Here is a nice little 2-mover with white to move. Can you solve it?

Easiest puzzle yet … … even though MY "solution" was incorrect! 🤪
Not too difficult, I think, cheers. Nice symmetry. (Now, I'll watch, to make sure!)
Qc8 and the bishop on g8 is pinned leaving only the a-pawn and the dark square bishop available for black's legal move. If bxc3+ then Qxc3#, if b to f6 or e5 or d4 then bishop takes bishop checkmate, if h5 then Rxh5# since both bishops are pinned and if h6 then Rxh6,# since the dark square bishop is pinned
I thought for sure the 1st move would be to sacrifice the Queen.
Same.
I got this one right away. One of your easier ones. Usually I consider I'm doing well if I get the first move right.
Q c8, Either h6 or h5. Rook takes pawn, checkmate. However, I wouldn't have had a clue if I hadn't previously watched other chess puzzles on your channel and noticed your apparent love of zugzwang and positions where there are multiple possible mating attacks.
Yet another GREAT learning experience !!!
My solution, far simpler is to say “look pigeon” and when the opponent follows my diversion, quickly move my Queen to D7. White to move when opponent looks back on, Mate in 1. Am I right ? 👍
Awesome puzzle! Many thanks as usual, keep doing!
Pleasing symmetry there but not too difficult: 1 out of 5, I'd say.
Great instruction on pinning pieces
It was easier, but as you say, it is cute. Thanks for giving people like me a break for a change.
This one is for sure mucv more easy than your usual problems ... I found in a few seconds which is very ... unusual
I greatly enjoyed the triple pin
brilliant puzzle... thank you very much. God bless you
Yea, got it.
Nice puzzle, took me a bit to find the move. My only question is: What is the purpose of the white pawn in the puzzle? Wouldn't the solution be the same without it?
Good question! My own analysis is that if the pawn was removed there is an alternative solution in the move Qg3.
If the pawn wasn't there, Qg3 would be also a second solution. And the rule of the puzzles, that there should be only one winning move.
Yes Qc8
Finally one I solved...
1.Qc8 zugzwang!
Soldiers: stupid King, if it wasn't for him we wouldn't get pinned all the damn time. So tired of being unable to move just to keep his dumb ass out of check 😤
Solved!😊
Not too difficult, but nice one!
Easy is often good! Means scrubs like me can solve it, and I finally did!
Pin both bishops keeping an eye on our c3 bishop
Why not Queen to H6? Bishop can't take it because puts King in check. Queen takes Bishop and Checkmate. Bishop can take Black Bishop on C3 but that leaves Queen to Checkmate too. Am I missing something?
Yes, you are missing that when black takes bishop at c3 it is check to white's king! So white has to take back first and white only get a checkmate in 3 moves instead of 2.
Got It!
Easy but nice
An easy one for a change.
Unfortunately, I got it wrong, even after spending 10mins figuring it out. So, it's not easy.
queen d3 works as well
No, it doesn't actually. Black can play h6 or h5 and when white takes the pawn with the rook black still has Bh7 to block the check. It will be checkmate in 3 moves, not 2.
Too easy. I have found the solution in 5 seconds.
Isn't this more elegant without the g5 pawn? Doesn't seem to be doing anything
Without it I believe there's a cook by White moving the queen to the g file with Qg3, threatening Qxg7# while still allowing Qxc3# if Black captures the White bishop, or BxB# if the bishop moves anywhere else on the diagonal.
Easy
Pawn g6 If move bishop White-->queen x h7 ++ If bishop x c3 --> queen x c3 ++ If pawn h6 --> queen x h6 ++ If pawn h5 --> queen x h5 ++
Nope. Check it again carefully. It's only mate in 3, not in 2.
