I cried laughing when Tony died because I genuinely thought Shield fucked up making the serum. They acted so cool before accidentally murdering him.

Loki as Fury getting in Hank's face, saying "You murdered [Thor] just because you could?" just straight up HURT. Loki didn't want Thor dead at this point. Resentment or no, he still loves his brother.

To be fair it's mostly hank pyms tech that is overpowered. Scott isn't a scientist so he probably wouldn't be able to study what little information was available on the hulk at the time and realize that making his heart giant could kill him

@@Justin-td2er his heart might be indestructible, but I imagine that nobody - or, to be more accurate, no body - is made to be capable of handing its blood pumping organ, and likely all of the blood cells and such inside it, being oversized in comparison to the rest of the body. Or to put it in simpler terms, Pym particles can make ANYTHING bigger or smaller, and most things work by having their insides smaller than their outsides.
This entire episode feels like a love letter to all the fan jokes about how antman could kill thanos.

No this entire episode feels like a Marvel Rip Off, of Batman Mask of the Phantasm. The BEST BATMAN MOVIE OF ALL TIME! But hey at least we get the comic/Marvel accurate Yellowjacket, instead of some nobody who was introduced in the movies just to take on the role as Yellowjacket instead of Hank Pym, who actually originated in comic books.

As far as Thor smelling of lavender, even in death, it's worth pointing out that according to multiple mythologies, angels (and their analogues) smell of flowers, regardless of situation.

@@ikebirchum6591 So technically speaking Hank was right. Shield DID kill Hope since it was the Winter Soldier who attacked Natasha on that mission and he was a Hydra agent who were working within SHIELD.
I feel like not enough people are talking about Hawkeye’s death here. He was in denial of committed a murder he knows he didn’t do and he had a family, just to die pointlessly. Hell, all of the deaths were super unfair. Hell, none of them deserved it. Especially at where they were in at each of their lives.

I can't believe this is only the second time that Betty Ross has ever appeared in the MCU. Between that, bringing back Thunderbolt Ross, and the return of Abomination, it feels like TIH was being kind of phased out of the series but is now being brought back to the fold.
It's like the SW Prequel trilogy coz no one liked it when it came out and now all of a sudden people likes them

When Hank kills Thor, do you think it was a favor to Kang in exchange for the future tech he used to kill the Hulk? Because when asked why he killed Thor, he responded it was a favor and Loki seemed to not know about this when he questioned him. Also, who can have knowledge of tech that can kill the Hulk.

You know what’s weird is that in the original Avengers Tony says how “there is no version of this where you come out on top” to Loki, yet here it is.
Maybe because at the time, Tony didn't think about alternate time lines actually existing.

Only thing that didn’t make sense was the Thor and the casket at the end. He wasn’t a planned avenger and shouldn’t have his body returned to Asgard to be buried there
I think that’s because Loki didn’t go back to Asgard he stayed on earth so there’s no way to get Thors body back
@@KingTwonB23 Okay but his casket had a really cleanly designed Mjölnir emblem on it. Either SHIELD was able to figure out who Thor was showed up and designed a casket in the exact same style as those of the other Avengers BEFORE Loki showed up, or SHIELD’s graphic design team was working really hard during the 24 hours that Loki was conquering the planet.

Another part of that "Maybe Middle Earth" line: Tolkien got "Middle Earth" from Norse mythology. Midgard translates as "Middle Yard" or "Middle Enclosure" because it was in the center of the Nine Worlds and surrounded by a wall that protected it from things like the giants. Asgard was built the same way, the yard of the Aesir gods. So Tolkien named Middle Earth after the world of men in Norse cosmology because he built a lot of his fantasy off Norse and Germanic lore. Coulson's line is funny as a reference to the Asgardian armor, but it's actually the opposite of how the Asgardians would think of things!
True! And when Tolkiens' books were published in Sweden, they actually translated "Middle Earth" to "Midgård".
I never thought of the similarities between Tolkien’s description of how Minas Tirith was laid out and the Eddas description of how Asgard is laid out before. Good call.

Which isnt really realistic, the resizing disc only touched his heart, not his veins, so him "expanding" was just made to give this episode a darker tone.

Wow, this episode was amazing. At first I thought it was Loki behind everything using his magic to kill everyone but as soon as Betty Ross mentioned nanoscience I knew it was Yellowjacket, only I thought it was the Darren Cross version working for Hydra or something. Scary how far this Hank fell, all the ingredients were apparently there, they just needed the final push.

Hulk’s death was pretty creative, as well as the killer.

Obviously. My only complaint about the episode. Of course if it were titled along the lines of "What if Hank Pym's daughter joined SHIELD against his wishes and died in action," we would have lost some mystery.

You missed one. Pym told Fury he was pretty spry for an older fellow, like Ironman told Cap.
Pym also told Fury that killing Thor was a "favor". For who though? Maybe Loki pretended to be someone else and played everyone.
@@blazer5979 I think he meant it was a favor to Thor, based on the context. Since he was just going on about how he killed Thor because Fury would've probably tried recruiting him if he lived, so by killing Thor he "spares" him of S.H.I.E.L.D. affiliation

I loved how the one soldier that got knocked out in the back of the truck by Nat, clearly looked like he was smiling and dreaming happy things as he laid there on the ground.
When Natasha is detained, that scene is almost similar to the one in the animated movie "Black widow vs Punisher." Where instead of fury hoping Natasha escapes, it was Natasha hoping punisher escape

@@znspyder yeah. He was modelled after Hank's brain in a time where he was experiencing serious mental issues, so he inherited and made worse the negative traits that made him into a murder happy robot
Hank pym being the yellow jacket was the most bad ass thing in this episode
It especially fits because one of the running themes of The Incredible Hulk is Banner watching and learning to control his heart rate.

