  • QB description was Brady dead on, but also Vinny Testaverde. He had great success with Vinny in 1994 with Cleveland. Great stuff, DJ

  • Back in 91 Bill was already coming up with ideas or molds for players that's a lot of teams still can't get together. #1 TE must be able to catch ball with #2-3 more blockers. Hernandez and Gronk comes to mind...love your content. Keep up the great work!!!

  • Just watched both videos. He's made slight alterations to his philosophy but you can tell even back then he was building teams ahead of their time. Teams are now drafting taller DB's yet he understood smaller DB's were a liability back in '91. Crazy!

  • This is so good! I feel like this offensive philosophy: run the ball, pick up the blitz, have qb distribute the ball, start working the inside, move towards the outside of the field. Control the clock and don't make mistakes is deceptively simple. The devil is in the details, of course and BB is a master of them. It seems to me that offensive trends come and go but running the football and controlling the line of scrimmage is always a winning strategy. Sometimes it seems to me that some coaches get a little too cute.

  • As a lifelong Patriots fan, it's worth noting that Belichick sucks at drafting receivers. It hasn't been a problem because Brady makes average receivers look good. Edelman is the exception and he was a QB in college. Beside Edelman, the best receiver Belichick drafted was Aaron Dobson. Jury is still out on N'Keal Harry but he definitely could be a bust.

  • Tbh not trolling, but it's not surprising that Coach was on with his philosophy! It is impressive but not shocking! He is the GOAT IMO! Offensive philosophies dictate what the game is and what defensive philosophies will become! Once defenses adapt and shut down certain schemes then they change it up! This will always be the case, sometimes it can take years for certain schemes to be shut down regularly because personel changes may be necessary and the need for drafting or grooming certain skills in players at key positions is the only way to counter these! Every once in a while though something will stick and sort of revolutionize the game. The latest scheme/style is the RPO game! I feel that the RPO stuff is not something that is gonna be shut down and go away anytime soon if ever! IMO this is almost cheating in the way it puts defenses at such a disadvantage when playing within the rules on the defensive side. Offenses are bending if not breaking the rules so often on these plays! It is going to take much more than just drafting a certain type of player to combat this or to come up with formations or plays designed to stop it ! My point is Coach merely stated his philosophy which just happens to be the philosophy of the best to ever do it, so yes it is impressive but doesnt shake the ground for me!

  • I keep thinking Belichick was talking about D.K. Metcalf in the early 90s. Which obviously he was.
