  • Tillicim and the other Orca's were/are suffering from major animal abuse at the hands of the Sea World higherups. There is an entire documentary about it called Black Fish. Sea World had plenty of forewarning that Tillicim was becoming more and more aggressive and did nothing about it because it would hurt their bottom line. They even used the trainers as a scape goat when things started to heat up.

    • Best way to think about it is imagine yourself in prison for many years, and you were never given any reason for your sentencing, and you slowly go crazy because you have no freedom, you get angry and one day you snap and go for one of the guards...that's essentially the environment they were kept in, and being intelligent creatures, it comes to no surprise, that anger and claustrophobia boiled over into assaulting humans.

  • Great video! Just wanted to let you know the death of Dawn was actually at the end of the show not the beginning. After the afternoon dining with Shamo show Dawn was playing g with Tillicim in the pool where she was at as hugging him and doing some interactions that were like a little performance for all the kids and other people leaving the show. She was dragged in by her hair or her arm (there are witnesses who say both it’s never been fully confirmed what area he grabbed) they believe he was upset and frustrated because during the show he didn’t perform a task correctly so Dawn did what she was supposed to do and didn’t reward him with the food. It was a trick that had him circling the length of the pool waving his fin to the crowd and then when he heard the whistle to come back to the trainer and he would get food. He did the waving of the fin but he didn’t hear the command to come back so he continued waving and circling until the second or third whistle when he finally hear what Dawn was asking him to do. He had been known to be frustrated and would literally bang his head into the walls of his tank because he was just bored and had nothing to occupy his time. He was also captured in the wild and separated from his mother. When he arrived at his first park he was severely bullied by two female whales who attacked him especially at night when they would be locked away in this modified shacks that went around their tanks and made their enclosure even smaller. Like 1/3 the size of the tank in Orlando. The whales were constantly fed smaller amounts of food because it would make them easier to train because they would be more willing to do what the trainer wanted because it meant food. Dawn died because Tilli got frustrated because he didn’t have an outlet to swim away or do what he wanted. Imagine being forced to live in a bathroom with two of your classmates that you probably don’t even get along with. You can’t leave the bathroom and the two people you live with are from different families, cultures, backgrounds, etc. when you get mad you can’t go anywhere you just have to live there in that bathroom for life! Tilli didn’t attack Dawn because he wanted to hurt and kill her (that is what former trainers who worked with him, Dawn, and other whales have said) he was frustrated and he lashed out like a toddler having a tantrum. Except this toddler is a 5 ton killer whale who literally ripped her arm off, scalped her, played with her corpse, and then proceeded to guard her body for more than an hour refusing to allow the other trainers and staff to remove her body from the tank.

    • @@sroy9789 happy to. I have watched a lot of documentaries on Sea World and how they are behind a. Good majority of all marine parks. Even ones they claim to have no association with, there have been people who did some digging and found shady connections that are pretty damning. Sea world has spent so much money trying to bury their disgusting practices that have led to the suffering of thousands of animals and humans. They have tried to blame the trainers and said they violated safety policies which is flat wrong. Sea world has covered up injuries, illnesses, and breading practices because they don’t care about who they hurt as long as they get to keep making money. Dawn was only doing what she was trained to do and what she had done before 1,000s of times. She is not at fault. Tillie was simply frustrated and reacted like any animal who feels cornered, he knew Dawn and did have a connection with her but, it doesn’t matter if Tillie wasn’t trying to hurt her. He was an Orca who has teeth strong enough to crush the meat angle bones of a great white shark, even biting down at half of his power would have been devastating to any human body. Humans are very fragile sacks of bones and meat, we are not going to have a good outcome when an orca puts any part of our body in their very powerful jaws and bites down (even if it’s only slightly).

  • Not ALL movie depictions of orcas portray them as sweet and affectionate toward people. I remember a movie I saw when I was a kid back in the 80s. It starred Richard Harris (Dumbledore from the first two Harry Potter films). At the beginning of the film, Harris' character kills the female of a pair of orcas and for the remainder of the movie that female's mate it hunting Harris. It was actually a really good movie. (NOTE: Just 'imdb'ed the movie and it was simply called Orca and was released in 1977; I just didn't see it until the 80s since I myself was only "released" in late 1975. Definitely woth watching at least once for anyone who is interested.)

  • Most people that talk about Orca in this generic manner, even WATOP, tend to generalize them as the "cruel, killing machines". I have seen a different side of them. I have a friend that works around Orca most of the year. One day, he discovered that their matriarch had gotten stuck, trying to get at some fish that hide in shallow water. The tide had gone out earlier than usual. He checked on her condition, to see if she was sick. Satisfied that she was not, he began digging a path for her to get back into the water, using a water pump to flood it, so that it worked like a water slide. He was able to get her back into the water quickly. Using a water jet, he followed her back to her pod, to see if she developed any problems from being stuck. If you don't know, their own weight can crush their insides, even injuring them. He described to me what he believes was her telling them about the experience. He said: "At one point, they all turned their attention to me. Their matriarch approached, made some kind of vocalization, before moving off to the side. From there, a few of them began hitting me with echolocation while she watched. In the end, it made me pretty sore. I think she made them stop. She made a short bark just before they quit." He went on to say that shortly after, one of the matriarchs daughters brought him a fish and, stated that they only shared food with family. I was able to dive with him after this and, can testify that they treat him like family. Once, he and I got charged at by a white shark. Quickly, two orca were on the creature, ramming it. Another stayed with us, until the shark left the area.

Imagine being trapped in a bathtub for a decade. Alone. Paraded around in a slightly bigger bathtub for 60 minutes 6 days a weeks and the back in your bathtub with nothing to do. • It is kind of sad how you portrait Orcas as these unpredictable killer machines even though attacks on humans have only ever happened with Orcas in captivity where they have to live under horrible conditions in very tight spaces. Wild Orca are actually extremely friendly towards humans. What would it do to you if someone seperated your family and put you in a cage for the rest of your life? Would it be damaging enough for you to kill someone? I think it could be. I highly recommend the documentary "Blackfish" for people who want to know the real how and why of these tragic attacks, beyond the usual "ORCA ARE DANGEROUS" hysteria.

Orca never ever kill human in the wild you could search it up... Orca only hurt human when they're force to live in captivity they will feel frustrated and when they're annoyed they will hurt people is their way to showing off to human not to mess or bother them too much... imagine being the top of food chain in the ocean just to be capture and force to be a clown for human entertainment ? never ever support those Orca show !!! even if Orca live alone Orca will still dominate as a predator so all the Orca you see in captivity are being track down and kidnaped... they're wild animal they're smart predator they're killer whale so you can't blame them when they being wild and what does wild animal do when they feel annoyed ??? even domesticated dog would rip you to piece look as dog attack per year or else you would see more human death by Orca... Orca are not the only one killing for sport a lot of animal kill for fun human also hunting and killing animal for fun to the point it make some animal extinct... dolphin also kill for fun they will drown people j4f they will play with a puffer fish and throw them like a ball... And we only explored the oceans for a brief amount out of the 200,000 years. And even if they do develop a taste for humans, much like wolves they will still avoid us because they know we can shoot at them with harpoon or guns.
