's absence had a rippling effect leading to cap emerging sooner, or maybe not at all. Odin might have died sooner, releasing Hela, etc.
The dery queen that Peter worked at was the first thing that Ego destroyed
The abilities of the embers of genesis reminded me a lot of Ex Nihilo. He’s a Gardener who basically possesses the same powers. They might be connected somehow, I don’t know.

I thought it was a mining pod from the escape from Nowhere scene in GOTG 1.

Quill: No, you are not. You will not be taking our pod today, sir.
“Embers of Genesis” seems to be a callback to Star Trek ll: The Wrath of Khan, where “Project Genesis” was developed to terraform a dead planet to one full of life.
I feel like The Collector is somehow able to navigate the Multiverse and maybe thats how his collection is so vast.
13:26 This painting, which hangs in the hallway in Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout at Disney's California Adventure, is my absolute FAVORITE piece of MCU lore. Family games nights must have been VERY interesting at their house lol. I was really worried that this episode would tarnish the aspects of T'Challa's character that I love. Instead, it really showed how he could be a force for good no matter where he was or who he was with. Absolutely loved it. RIP to the King.
This episode was a BANGER🔥🔥🔥
The collector also had time stone... In the, his weapon collection he had the eye of aggamotto...
16:48 I think it’s a reference to infinity war, when Quill said “for the record this was my plan” when trying to take the gauntlet from Thanos, Tony’s plan was to drop a tiny meteor on Thanos when he’s talking to Strange. Quill improvised sticky fingers where he learnt from Yondu, hence the GOTG theme. Probably a reach though 🤷♂️
