@@shawnpitman876 I like going out to buy things when I can. Sometimes it is nice to see the item before you buy it. Some people buy cars online but to me that is one of those kind of things it is nice to do. You can take a quick look and see what else is there that you like more before you buy. Now about graphics cards you could more easily ask an employee things like will they take the card back if something is wrong with it. In this case it would be a graphics card with the GPU missing. You need a store that is willing to give you a guarantee in writing that as long as it is the same serial number as the one that is on the box (and one they have in their records) they would take the item back. Also when buying in person from a brick and mortar store watch the return policy. It might be a really short one like 14 days. To me that really is not enough time for a quality problem with an item to show up unless the item is so bad you wonder how it ever got out of the factory!

So you decide to sell your old one which is still worth a decent amount. But guess what again? You're just Shawn down the street trying to sell it online & nobody will touch you because you're not a business! You can sell it to a business that deals in used electronics, but they wont give you anything close to what you would have got selling it direct, because they'll want to make a decent profit on it. You can't shop online? Why's that? Because you can't buy from just random people who are 3rd party sellers and not actual businesses? No fool, you can shop online just fine, you just have to shop at ACTUAL BUSINESSES, not greg down the street posting something on Amazon.
Shopping online is fine as long as you're not buying from 3rd parties, for example on Newegg as long as the product is sold and shipped by Newegg you're going to be fine.

@@Driver_1227 yea...I'd rather spend $50-100 more for new than used any day. A used item might last just as long as new or die in a few months
The biggest scam is the prices for hardware these days lmao.
The problem with these empty boards is that China has a whole market dedicated to rebuild RTX 4000 GPUs for AI rendering... And since Nvidia blocked them to buy their new AI render cards, they had to come up with something different. They need small GPUs for the Servers but Gaming GPUs are pretty bulky, so they rip everything off and put it on smaller PCBs and cooling solutions making the Chinese market flooded with Coolers and empty PCBs.
So they resell the pcs that are t used instead of throwing it away or listing as “for parts”??? Bad

You can't test to see if it will run prior to purchase. Visually you can't tell unless you remove the heatsink from the card.
This is happening even from retail stores, saw a post in a local FB group where someone got a 4000 series from Best Buy and when he opened the box at the store... no PCB on the card. They just removed the whole PCB and left the heatsink / shroud in the box.
Best Buy sell customer returned products too, they probably didn't check the box properly before they put it in the shelf. These chip-less GPU's are coming straight from China
This is an old guy wanting to thank you for all the help and info. God bless you and don’t stop.
Alright there’s not enough punishment for this crap. These people need to be on a do not sell list or something.
That’s an issue in China. Who ever buys used electronics asks for something like this.
Mom!! Where did you buy this graphics card you got me for Christmas?!?!?
Clarification : GPU is the square processing unit inside, the graphics card is the whole PCB assembly with voltage regulators, capacitors and inductors surrounding the GPU.
Sucks for legitimate sellers too. If I'm just upgrading to a new card and financing with funds from the old card it's just that much more of a headache to do.
what do they even do with the dye💀
I always buy on Amazon from the manufacturer, not third-party. This has never happened to me. Online or physical store, you can get scammed either way if you’re not a careful consumer. If the place looks shady, has very few reviews and/or doesn’t accept returns, DO NOT BUY
Always buy it from official store is a safe way for most people
There is such a high level of buyer protection on these platforms that I don't even see a point in trying to scam people like this.
Real glad that all the parts we ordered for my first build weren’t duds.
It's definitely wrong to assume that Amazon is a "trusted" place to buy stuff.
it's called purchase protection. simple and you should know what protections you have when purchasing anywhere.

On Amazon I can't say much, but on ebay being a seller is a minefield
"Do you know what? Fuck you!" *Un-GPUs your GPU*
better idea, stop using online retail for computer parts until they sort this shit out. It's getting so common that I am shocked the FTC or other authorities around the world haven't gotten involved.
Always buy from a trusted dealer and ideally a new graphics card😉
That's why I only get stuff from best buy. Ya sure it's mildly more expensive but after shipping from amazon or new egg it's basically the same price.
Always buy from reputable sellers to avoid scams when purchasing PC components. Trusting third party vendors can lead to major headaches and wasted money.
Vid 2 of asking if u Can build a whole pc setup for a total of 1000 dollars mainly focusing on the performance of the pc not much on how the whole setup looks pls
Honestly, that isn't too hard. The looks come mostly from the case and the LEDs. Just take a case that suits you and fits your components and don't pay the 10€/piece to have LED on components. And consider building it yourself. Safes a ton of money, and theres guides all over the place for that.

technically speaking, the Graphical Processing Unit is the die soldered on the mainboard of the graphics card, which is the component slotted into the PCIe slot.
Let's be clear about this: Amazon is NOT a trusted retailer.

This is karma for the trade bans. From what I understand the ICs are being smuggled and it is a lot easier to do so than sneak a whole card anywhere.
it's like saying, "please don't get shot when people shooting at you" .
I just go to the big pc shop in my area and always get stuff tested before actually paying something small from ram to gpu even mouse once.

This KZheadr is telling the truth.. I was looking at a CPU for a random poster and after reading comments on Amazon, alot said that the CPU was missing..
I would not expect those to benchmark very well
It may seem impossible, but if you know how to solder... You could see some missing pins, and checking every board if it's missing that one component.. They'll usually just leave out solder mask or a bit of solder left.
At this point you gotta show up to Nvidia's headquarters to pick the shit up in person.
It's not impossible to notice since if you are buying your own parts, you probably know to inspect your goods like a drug dealer
sounds like an unwise consumer issue
Really makes you question even going through the effort of building a Gaming PC these days. Either you pay above retail to get scammed or pay a premium on top of that to make sure it’s from a trusted source
FOR WHAT!! Wtf do they do without a main board?
That's why I go to physical stores Tell them to boot a PC with that GPU They usually have a testing PC after you pay they run it once and show things in CPU z Then they pack or built and go home
Micro center or a local PC shop are ALWAYS the most trusted, so if you're paranoid, go to local micro center or pc shop
