  • For those wondering the intro is entirely wrong: Yes Tony steals the hat and the club closes, but it closes due to renovations not because the mobster burned it. See Tony stole the hat, but he made it look like the hat was stolen by someone else, therefore he made the mobster believe that he was the one that got it back even though he was the one that stole it. Tony saw it as an opportunity because he earned the mobster's respect and got a good tip.

    • I personally haven't had the pleasure of watching this movie, in fact I never even heard of it . However simply based on the bosses first appearance and his style of clothing im guessing the stolen "hat" you are referencing isn't really just a hat (I know right who cares? what's the big deal ? , im not an expert and plz correct me if im wrong (im disinclined by the idea of spreading falsities') most ensemble's of clothing that are directly associated with, inspired, or even slightly influenced by the elegance of African aestheticism are often enkindled with religion or spiritualism . point being i think its a kufi which makes the "hat " a HUGE deal

  • Love films like Green Book. Shows that you don't need big explosions and special effects and gunfights and a $300 million budget for a good film. Good actors, a compelling story, and a deft director make it work.

  • This is the kind of movie we need so much more of. Deep, humanizing, intellectual and introspective. No flash, flare, CGI, green screen, zombies, superpower people, and/or played out multiverse nonsense. Our world would be so much better if beautiful movies like this were promoted over dark, superficial, virtue signaling BS.

    • @@slimakovamamam Ever consider it may have something to do with the media we consume? The vitriolic nonsense spewed on social media? The sociological niche bubbles people put themselves in to avoid hearing something they don't like? It's gotta change, and fantasy movies used to be a fraction of what is being pumped out now by disney/marvel/sony. That stuff is fine in small doses, but puts people in a state of confusion as to how to handle themselves in the world. Just like you jumping at me for a praise of good sense movies, and mentioning we need more good sense movies, and less things that make people feel powerful, because people suck.

My children, aged 5 and 3 cannot tell a difference between black and white and I am proud of me and my wife raising them like so. Also I am proud of my parents who always told me to respect people no matter of which skin color. Even if they never met black people in Yugoslavia where they are originally from. Even after a war in our home country, they told me not to hate the enemy. When I said a racial slur against Serbians once as a young fellow, my father punched me in my face and forbid it.
