I think Gamora and Nebula have basically switched rolls since Thanos changed his mind, like Gamora could be searching for the infinity stones to finish what Thanos "couldn't" that could be why we see here with his armor on in one of the trailers. This is just my theory tho
The way Josh Brolin delivers the line, "Not crazy. Mad," gives me chills. Also the ending makes me so sad to think of what Peter's fate was because of the "failure" of Kraglin and Taserface
well it wont be so bad for him. as we saw in live action, ego tried to manipulate peter into joining him. and i think he will be okay. but the rest of universe…..

Thanos being a good guy is actually something I can get used to. He seems like a drax kinda character.
He was my favourite in the entire episode. It came off as such a surprise and a great one at that
But as he lost his evil motives he also lost his strength. Maybe it was because he didn't have a weapon and a armour. But still I expected him to be stronger.
What I don't like is how much of a joke he is. What the hell were they thinking, the guy who boxed hulk almost gets killed by his own order? And then they make him the typical marvel character with jokes and all acting like he wasn't about to fucking end half the life in the universe.

I love when T'challa is carrying Korath on his shoulder and Yondu asks him "who's the sleeping beauty?". He's referring other character as disney character, while in the original movie, he was the one referred to as the Marry Poppins.

When I first saw Nebula with blonde hair I remember thinking about how much it didn't suit her. I wondered why they didnt give her black, dark blue or even silver hair. I then realized her blonde hair is actually a callback to gotg2 when Peter called her Smurfette. I then ended up loving it lol.

I have to be completely honest… this show is pretty ridiculous and I’m not a fan of it. It’s cool to see the same characters with different stories but it’s extremely ridiculous, but it’s really funny because of the ridiculousness(especially when thanos showed up) which is gonna make me watch the rest of the episodes.
I love how T'Challa's like "This guy's a fan! I'm gonna recruit him!"
I love the little detail of the necrosword being translucent. It likely demonstrates that the sword is not longer fueled by Hela's power.
This whole episode was phenomenal. So brilliant that they didn't reveal Thanos in the trailer

Although this alternate reality is thriving, the ending shocked me. Ego must’ve taken Quill and brought him back to his planet. No one is there to stop Ego from using Quill as a battery and invading the entire universe just like how he tried to in GOTG2

With the ravengers on earth and with the help of wakanda. I think they might have a shot at stopping ego. Wakanda has to know that ego showed up too
@@tenzingmurillo No, they don’t, because wakanda couldn’t give less of a crap about the outside world. Otherwise they would’ve detected Quill being abducted in the Sacred Timeline. The universe is What If ep 2 is fucked due to stunting Quill’s storyline. And even if they did try, the only reason Ego lost was cuz Quill fought back. Why did Quill fight back? The montage of him hanging out with the Guardians and Yondu teaching him to shoot etc. And Quill hasnt met a single one of those people. I reiterate, there’s no chance of Ego losing in that verse.

The “killed my mom and squished my walkman” was also more of a ‘why quill turns against ego’ line while the montage of his friendships was the ‘how quill suddenly learns to utilize his powers’. Remember, even after Quill’s “WHAT?!” moment and finding out that Ego killed his mom, he was still defeated in an instant by Ego stabbing him with a tendril. Only the Guardian’s surprise attack stopped that

I feel like there is an intimacy between nebula and T’Challa as she calls him “Cha Cha” the entire episode. Also, making it a point to look at him with both eyes .. seemingly meaning that she is comfortable being vulnerable around him.
It parallels Peter liking Gamora.
Cha Cha is a combination from T' (Cha)lla & (Cha)dwick Boseman
That "Mad" Thanos scene also mirrors Hulk's "I'm always angry" moment.

This version of Peter Quill may join Ego's side, or being his "battery". So in my opinion Ego may become so powerful and devour many planet as there is no one could save Peter

Not necessarily. If Ego still lets slip that he put the tumor in Peter's mom as well as his plan to grow then Peter can still turn on him and possibly be more powerful by embracing the celestial part of him. Also Peter will probably want to save the earth side of his family due to now growing with them. Provided it was a healthy relationship.

