Tom Hardy best of British and the late great James Gandolfini LAST movie combined with Noomi Repace alone with a well written storyline was a hit for me thank you.
I particularly like the line delivered by Detective Torres to Bob right at the end, when he says, "no one sees you coming, do they Bob?" Great line.
My favorite line of the movie.
I saw this and totally enjoyed it !
Soft spoken and carrying a way bigger stick.
Best part of the film no doubt about it. He knew the strength of him.
That summed up the movie. Mild mannered Bob is a stone cold killer. 😄👍
"Be wary of the man who does not speak, and the dog that does not bark" An old Native American saying.
I'm kind of a "quiet riot." I just wanna work, love the circle I've created, and be peaceful. More importantly, left alone.
@@keith2111 and others, I'm sure.
Richard, that's so so right in my experience so far in this life, ,,, the quiet dogs,,,, either been mistreated or are thinkers. @@user-xv1gn7yk3t sorry about your dog, but I believe that the point of the saying is that quiet dogs and men are not talkers, they are doers. They don't make noise they take action.

Tom Hardy is a fabulous actor. Like Gary Oldman, he so versatile in taking on completely different roles/characters in movies and TV series. A true genius.
no
He's in my top three.
@@evanfinch4987 definitely a yes..
@@johncase2408 Tom Hardy is Alfie Solomon he literally became that character Like all great actors before him
Tom Hardy, Noomi Rapace, James Gandolfini and Matthias Schoenaerts in one movie? That is a critical mass of brilliant actors that makes me wanna watch this movie.
RIP James Gandolfini he will be loved for ever....
Yep.. He was definitely a game changer, i.e., It's truly amazing that the Italian community embraced the casting of a gay actor as its favorite mob boss.
@@ICDUMPEPL Maybe because, if he was (which I'm sure there were gay italian mafia men throughout the years, and still are), he wasn't flamboyant about it. Business is business. What people do in their bedrooms should not have to be something that is apparent at all times, nor should it define the character of the individual... especially when it comes to business.
@@kingdomcome1617 Mental illness among one's business partners is always a concern.
@@ICDUMPEPL Uh, James Gandolfini was married with children, so I'm not sure where you're getting the "gay" part from, but in any event, homosexuality is not a mental illness.
James Gandolfini was not gay.
James Gandolfini was one of the greatest actor's that ever graced the silver screen. He is sorely missed 😢
I liked the way Chovka was portrayed. Everybody was afraid of him and when he tried to put them at ease, he'd tell a joke and nobody knew whether to laugh or not.
This is the role that set Tom Hardy's demeanor as an actor in my mind. Phenomenal movie
You should watch Locke…I highly recommend it. Best acting I’ve ever seen.
You probably should see him in Bronson
Never got how The Drop went under the radar,a well crafted film
I do! They stupidly moved to the setting from Dorchester, Mass to Brooklyn. I’m not saying it had to be set in Dorchester; but Brooklyn? Putting it in Brooklyn makes Brooklyn & NYC a character, changes the whole dynamic. Also, it’s a movie for grown ups, but they sold it like it was just some paint-by-numbers Scorsese rip-off. And finally the studio buried it. Gave it ZERO promotion. (This was also at the very end of the brief, but intense- “We’re going to make this tiny Swedish actress who’s never even been a lead in an English language production the biggest star on earth! ‘Why?’- you ask?? Cuz Ridley Scott made a drunken bet with Christopher Nolan!”-era. So they had no female lead to promote the film.
It isn't the loud ones that should be feared. But the ones who are quiet, because they never reveal their true nature until they are pushed to far.
In that lifestyle, fear everybody. It's the safer bet.
Gospel!
That's the kind of thing a quiet person says to make themselves feel better about being picked on.
*too
That’s right!
I really liked this movie, and how understated Tom Hardy's character stayed. Observed all, biding his time until the right time to take action.
One of the most underrated movies I have ever watched. Tremendous acting, engaging storyline...
It's not underrated it got great reviews
One of my favorite movies. I appreciate the gritty realism. Bob is one of the all time great movie characters.
What is the actual title of the film?
@@indrarush91 The drop.
I started to watch the movie without any expectations, but it was a surprisingly good thriller. Great acting from Tom Hardy and Noomi Rapace
Read the book, it is also great.
Yep... Noomi Rapace was great in Prometheus, and Tom Hardy always does a great job of hiding the fact that he's gay.
@@ICDUMPEPL just cuz you've experimented doesn't mean you're gay.
@@shannonmoore5549 Only a woman or a man who has engaged in gay activity would make that assertion.
@ICDUMPEPL he's happily married to a VERY lucky lady and they have kids. They are in love. Yea he has a past where he experimented but again it was the PAST. Jealous much?
One of the best films I’ve seen in the past 10-20 years. Tom Hardy is brilliant. James Gandolfini the same. I highly recommend it. Great twist at the end.
A great movie that leads to introspection as to what we think we would do under same circumstances.
Yes sir!!! "Do you see where this is going Eric?"
I think we have a different definition for getting "fatally beaten"...😅
Misspeak. He says “severely beaten” later in the video lol
Yeah, that was quite a “misspeak”.
Those that speak of violence do not know violence and have no knowledge of what it actually does to others. Those who never speak of violence are the ones who have experienced violence and know what it can do, and know what they can do to others. So they refrain from violence and never have the desire to speak of it or use it.
What hell are you talking about ?
Very well said sir!
Not always true
What’s that.
Not true
This is a really good movie. It deserves more attention than it’s gotten. It has a great cast, excellent actors all and a great story. Watch it!!
Tom Hardy is badass, you can always count on him leaving a body trail in his movies, at one point or another.
I wish more independent films like these were made today. It’s a great movie.
I love it! "Hit the dislike thumbs down twice, just to be sure!" No telling how many ignorant trolls they get with that one!
Good, solid storytelling. Remember watching this as an in flight movie. Didn’t know anything about it but liked the actors involved. Was not disappointed. Recap wasn’t bad either!
A great movie! Tom Hardy is amazing as usual and the chemistry he shares with Noomi Rapace is really nice. I believe this is James Gandolfini's last movie before his passing. RIP
Great acting from the entire cast....very underrated film IMO.
You could tell J Gandolfini was very unhealthy in this movie. So so sad😢
Yep... It's amazing to witness the performances of Hardy and Gandolfini, two talented gay actors who always manage to pull off the believable portrayal of their straight characters.
@@ICDUMPEPL Their personal sexual preferences mean absolutely nothing to me. They are professional actors with a lot of experience.
