Hearing the wonder in William Shatner's words while others are celebrating as if it's a bachelorette really makes you realize that he's the only one who really gets what this experience means for humanity as a whole and confirms that in his heart he really is our Captain Kirk! It's a shame we could barely hear him as the others were screaming and laughing so much.
Well said.
Agreed, he was trying to explain the only way he could at the time the profound grandeur of his experience, in the most human way possible. Truly genuine, it made me tear up listening to him. He gets it, I do to.
He boldly went where no 90 year old beloved Captain has gone before. ✨
And you saw the super cut of his reaction. I’m willing to bet he had his moments of jubilation just like the rest and if they got a spotlight interview with Bezos we could have seen and heard their emotions.
@Clever name Weirdly, lots of millionaires and billionaires (
Gotta say, shatner looking good for 90
Looking good for 65.
I love it. James T. Kirk again up in Space. Amazing
“That's one small step for Captain Kirk, one giant leap for William Shatner”
wait thats it what was the point to just waste fuel they couldn't stay up there for at least and hour or two thats such a waste of money
@@raven4k998 Thats not how spaceflight works. They shot them rather straight up. Everything that goes up is gonna be pulled back by gravity. Your ship would be way more expensive if it was to stay up longer. You would need way more fuel to bring it into Low Earth Orbit (>200km), where a circle takes ~100 mins.
@@sodaaccount not necessarily they just have to burn a little longer so they went a little further up not enough to break away from earth's gravity but more to get longer hang time up there what a little larger fuel tank capacity
@@raven4k998 Shatner should've gone up on Space X's "Inspiration 4".

Right! He looks really good. The one thing I'm sorry about is Lenord Nemoy wasn't around to go with him.
@@natalieburnham3300 Scotty made it first though, even if he couldn't come back.
he's got his weekly educational show at RT America channel. He'd appreciate more viewers. Not too many people are aware he's still active.
He's so absolutely lost for words and so overwhelmed by his experience that he simply can't find the words to describe it. I was gobsmacked to learn that he's 90yrs old, I genuinely thought he was in his early 70s'. Seeing him experiencing this, along with his other crew members, genuinely brought a tear to my eye. He just made it sound so much more of a life defining moment then any other individual who takes part in this. His expression was more of a life changing one then any of the other people; with more of a party kind of reaction.
It's probably because some of them have gone up there before in test flights. I am sure the first time is always very emotionally moving as well as exciting.
That was a beautiful human moment at the end of the video. Brought tears to my eyes.

William Shatner is a nice guy! I took care of him and his wife at an Emmy awards red carpet event in Los Angeles back in 2008 😍😍😍
I would not think he's 90 years old. I would think he's in his 70s. Most people would lose their head to Dementia or Alzheimer's after 80. He's not even walking with a cane! He's doing awfully well physically and mentally for his age! He might be able to live to be 110 if he's doing this well at 90!
Blue Origin should have installed Kirk's Captain's chair in that capsule. That would have been epic. And Shatner's comments after touchdown were heartfelt and very moving. He's a good man.
They could but in that type chair the G force would have damage his spin
don't let his x wifes hear ya saying that oh wait you're a man ...excuse me
lol That depends on who you ask. Don't fall for the sophism of so called 'great men' and let them pull your ear.

I have always thought that when Shatner stepped through the hatch, somebody should have called out, "Admiral on the bridge!" You really have to admire William Shatner. Ninety one years old and he has the spirit of adventure to do this. It is so wonderful the hear him expound on how profoundly moving an experience it was. We need more men like him.
Damn I can’t believe he’s 90 years old! Like wow!!!! Very agile and cognitive for a 90 yr old.
he's got his regular show at RT America channel. Mostly educational videos on different topics, where he interviews scientists and experts.

Im So Happy for Bill. it blew him away as it would most. It's so appropriate that he went to space. Mission Acomplished Captin Kirk !!
Kind of says something about the kind of people they are. It was an almost spiritual moment for Shatner looking at space and then seeing the fragility of life. While the extremely rich were screaming and partying on. As if that was just another toy they have access to for fun. He was just awe struck looking out the window. Mr. Shatner gets it and proves he truly deserved being Captain Kirk.
"Welcome to space!" "Denny Crane!" "But, this is space!" "Denny Crane!" Bill Shatner is a true Legend!
Since we are talking about emotional moments, I would guess that he also felt utter fear realizing the vastness of space and its own size compared to the cosmos. Probably he visually experienced the fragility of own existence.

First time in my life I can really say I am green with envy. What an experience!
Captian Kirk was blown awaaaaay😁😄
More like all of them were blown away really. Given the compression fractures to their spines from the impact, their broken hips, femurs, most likely their pelvis and several ribs....you could say they were blown away alright. It's a wonder not one of them had to be evacuated by medevac and rushed to a hospital or even survived the ground impact for that matter. Something smells like caca here. I think I know what it is.

@@susiefairfield7218 I just see through the CGI, the blatantly obvious lack of vital components necessary to sustain life at such an altitude where breathable o2 is zero. It has that very same vibe as when watching the alleged "moon landing" by a couple of guys in virtually nothing more than an aluminum foil wrapped cardboard box that shot rainbow sparks and that was filmed by someone who would have had to have preceded their arrival to catch such an event on film. Years of digging and research have yet to confirm who was on the moon recording that second moon landing as the first would have carried the video crew. Same feeling.
