PAJERO with 35s | Solo 4x4 Trip | FLINDERS RANGES | Bendleby Ranges | Billy Goat Ridge
Jason and his son Jayden go solo camping and offroading to the iconic Bendleby Ranges (Flinders Ranges), South Australia. Recently completing a SUBFRAME drop kit install and 35 inch tyres on the Pajero.
This video demonstrates the reason why we go through lengths to upgrade our 4WDs. Its all about Traction and clearance in often unforgiving terrain like the Flinders Ranges.
Stay tuned as more trips and more Pajero mods are on the list this year!

Brilliant memories and experiences for you gents!! You’ve both put together an amazing production- shots, angles, scenery, music - that’s the business! Nice to see the Paj make easy work of that track - with all the flex of a besser block 😂. Great driving, thanks for sharing!!
Thanks so much! haha almost better flex than a shopping trolley! 😂
Its the pajero making it look easy, definently underrated vehicles.
Agree mate
Great trip mate, well done bud. Great memories you’re building there with your young bloke too, that’s the stuff he’ll remember over what presents he got for Christmas or who bought him the latest PlayStation game etc, this is what memories are all about so well done for helping create them. Cheers mate and thanks for sharing 👍
cheers legend. yeah mate. great bonding moments we'll both cherish for sure! 👍👍
Great video mate! Awesome to see you & your son making memories.