@@reggierico That's like saying that it's not notable that , "friend of Merv," Robert Downey Jr. can pull off an Afro American convincingly, or that a cunt like Will Smith, who many in Philly would refer to as a, "sweet boy," can, on film, approximate one of the greatest heavyweight fighters of all time. Shit... Even Eddie Murphy should be recognized for taking time away from men's feet in order to play a White guy on SNL. Look,... All that I'm saying is that based upon their performances in this film, few people would have guessed how much cock has been chugged by this duo.
I haven't seen anything Tom Hardy as been in that hasn't been worth watching and this is definitely worth a look.
Thank you. You have a gift for narrating, enjoyed the summary. Just enough character intrigue with a somewhat predictable plot to keep it interesting.
Thank you so much for your kind words! I'm really glad you enjoyed the summary and found the balance of character intrigue and plot engaging. Your feedback is much appreciated, and Thanks again!
So Randy was FATALLY beaten …… and yet is sitting upright holding his face. ???
"...and they agree to hang out" is gold
When the camera goes in on Nadia's face, as Bob is telling Deeds that he's the one that killed Glory Days, is the best scene in the movie for me. She says everything without saying anything at all, literally
I thought "drop bars" lived in Australia and attacked tourists.
Drop Bears 😀
Sometimes you eat the drop bar, sometimes the drop bar eats you
I watched the movie twice several years ago. Loved it. I really like Tom Hardy......they never see him coming.
"The Drop" is a hidden gem. I believe the last film of the great actor, James Gandolfini.
You'd be right on that one. It's hard to believe it's 10 years ago that he passed.
...and an early Tom Hardy! Destined to be one of the greats!!!
. His last film was with that girl who played Elaine from Seinfeld
A real young and skinny Tom Hardy is in Band of Brothers, my wife watched it with me a bunch of times and she never knew it was him
@@BradBrassman I believe he was already above whatever Gandolfini was trying to pull in here. Tom works hard at each role, no matter what diverse and freakish scripts thrown at him to explore and adapt. And so the female lead with them in here, very impressive performance. I'm very disappointed in Gandolfini's role, but that is the case with him as with Paul Giametti. Both Mercurial, some times quite special and other times just schutzpah not even trying
Why on earth would a Mob owned bar ever call the police?
Bars do not call, employees or patrons do, and they might not know to not call the police.
Now that I think of it you would think the mob would have their own security team.
There was a 3rd man working in the bar when it initially got robbed, and he got hit so hard by one of the robbers that he required emergency medical services. Emergency dispatchers immediately call law enforcement when that happens. There was a scene where Marv scolded the guy about it in the movie
Love your narration. The only flaw I found was that Eric actually demands the $10k and sets a deadline for 10am next morning. Bob actually is sitting at his table with the money when Eric doesn't show, so that is why he brings it to the bar.
It's a robot voice. There's another account that does this with movies I found. It mispronounced simple words.
The voiceover also said that he thought of the name Rocco first then seen the statue. That’s actually backwards. He seen the statue first and then suggested the name at the pet store afterward.
The dude that does this is from india and he uses an ai voice to read out the script he writes.
I hit the like button twice because this was awesome! Bob is a beast.
Tom Hardy is good in everything he does
This was such a great movie. I honestly had kind of forgotten about it.
Tom Hardy is great actor and a nice person to work with.
3:40 Fatally? Looks alive to me.
I would love to see a part 2 to this movie
Great film, stellar cast, with unique plot lines. Very much enjoyed this film. Solid recap as well.
Thanks
She is definitely attracted to dangerous men, whether she realizes it or it's subconscious. I've known a lot of women like this.
I think most people feel trapped in their locale, that they can't leave, go to another city or town. They are afraid of the unknown, or being alone.
Most probably figure, by some faulty programming inherited in their hard drive, "So long he's dangerous to others but not me.... and I maybe the safest female in the World. He will never turn on me or betray me" That in part reveals them as antisocial and immoral accomplices. Which no matter the ratio of domestic violence victims, they seem to not have been fully removed from the breeding pool or swamp, like the many defective criminals, murderers, robbers and molesters, probably deserving their own Darwin awards
Most women
James Gandolfini's last film R.I.P Love this movie! Every roll is cast to perfection!
Great job, please keep up the good work - thank you! Cheers from Sydney Australia.
Thanks, I really appreciate it.
"YOU EMBARRASSED ME MAN, WITH YOUR HIPPTY SHOES!!" Great movie.
I've seen this movie once, and I think need to see it again. The story is good, the characters are believable as is the interaction between them. It seems that as a vieuwer one gets to see a different set of motivation of each character well thought out and presented. The cast of this movie is excellent, all the parts have been given to the right actor. Great movie...must watch again!!
Very good movie. This could be any neighborhood in any big city and the people are flawed like real people. Reminds me of Chicago. I think I had a thing with Nadia when I was a younger man.
lol "and they agreed to hang out" well played bob
That cop had a full cup of coffee in a ceramic coffee mug. What cup holder is going to fit that??
Lol and u could tell the other cups were empty. Still an awesome movie
If you haven't seen this entire film I highly recommend it. Hardy is fantastic in it.🎬
your good at this, keep going !!!!
Thanks
...Tony's FINALLY wearing 'THE JACKKKKET' 😉
...I'm glad someone remembered!😉
Really good movie. Good characters as well as good acting.
Can't wait to see this 6/4. Saw it years ago. Great movie, great role for Hardy. Years ago, my pitch partner was a strong silent type, an Irish fire hydrant with arms and legs, hands like baseball mitts, no neck whatsoever. Scared the hell out of me when I first started hanging at that bar, couldn't believe Louie suggested I play with Slip. He was a collector/enforcer for the mafia. Many years ago - wonder if that is why I like this movie so much.
If Tom Hardy is in this movie it must be good
i loved this movie and need to see it again and again. superb acting...
Great job!!
I did not read every comment but saw no mention of Dennis Lehane. His books are turned into excellent movies
Great movie. Very underrated
"Fatally beaten outside" *Man lives* Fatally =/= Severely
All summed up by….”and they agree to hang out” lol
They agree to hang out , what a fantastic ending !
I'd forgotten about this movie. Good movie.
Great movie-Hardy is always on his A game
great film and James Gandolfini's last work
Excellent synopsis of what I consider to be a great movie.
For me one of the most underrated movies of the last decade
You get left wanting what the Hell Tom Hardy used to before the bar...could be a film on its own... If he wraps up limbs and handles a gun like that.....bit of Tom Wick maybe???
John Wick?
3:38 Shouldn't Randy be dead if he is fatally beaten?
It was misspoke. Should have say "severely beaten"
well done...subbed