You forgot to add that this specific reality/dimension is now gone, considering that Ego got Peter without his friends (also mentioned in the post credit).
Not gone, you can see in the later episode T'Challa somehow comes to rescue Peter and then Watcher recruit T'Challa and we don't know what happened when he came back to the same moment of his reality, they may have all unite (Wakanda, Peter, Thanos etc) and kick out Ego from Earth or destroy him

The fact that Karen has to shave her head everytime she plays Nebula but the fully animated Nebula has long hair feels kinda ridiculous to me. However the episode was great anyway :)

Nebula in this timeline probably never fought/lose against Gamora hence why she still had her hairs. Remember that everytime she lost against Gamora, a part of her body would be replaced with cyber part.

I could understand how T’challa caused so much good, he is a son of a royal family that must’ve taught him a lot of politics and since he was raised right with love, he’s extremely kind While Peter was also raised with kindness, he was also bullied and also had to deal with the fact that his mom was dying, this caused him to become very shut in with every one
He also was reluctant to go with yondu making him harsher
I just don’t understand why Yondu and his buddies didn’t even attempt to look for Starlord after picking up TChalla

@@baconbellypig826 Because the reasons behind the creation of Star Lord are the same: Yondu was always deeply seeking a son/family he could be proud of, so once that need was fulfilled for him, he didn’t feel the need to deliver him to his father in the live action timeline or look for Quill in the animated one. They drove it home with Yondu’s characterization in this timeline
I think, regarding young T'Challa throwing the spear, he deliberately wanted to find the edge of the forcefield so that he could explore the outside world, instead of just playing. It was already set in place when he talked about it with King T'Chaka in the palace previously.
Though just to be clear, Yondu sending taserface and kraglin(?) dunno how to spell it, was the nexus event of that universe, not T'Challa the explorer.

Hmm, exactly what Sain said. Although, I suppose when he says he wants to see the world, I assumed he meant beyond Wakanda, as their where settlements outside the city, and dome, it could have meant he had gone out in the original timeline to run around the area or something and got caught by his father or something. It is interesting to see the way it worked though
I remember after watching this episode, I looked at the trailer of it on Instagram and it showed a TVA screen that said something along this lines of “Yondu has a something for EGO THE LIVING PLANET. The Ravagers go looking for peter quill in Missouri” but “Missouri” got deleted (like backspaced on a computer) and got replaced with “Wakanda”, so I think, based on the trailer, T’challa leaving wakanda for a second was an original timeline thing, and the nexus event was the ravagers appearing and from there taking him. So you are probably right, Sain and Master.

11:00 just throwing this out there maybe wakanda made a mannequin that could be controlled by someone from wakanda and since the ship was taking the linkup these robot mannequins were separated
The ship's name "mandela" could be a reference to the mandela effect, where people think they're from a parallel universe or timeline which is similar to the premise of this show Edit: i wanted to keep the comment short at the expense of detail. I DO know what the mandela effect is but explained it poorly. YES the main meaning is nelson mandela, but of all the black historical figures mandela may have been chosen by the WRITERS (not tchalla) as an easter egg to the famous memory phenomenon.

I liked how this episode really changed everything compared to the first episode which more remade the first Capt. America movie. It didn't feel nearly as rushed either with much better pacing.

Couple that with the fact that it's confirmed that the US and Russia get new super soldiers regardless of Steve in the original timeline. Imagine the mess awaiting everyone in 2012 compared to the original timeline.
Yeah, something too crazy for the first episode would be too hard to understand for most people, so the same movie at first with one character change and then starting with the weird shit half episode in, once everyone understood the dynamic
Yeah I liked this one more than first one because it felt less rushed. One thing I don't like though is how the keep important things without the reason behind them. Like in the first episode the circle shield was Steves idea and Howards ideas were more complex. Or how in the second episode he's called starlord even though Peter picked that name because it was what his mother called him. It sort of takes out the meaning behind these details

3:52 The Mandela Effect was also named after Mandela. The Mandela Effect is just one explanation to why we remember something different than what it actually is. Some people say this is due to two universes merging into one. Kinda like how branch timelines/universes split and collide in the MCU.

When Proxima initiated the shutdown and Howard was having a drink, T'Challa ran out of luck so he had to "duck" to get through the doors. It's far fetched, but I can't think of why else would Howard randomly bring that up right before that scene.