At this point the Incredible Hulk is just a what if episode where Banner is played by Ed Norton. The true MCU movie had Ruffalo in it

He still would be playing hulk if he didn't demand RDJ money and creative control over hulk movies. I'm kind of glad he expected too much and got replaced
The true movie would've been 30 minutes longer, a proper origin story at the beginning not just opening credits clips, and been released uncut that wouldn't have angered Edward Norton and we would've gotten a far superior look and actor to play the role who would've never agreed to the bad jokes of thor 3: DLC side-quest.

The box-line is followed up by the Hulk going into a wrath-frenzy. Just as Brad Pitt committed the wrath sin in Se7en after the line “What’s in the box?!” was said. I don’t know, I thought it was nice thou
I felt the same anxiety during this episode that I felt when I watched Infinity War. This is an alternate timeline where they don't need to follow regulations to keep an entire cinematic universe continuing. They can literally do whatever they want and kill of whomever they want.
I love how no one has plot armor in what if but obviously because this isn't main timeline canon the events don't have as much weight
@@badtemtime999 Yeah that is true, most of our love for these characters derives from their Sacred Timeline counterparts but it still hurts seeing things like this happen
@@badtemtime999 Hopefully they keep this series going. I can see some of these moments have a huge impact after they stablish the characters a bit more. Like if they kill Captain Carter in Season 3 or something like that.

My only regret about this episode is that Loki at the end didn't have a "Vote for Loki" pin on his outfit. Don't know why I expected it, but for some reason it would have made me really happy!

That won't work in the comics he'll just come back and probably kill tf outta whoever did that to him.
I mean Hank Pym is one of, if not the Smartest Person in MCU. So I wouldn’t be surprised if he has all scientific counter.
Haven't read the books in years. When and why did Hulk get an infallible "healing factor"? Some editor decided there was too much dramatic tension otherwise?
@@brianthomas2434 It was introduced decades ago (maybe Peter David's classic run? I'm not sure, though). Like part of why he's so indestructible is because he's instantly healing whatever damage you do to him. But it isn't shown all that much because he's so hard to damage to begin with. Unlike someone like Wolverine who (unbreakable bones aside) sustains damage like a normal human.
@@Tim3.14 I stopped reading comics for the most part in 1990 (DC coaxed me back for a time with the follow-up to the Death of Superman, "The Return of Superman ". My reaction to that was, "fool me once." I started David's run on Hulk from a digital collection, which Marvel has yet to complete. Several years in, I don't recall a healing factor. But obviously, there are things "healing factor " won't help you with. If Wolverine gets his head cut off, his brain will die in a few minutes, no? Hulk explodes and it all comes back together? People are only critical of Superman being too powerful. Magneto is MUCH more powerful these days than originally. If he faced the original X Men with today's level of power, he wouldn't need a Brotherhood. They'd just get in the way. The battle would be over in two pages and he'd stroll to the mansion to kill Xavier. Which, of course, is why they didn't make him that powerful. Somehow a Hulk who is impossible to kill, not difficult, impossible, is more interesting to today's fans. Got it!
I didn't realize that was Lake Bell voicing the Widow, she's a great actress and sounds like Scarlett Johansson
Kinda wish we could see more of this timeline, as Loki could be a good ruler all things considered. He ruled asgard well in ragnarok, and considering he worked with nick fury, he could be a bit wiser, more willing to listen to say heimdall, who saw hela coming before hand, meaning he could prepare for that and thanos, maybe even building a team to specifically deal with him.
He literally messed up during his time as King in Ragnarok. Spends his time fooling around and replaces the security. Which was the reason why Hella could return so easily while everyone were so ill prepared for war. He was never meant to rule well.

Yeah! A mix of hope dying and being in the suit too long seems like it would take a big toll on his mental... so it makes lots of sense!

A "things you missed" episode that only had good details would be under 2 minutes, which doesn't make KZheadrs as much money and frankly, I almost never watch videos under five minutes.

What I see happening to the Hulk was his Heart enlarges and, everything inside it grows too, including all those blood cells which then pump to the rest of the body.
The artwork for the images of the original timeline were STUNNING.
I liked this episode but wish we could get like a part 2, like we didn’t see enough of what happened after

This episode was by far my favorite. It’s just so cool seeing the phase one movies over again but now knowing that so much other stuff was going on at the same time

This is cool, but in the trailer you see a zombie ironman in the infinity war suit. And bucky has the wankandan arm which he wouldn’t have at this point. Hopefully the next episode is the marvel zombies one though

Missed detail. The fact that Hope Van Dyne is involved with SHIELD, and Potentially the Avengers initiative, means that the moment of change in this universe could have been Joss Wheden receiving the okay to put Wasp in the Avengers lineup.

I think they are! In the Avengers trailer, there's this wraparound Avengers-like shot and it seemed to be a group of characters from these stories. We'll see how it shapes up though!