very cool narration
Hit it twice... good one
As a writer, this reverse analysis of plot is fascinating to me.
Sounds like a great movie.
Thank you for retelling the story. I enjoyed it. I'd wished you had spent a little more time on Marv towards the end.
Glad you enjoyed it!
"Nadia is both scared and in love with Bob" Well that sums up a lot.
Wow, in 17 minutes I just saw a whole movie without watching it entirely. Thanks!!!
You're welcome
You are so right on the aspect of if it was a mob controlled bar they would not call the police
HOW do i miss all these great movies with big stars in them😮😮😅😅😅😅 im going to start googling my favorite stars and all the movies they did lol...
If u like Tom Hardy, watch the movie "Warrior". U can watch it with the most manly man you've ever met, u both will be crying at the end. That's true the first time u watch it as much as it is the 20th time u watch it
A good story .
Great movie. Highly recommended.
This is great little movie.
Is this one of the last movies that James Ganfolfini did? Surprised that I haven't heard of this movie.

This started as a short story published in playboy many years ago, captivating.

This was great. I was riveted.
WHY DO I LOVE NOOMI RAPACI SO MUCH 😂😂😂😂❤❤❤
Nice job.

Bob did what he had to do for survival and to save his girl and the dog.
I honestly like watching a movie like this with everything getting explained to me along the way, I'm not good at paying attention. Also anytime seeing the late Tony Soprano and I know the movie's a good one, he didn't do too many stinkers, except the Robert Redford prison thing anyway
I'm glad you enjoyed the movie experience with explanations along the way, and it's always a treat to watch Tony Soprano's performances. Everyone has their own preferences, and it's great that you found a viewing style that works for you. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
