Bit of fun with the Mitsubishi Pajero showing how it's done up at Cape York, October 2020

    • I disagree it’s not underrated, people Who actually know about cars particularly 4x4’s know that the 2.8 Pajero is probably the best car Mitsubishi ever made. It’s probably the best 4x4 ever made. The 2.8 engine is known as the best engine Mitsubishi ever made no doubt. There unstoppable

  • what a terrific vid of the venerable Pajero. I always ask knockers "have you had one then?" you can guess the response in most cases. hugely underrated and stupidly unsupported in the used market, they probably represent the greatest value 4wd money can buy for a family wagon. interestingly, another 4wd tube show recently did a test on mid size trucks and the triton came out on top. you did a quality drive in this vid. another issue you'll find in modern offroaders is that they have no idea how to drive correctly. if it starts to get stuck, put the boot in and hang on. the pajero is a no nonsense, simply, reliable and durable offroader...keep up the good trips.

  • Great vid! Shows how easy it makes everything look. I just bought a 2015 NX Paj and I love it so far. Had a Triton before that and its a big upgrade. Going to be towing a 12ft offroad caravan with it around Aus soon. Can't wait!

  • I really enjoy ASPW video's and work in general and he can sometimes whine a bit, I think what happened with the Pajero incident was not really the cars fault. He didnt understand the 4wd system and was trying to learn as he was being watched and I think his ego took a serious knock as a expert. Yes the plastic bits fell off and the beeping would make me mad as well but I think in general it didn't look good getting stuck everywhere. I also think that Mitsubishi needs to get its act together and get the Pajero back on the market and keep this classic alive.

  • Is the rear differential locked or it is purely relying on traction control, the pajero that comes to middle east has an NVH problem, the dash board badly shakes and creaks over rougher services, is it true of these pajeros also. When it comes high speed on road stability, pajero definitely feels more stable than prado.

  • Mate take a stock gen 3 or 4 there and we'll talk again. Compared to the Prado it is inferior for offroading. My gen 2 Paj in stock trim can outwheel a modified gen 3 or 4. How much did you have to spend to get your Paj as capable as it is now? Spend the same amount on a gen 2 and you'll outwheel comp trucks! I'll keep my gen 2 thanks the tupperware Pajero's I'll leave for people who have money to waste.

    @andrebots4224@andrebots422410 ай бұрын
    • I think it would be really interesting to put the different generations side by side and find out. Of the various vehicles we've had along on our trips (Hilux, Patrol, Everest, Prado etc) the new Pajero Sport is definitely the most disappointing (albeit it was set up for towing) and the Jeep Rubicon by far the most capable (on big tyres - actually huuuuuge tyres... :)). Scott's Pajero has plenty of touring mods as you can see in the video but I'd argue he is running typical mods for any 4WD in Australia: bull bar, 2 inch lift and tyres. The rear diff locker compensates for the lack of flex and the skid plate prevents, ok "reduces" the sand drag from the rear bumper :) This generation of Pajero is not a comp truck and never will be - my point of the video is that it's not a mall crawler as people often argue and while it will never be as capable as my Patrol it will still get you to the same places and in a lot more comfort!

      @Gman839@Gman83910 ай бұрын
    • Each to his own Andre, glad to hear you love your Pajero as much as I do mine. My total spend on mods is just on 10k for a 2" lift, bullbar, diff lock, 2nd battery and tyres - very happy with my investment 🙂

    • @@scottbh074 I'm extremely cheap, bought my Paj for ZAR 10K (about 1k AUD) with a 2" lif, front bar,t 32.5 KO2's 3.5 V6 and a clapped out trans. I got paid to swop out a tranny for a Prado and kept the old one. That now does duty in my Paj. I use it for my Botswana trips. Sometimes I wosh I can tow it to my destination with my Fiesta, it'll be a lot cheaper on petrol. Got gifted a Gen 2.5 GDI 3.5 (clapped out engine) by my niece in Botswana that I'd like to build it for when I play around there.

  • No chassis, where do you fit the bumper, on the hood or along with the engine mounting? DiD sucks, one jet goes for 500 bucks. No real men anymore so they don't do real trucks these days. Our generation would keep with 4D or 4M engines, whereas simple clutch replacement done by me in half an hour will cost me not more than 50 bucks. Thank you very much, sir.
