The show paid for them to meet (transportation, bonding activities to experience together, their meals etc)-things that the families would have had to consider doing it by their own means. The girls may or may not have been given a choice but at the end of the day, we don't know and there's no reason to suggest either of those circumstances over the other. So how about focusing on the positives instead of flooding this video with unneeded negativity.

    • Yep, sharing this loving and touching moment should be kept behind closed doors. Never should loved ones kiss in public. Never should a baby cry when they are in public. PFFT! We are the human race. Choosing to share the reunion with the world is proof positive that those who have been adopted or are still transitioning through a foster system can meet a loved one. Whether he or she is a sister, mother, brother, aunt, dad etc. they can see this joyous moment and know reunions are just empty dreams. But no. We should keep every reunion private. Trust me, those who have been through the system and finally do meet a loved one it a moment that you want to climb on top of a mountain and scream I found my ___________!!!!! Will the kids then tweet, instaslam, facebook and call all their friends to let them know this? Of course they will. protect them? Really? This is child abuse? Just remember this the next time you see the explosions in Syria or all the other bad news the midea latches on to. I say good job to GMA for sharing this moment. To the parents it is their choice to allow everyone to see their children unite. We ARE a community. The fact the this disturbs you disturbs me but also lets me know another side to this story. Thank you so much for showing a dissenting view. Without a dialogue we can't grow.

  • I cried right along with them when that door opened! But I cried both happy and sad tears. Happy, joyful, elated that they are together and that both of them have such loving, intelligent parents who want this reunion to be the start of a new life for the girls. But I also cried sad tears that they had been separated between the ages of 1 and 2 and adopted to different families, with neither of those families being told that there was a twin as well. It should NEVER happen that twins, or even non-twin siblings should be split up for adoption. Whatever caused them to end up in foster care as babies is enough of a trauma to go through, but then to be sent to the other side of the world with a new family and grow up STILL not knowing their history, is just so unfair and I don't see how it cannot leave lasting trauma with these children. Just from how their parents talk and how they interact with their child and the other twin, I can't help thinking that one or both of those couples would have been more than happy to take both the girls at adoption time. I know that adoption agencies can't give adoptive parents the names and addresses of the biological parent(s), or ways to contact the bio parents, but in complex cases involving multiple siblings and especially twins, it doesn't seem fair that they keep that information secret. It's almost like the second twin is kept in another room while one is being adopted. Like they are hidden away like a bad secret. It just isn't right that these girls are only finding out after 10 years that they have a twin. And like the psychologist said, the twin bond is so strong, it's very likely these girls felt over the years that "something was missing" from their lives. I hope adoption agencies don't do this any more; I hope they look first for homes where two children would be welcomed.

    • The girls and their families had already been face timing over the internet. They just hadn't physically met. Keep in mind, there is a psychologist on set that has NO PROBLEM with them meeting like this. You probably shouldn't either. What you don't understand is that these are tears of JOY for the girls. Tears of joy are friggin fantastic. I'm sure you're not familiar with that emotion and I hope one day you can be. Then you'll understand that ANY time and ANY place is a good place to be reunited with your family. What's more fascinating however is that there is ALWAYS SOMEONE trying to create a problem where there is none. Always some fools looking to follow suit too. Nice try at ruining a beautiful moment a** holes. Now, back to your miserable lives with you!

      @JackalBlack@JackalBlack3 жыл бұрын
    • @@JackalBlack You are a poor soul. One must not be a genius to understand that anything that is emotionally profound is not to be displayed on live TV, in front of an audience and especially if this concerns children. Having one psychologist on the set doesn't mean at all that this is right. Having that so called psychologist on the set only serves the purpose of this TV channel to have, actually, a backup in case of lawsuit, yeah. If they were tears of joy, which I hope, then they should have lived those in their intimacy, not forced to look in front of them and follow the TV set's rules. You are an idiot.

      @vahe1813@vahe18133 жыл бұрын
    • @@vahe1813 Where is that rule: That the emotionally profound should "ne're (never) be aired!" Nowhere. The emotionally profound is what makes TV and movies worth watching. It's what makes life worth living. Sounds like your making things up as you go. I know you would rather have all children stay in closed cells and communicate in controlled conditions but this isn't North Korea. This is Good Morning AMERICA! There is no school that teaches you that "no child should experience joy in public" (as YOU are trying to say). These are perhaps the rules imposed by your family or tradition? Those are rules for creating prisoners. Life happens in a world of 8 billion people. If you can only handle emotions in a box - then maybe you should go live in one. Maybe you do and that's why your so angry and selfish. Besides, those girls have a lifetime of private memories to create. Why shouldn't they commemorate their first meeting on TV? I would have been glad too and it sure looks like they all were too. Now they can re-live it forever. Now again, go back to your miserable life where you can daydream of imposing your foolish will on children everywhere. Not only did you not ruin these kids' day...you're definitely not gonna ruin mine. I'll be here happily waiting to continue making you look like you don't know what your talking about. Well, I'll be HELPING. You're already doing a pretty good job yourself! 😁👍😁

      @JackalBlack@JackalBlack3 жыл бұрын
    • @@JackalBlack Ok. Yeah ... You're a perfect example of the brainwashed American : claims everything should be aired on TV, is rude and angry but frames the other one as such, can't handle moderate argumentation and thus relies on exagerrated and stereotypical claims, brings up nationalism anywhere. You're the definition of the " 'MURICA" internet joke. I know I won't change your mind and I don't care but I wanted to point that out if anyone else is to read these comments. I, actually, don't make things up as I go because I worked in TV industry and studied about media and media's impact on the society at the university. I pretty much know what I'm talking about. If someone wants to learn a bit more on what today's medias mean, I suggest you read books such as On Television by Pierre Bourdieu or The Society Of The Spectacle by Guy Debord. I don't think, to be honest, they experienced only joy. I believe it must have been tainted by sorrow and disarray. And even if not, would you air your wedding on camera or when you give birth ? They are moments that scream for intimacy. Unfortunately you only saw that event with the lens the TV show wanted you to have, which is a pity for you but shows how well they succeeded in their process. Now I won't respond anymore. Have a good day.