When I heard Nebula called T'challa "Cha-cha" I know something must going on between them.. 🤣 🤣 And I love how they didn't made it clear.. And the fact that Thanos didn't pursue his idea of genocide, that means he never met and adopted Gamora, that's why Nebula is the only adoptive kid Thanos have in here..
hey, but gamora was a kid when he took her,and t'chala and gamora seemed kind of same age............. and t'chala must have convinced thanos when he was atleast in late teens(i assume, it is not easy to convince thanos), so how does this add up??
@@sirshadebnath4283 It does if you consider T'Challa spoke to Thanos early on, as the child still. Perhaps ran across him immediately before Thanos arriving at Gamora's world. Hers being the first one he didn't sacrifice. It kind of hints that he at least wrecked a few worlds before T'Challa met him, but none after.
Technically the black order are the adopted children of Thanos as well.

I noticed when Nebula was telling T'Challa about the heist, the Ant-Man heist music starts playing in the background
9:15 The Rhinoceros The Collector is standing in front of looks like it's a Wooly Rhinoceros which is an extinct species of rhino
Also one cool detail that I have found is: The Dairy Queen Restaurant where Peter Quill is scrubbing the floor in the end of the episode, looks pretty similar to the one Ego parked his car at, at the beginning of Guardians of the Galaxy 2

Two things 1. When are we going to hear Cosmo talk (he’s psychic in the comics). 2. Why has nobody (not even Voss) pointed out that Tivan called Hela’s headdress a “necrosword” implying that it is a Klyntar Symbiote.

Pointing out that hela is like a dark goddess she might be the cause of a symbiote like species that is not the klyntar or the “symbiote” or may be a fluid like object that is like a symbiote so hela is technically the cause of some kind of mcu venom or symbiote thing
The animators really went above and beyond in what if like it’s gorgeous and still maintains small details we are used to in the mcu

We are ignoring that, T'Challa being Star Lord means that Quill would have most likely had his personality being overtaken by Ego (seeing as he didn't know Yondu and no one would have given him the pep talk he needed to stop Ego) and the Universe would have been destroyed. Quill not being Star Lord would have caused far more damage to the Universe than T'Challa would have saved.
I think Quill would at least still tried to kill Ego, cuz you know, Ego killed Quill's mother. But because Quill would be alone, Ego would force Quill to be his battery and no one would be there to stop this.
@@nik1andr22 i mean, Quill only found out about ego killing his mother cus he was resisting to some degree, being a commoner, not knowing any special person, then founding out he is immortal, would make him wannt to help his father blindly, and i dont think he would have found out about his father killing his mother till he is already an understander of immortality feelings
I hope that there's a noticeable impact from being raised by his grandfather instead. What if he wasn't as driven by superficial desires and emotion like the MCU version? Maybe he had to get that DQ job at a young age to support the family and eventually learned responsibility and became manager. Maybe he's way smarter because his grandfather pushed him to keep his grades up. A lot of potential here and being raised with a much more caring father figure and stable home life would've probably been a huge impact... That being said, I think they'll just take the easier route and have him be the same person just without the experience in stealing and fighting.
It kinda puzzled me why T'Challa is called StarLord too. Been trying to watch these in bits and pieces, but isn't the reason Quill is called StarLord is because of his mother's note and gift?
Man the end credits made me tear up😭😢😭😭....this episode was just a perfect way to honor Chadwick Boseman.......and he absolutely killed it and I am super hyped to see him in future episodes!! Our king you will always be in our hearts....WAKANDA FOREVER!

That being said, Uatu has pledged never to interfere in the affairs of mortals so that he doesn't mess with fate, but he has saved Earth numerous times and has broken his pledge many times. However, I think the MCU may just keep him as a guide, considering they have a lot to cover in the next couple of episodes and it would be meaningless to have Uatu join the fray.

A little continuity error, After the Collector loses his gauntlet he's thrown in the glass box but then magically has his gauntlet back on and off again during that scene.
There is one more detail that you missed in the final scene where ego picks up Peter he is working at a Dairy Queen and this could be the same Dairy Queen as the one where the ego from guardians of the galaxy volume 2 shows his wife the extension of himself
