  • Creep is nice when you're parking in a tight parking spot. It lets you creep very slowly while your foot modulates the brake, ready to stop very quickly to keep from hitting something. Using one pedal driving can be a little trickier. If you press too hard on the accelerator pedal, it takes time to move your foot over to the brake to stop quickly. Or, you have to do left foot braking, which can be awkward for many people.

  • Before buying a Polestar 2, rent one from Hertz. I was seriously considering the Polestar 2 until I spent a few days driving one. Great looks, great power, and great handling, but there wasn't much else going for the vehicle. I found the seats to be uncomfortable, the ride harsh, the interior noisy (road noise), and visibility was poor. The weekend rental fee was money well-spent.

  • We love our Polestar 2, had it for almost a year and it's been great. I really like the Andriod Automotive OS, was one of the big selling points for me, I've always had andriod phones so it's all logical to me. More apps are available all the time, some good some not. You could show that in a video, how to downlaod new apps, they have a radar weather one now that I like and will be good for summer thunderstorm season!

  • Any news on ISO 15118 Plug&Charge for this car? Is your AC charging end time accurate? My XC40 Recharge always estimated an end time based on 48 A draw. Any thoughts on getting a frunk carpet without that silly (and space consuming) divider like the ones in Europe?

  • Can't believe after all these years Polestar still hasn't implemented 360 camera and backup camera on the same screen AT THE SAME TIME. If the cupholder situation wasn't a deal breaker enough, that camera implementation would be. They've had so long to fix this and there's no logic or excuse for not doing it....the entire top half of the screen is just black with sensor indicators, literally nobody would say that's a better use of screen space

  • Hertz gave us a polestar on our trip to France and we spent hours every day either looking for compatible chargers (car software is pretty useless) or charging … I would NEVER EVER accept another polestar again! Horrible experience.

    @szakhem@szakhem9 ай бұрын
    • I rented one for a week in Miami and had the same experience… now I’m shopping to buy one 😂 As a rental it could feel risky if you’re in an unfamiliar place with nowhere to plug in at home or hotel, though!

      @jamieclark5659@jamieclark56594 ай бұрын
    • Sounds like it was your lack of experience. CCS chargers are all over France and the software tells you exactly where to find them. More like your issue than Polestar's.

      @sandersson2813@sandersson28134 ай бұрын
    • @@sandersson2813 Your assumptions are wrong (hint: when you know nothing about another person or where in France we were, don’t make assumptions about their “experience”). Polestar’s software was inaccurate and lacked Tesla’s sophistication; it didn’t help us locate available fast chargers. And even when we found CCS charging stations using our phones, we were either: 1) unable to charge at available spots possibly because they were already set aside/reserved for Tesla vehicles; 2) stations were out of service (we even called the company on one occasion and they couldn’t even locate the unit); or 3) insufficient number of fast chargers throughout Normandy and the Loire valley made it painfully slow (45 min!).

      @szakhem@szakhem4 ай бұрын
    • It's not Polestar's software, it's Google's software and it tells you what plugs are available. I've just looked at your region concerned and there are loads of chargers. I'm not saying that electric car ownership is perfect, but a little bit of planning goes a long way.

  • Do not buy one of these cars if you need to do highway driving every day. The range it says on the dash is pure fantasy. Highway driving consumes much more energy than city driving. I drive 200 miles everyday and the Polestar will need to be charged during this period otherwise you are not getting home. Cramped interior, stupid location for the drink holders and a horrible climate control / radio design makes it a miserable experience. There is nothing luxury about this car IMO. It costs $34 or more to charge at the public station so you can drive 200 miles. If you only charge it at home on a regular 110v plug-in / it will take 43 hours to charge. Therefore you will need a upgraded outlet to get an overnight charge accomplished

    • 1. I’ve had a rental and had 230 miles out of it. Why would you buy the standard range when you do regular 200 mile journeys? Sounds like buyer error. 2. Who buys an EV and charges from 110v? A proper home charger is a requisite for any EV ownership. Sounds like owner error. Don’t cut corners then and you’d get the proper benefit
