I don’t want this interview to stop but I wish it would. Mike just keeps on pushing. By mid-interview it would seem he would realize he’s not going to get the answers he’s (expecting and pushing) for. This is not it a slam on Mike. I respect the guy and what he does. Just an observation.

Loved the interview.The new mic’s not so much. Maybe a technical issue but it was a challenge to plug in missed words.
To my ears it seemed like the mics, Mike’s especially, had an extremely fast response noise gate on them that had its threshold set too high. Kind of a bummer, but the content is still phenom. 👍🏻

Out of all the interviews I’ve seen on this channel - Rick Hogg’s experience seems totally opposite most in his shoes. It’s almost like whatever question Mike asks, the answer is opposite of what he expected. Almost like “Stump The Stars”. Am I the only one who sees this? I like the guy. He seems totally honest.

Hey Mike! Love the podcast and the episode. I usually watch them on KZhead in my living room. I notice in this episode the audio was a little wonky. Idk if it is the new microphones y’all were wearing but I had to rewind a few times to hear what you and Rick were saying. Love the content and keep up the good work 🤘🏻

Watched Karate kid last night with the wife and it was the bonfire on the beach scene where they were grilling hot dogs on sticks. It seemed magical an innocent. I said to my wife was it really like that back then. She replied yes it was. Sure seemed like we were at a good happy medium between technology and community. Now I feel technology has pushed in places we have not evolved to live in.
I got out of the army in 91. I sure was glad. Desert shield/storm etc. glad you made it home safely.

You would think that before you go on a podcast about your career in the military and highlights of those deployments including dog handling, you might spend some time pondering those experiences and come up with a couple of highlights to share. I could tell Mike was trying really hard to pull the info out of him.
I was looking for a comment like this lol. Getting details out of Rick was like pulling teeth. Mike: “Can you give us any details about that?” Rick: “Business as usual” 😂
This has been fairly normal for guys of this stature. Considering the unit that Rick was in. These dudes don’t share a lot of detail. I don’t find this surprising at all.

I noticed some issues with Mike's audio when I was listening to the audio-only version earlier today. Not a huge problem, but you might want to look into what caused the spikes and drops in volume levels on this episode Mike.