Cheers mate.. she’s getting there.
35s look so good mate. Top video.
Cheers mate! Big donuts! Donuts hey 🍩🍩
Made that look easy bro, keep up the great content 👌👌👌
Thanks bro! Was pretty chuffed to be able to do it solo too! But group trips better! Next time
It's a awesome track billy goat, I had to do it for the first time backwards for a recovery mission. It's a great experience all round!
Bloody hell! There’s not many people that can say that mate.. hope it wasn’t too serious!!
@@TabVentures mate twisted and broke his tail shaft on that first step up, I was behind and was getting late into the day so i had to do a sketchy 4pt turn, we all loaded into mine and headed back to the office via the border and main road in. His car had to stay on the track overnight so Charlie shut the track down for Sunday till the recovery was done
Great trip mate! I'm currently getting my 02 NM Pajero ready for a trip around parts of Australia
nice mate!! where you starting from, clockwise or anti clockwise.. let me know when coming past SA!
@@TabVentures Based out of Newcastle currently and heading down south and then across toward Adelaide! Most likely second half of this year
Great job jason good job 👍
Jayden is to good at vlogging keep up the great content👍-Hoai
Thanks bro 🙏 Yeah he’s trying 😂..
Nice 👍
We are going there in a few weeks. Looking forward to seeing this part of Australia. Did you notice less engine braking when you changed the tyres to 35's?
Hey mate, do didn’t really notice to be honest.. Awesome mate, hope you get good weather! Flinders is the best during winter! 🏕🔥
Excuse me ,may I ask you some questions about the fuel, L/KM,thanks🙏
Very good
Thanks
What steel wheels did you go with? Using the Pajformance lift kit for the 4 inch?
Similar. These ones are a kit from Mr Pajero. I dont know if he supplies them anymore.
Rims - Dynamic Sunraysia Steelies. 17x8 - +30 offset
insane video man. Love the paj - what's your fuel economy sitting at with the 35s + lift? Be interested to hear where you got your 4" from too.
I now see you've answered this lol
@@alessandroclarke7300 still getting used to the fuel economy as it does vary. not significant but it is higher than what i used to get before the upgrade..
Great vid! Love the car. What lift kit is it? Cheers
2" standard Suspension lift kit (old man emu).. + Subframe drop, kit form Mr Pajero
@@TabVentures thanks mate! How does it drive on road with the 4 inch and 35's? Thinking of doing the same but worried it could be too boaty
Like someone said belou, Pajero/Montero make every route look easy. I have one, 3rd gen, and I'm still surprised what can do without modifications.
Pajero/Montero punch above their weight for sure
What's the fuel economy with lifts and 35s
Hey mate great vid, what exhaust are you running and where did you get it I’ve been looking for a while and none sound this good?
Sorry mate just saw this. 3inch straight pipe. Ass pain to Install
@@TabVentures cheers mate thanks for the reply
Ganda boss
What diff drop kit did you go with ? Love the content !
Thanks mate subframe drop kit..
Do you have a video on current mods to your Pajero or if not , any chance of doing one ?? I'm running 2inch lift now and looking at doing subframe drop so just wondering what and whose kit you used
yeah on the cards.. i have a few mods on the list to do.. but do plan to go through them at some point.
To be honest i came here to see how you did fit 35s on Pajero, how it handles and so on. Would you like to elaborate more, maybe in dedicated video? Theres not much on that topic online that i could find. It looks like Pajero didn't need that much mods to take 35?
hey mate. yeah i touched on it in middle of the video.. but do plan to do a review at some point!
MPG? How is the transmission handling those wheel/tires? or did you do the regear?
ff
Wonder how long the wheel bearings will last
There actually called a mob of sheep. 🙂🇦🇺
Great video. Where can we get a lift like this for the US market? Would you make a video on this soon?
Hey man, video walk around on the setup on the cards.. kits are made here in Australia.. can be shipped internationally.. what state are you in?
@Tab Ventures I'm in California brotha.
@@jrcastaneac ping me on FB bro.
You can put massive tyres on these things despite what the haters say. Chucked on patrol rims with some rare 34 inch tyres about 10 years ago and have had zero suspension problems. Had to def cut away a bit of the plastic. However car now doesn't like going faster than 80. You can literally see the fuel needle moving in real time over 100kph but they're tough as anything
Nah not at all mate. Won’t get anywhere listening to other people! Nice work!
The question is not why, but how did you manage to install 35e tires? It is desirable to be more detailed. Lift body kit you buy or made?
Made here in Australia.. custom lift kit.. giving 4” lift in total allowing for the clearance to fit 35s.
Do you cut any wheel arch to fit those 35 in the front?
yeah mate.. i refer to it in the walk around.. about halfway through
Hi! Sick rig. I heard people get some transmission overheating because it doesn't lock up or something due to the larger tires ? Do you have any input on that ?
yeah agree. Transimission heat rose a bit.. simllar to when towing a large trailer in Auto. Torque locker makes a difference.
What is the torque locker ? Thanks for the reply @@TabVentures
What’s the size of your tires im planning to upgrade my 33s 285/70r17 to 35s
Lockers or 4.9s on this? Nice vid
Hey bro.. neither at the moment
legendary 4x4 now gone
Shame they stopped producing them...
after the lift there is no problem with rear Stub Shaft geting off?
None so far
Mate is ARB air diff lock compatible for Pajero gen4?
Don’t have one mate, not sure sorry..
What did you do for the 4inch lift and to have 35" tyres
2inch suspension. 2 inch subframe drop kit installed
Awesome thanks
Is there any way of getting the sub frame drop kit I'm in the UK
Hello Friend! tell me what are the characteristics of those disks? Are they hitting the brake caliper? Hello from Russia!
Hi.. no the rims do. It touch the brakes. Special offset
Onestamente, con 4' di rialzo, hai mai problemi ai semiassi? Grazie dall italia
No issues with drive shadt
Where's ya winch?
is this pajero a petrol 3.5 v6 or diesel
4cyl Turbro Diesel
14L/100 is pretty good for muddies let alone 35" muddies, Id personally opt for AT's so that figure should drop to around 12L with 35" AT's
yeah im i've got Torque auto lockers to go into it. Im interested to see how that affects the efficiency with these bigger tyres.
Diseil? Whar about gear? 4.1?
Diesel 3.2 👍
Can’t believe that car is still going. Well looked after I say.
its only just begun bro.. no getting water in this one!
@@TabVentures the water lubricates the car. It’s a new function in the Tritons.

Them wheels are bigger than mine Check my walk around video
Thanks bro.. yeah I will 🤙
It is a flock of sheep...
Haha. i agree!
You can definitely tell she struggles a bit with those 35s. Torque must almost be halved with those! Extra clearance seems nice though. Probably would've been alright with 33s and a two inch lift?
I didn't see any terrain that you could not have driven with 33's. Instead, going to 35's has made the little Paj work so much harder to turn those big wheels. You have compromised your gearing and so when climbing you are on the torque convertor all of the time, generating unnecessary heat into the transmission. On the down hill, you are on the brakes all of the time to stop it running away, again the gearing is now too high, even in low-range. The upward suspension travel is limited before the tyres touch the guards, and that is before you put any weight in the little truck. All for what? Increased fuel consumption, driveline stress and heavier unsprung weight, and nothing that a better set up Paj couldn't do with 33's and 7 inch rims for clearance. IMHO, you have ruined the car.
Oi shut up
Oi who gives a fuck
Mob of sheep .
haha i'lll take that!
