We flew to Germany to check out the new BMW i7! Packed with some insane features the BMW i7 is one of the most luxurious cars we've ever seen. The i7 defines luxury with a 31-inch theatre screen which is controlled by a remote in what BMW calls the master chair in the back of the car. Sergi gives us a closer look at the BMW i7 and shows us why it's one of the coolest cars in the world.

Im obsessed with this. Not only did they make it look super nice, the touches they did with the crystals and the ambient light cool crystal structure. The headlights with the beating light behind the crystals. The tv moving with the seats. And the colours and blending of colours across the ambient light are just very beautiful colours and satisfying. So cool this is coming to market

I'm not a BMW fan at all. But the interior design on this should be a good push to my brand of choice, Mercedes, to start raising the stakes. Incredible interior design.
That’s a good point and I agree! I feel like they wouldn’t change too much on the s class tho because it has to be all proper and perfect and elegant. But perhaps they’ll add a new line or venture into this territory with new electric vehicles, whether part of the s-line or a new line altogether.

Everyone who like the design of the BMW in the 90's, especially the perfect shape of a 7 serie E38, cannot be amazed by the evolution of the brand right now. Ok, this is no longer a car for drivers but for palaces and neo-rich people with no interest on cars. They just buy a symbol of success, could be a yatch, a villa, a smartphone in pure gold, It doesn't matter, it's just investment in a big bunch of useless innovations on 4 wheels...

It's indeed a masterpiece BMW, but if there's one thing that i learned from Manny Koshbin is don't buy a Super or Hyper car until you have 10 times the price of it in your Bank account, when you purchase a Super car you add a car to your garage but u add also maintenance and unexpected damages that can happen in future

@@bernardsegouin6773 certainly, If you have that much money sitting in your bank account, that means that you are not investing your money properly. Money sitting in the bank doesn't really do anything for you because interest rates are so slow. It's better to have $1 million in a place where it can make you 5% on returns rather than having that $1 million sitting in your bank account making you 0.5% returns.

The one thing this car is missing is a digital rear view mirror, especially with the theater screen. If it were me, I'd want my chauffeur to be able to safely see behind him while driving me around. BMW really needs to get those implemented. GM and Lexus has them in several models the past few years now. The X4 and X6 drastically needs them too.
No, imho all implementations of digital rear view mirrors suck and are inferior to regular mirrors.
@privettoli - In normal situations, perhaps it can be a tad gimmicky. However, when your view is obstructed with gear or people's heads or with the screen in this car down, it is extremely useful. When the view is partially obstructed because of being in a coupe or coupe suv, or there's weather making it difficult, having a digital rear view mirror is extremely beneficial. I've driven a car with it, and even in normal driving, I liked it a lot. It's a much clearer view of the rear surroundings versus looking through the vehicle before seeing the outside. It can take a little time to get used to due to your perspective being a little different from what you've used to forever, but it can be very helpful in many situations. They do have a switch to make it a normal mirror, you know, so if you personally don't like it then you personally don't need to use it!
@@privettoli Not as a replacement, but an addition especially if the person in the back is going to be watching the tv with the shades up
@@ifareaged thanks for clarification. I personally don't think it's a necessity since even if somebody is watching a TV or if shades are obstructing the view, there's small number of cases when rear view mirror is actually needed, I simply use side mirrors to see what I need to see. So I wonder what would you be looking at in the rear view mirror in that case.
@@privettoli i think it would be usefull for blind spots, sometimes you cant see through your side mirros so having a aditional digital rear view mirror would def help with that, as the guy said not as a replacement but as a adition, that can help you to avoid a impact in trafic which is always a good thing, one way to do that would be by implementing a high quality reverse cam and put it to be always on when the back shades are up and that would solve the problem since you have a huge side screen in the front too... i personaly look at the rear view mirror all the time in trafic especially when its stop to avoid making any mistake and also avoid to get rear ended by someonelse, and i would love a feature like that in a car like this, it gives your passenger and yourself a bit more safety not only against that but also against thieves in trafic
You should review the XM that’s chillin in the background next video lol. That 7 series is next level. As a BMW fan, I’ve always had to admit that Mercedes has better interior but for once I actually think the tables have turned, not only is BMW living up to their performance standards, but they’ve risen the luxury standard as well. Wow

The design was taking from the previous S Class though with the side by side screen thing. Mercedes did it in 2013 already. But they abandoned that idea for their new style which was a huge mistake because their old style looked better.
Mercedes never made the “better” interior, it was always the prettiest. I’d say the quality was shotty right after w211, 204 and the last w222

Uh have you seen the maybach? Personal preference ofc so I respect what u saying but I gotta say maybach for numerous reasons, this thing got a tv that’s about the only thing they got on the maybach, even a s580 s class tbh looks ALOT more luxury and better materials

How can you see out of the back wondow when driving if the 30" screen is in the way?
How does the passenger and rear view mirror work when the passenger seat and rear TV screen are tilted forward and down respectively?
Try reviewing the car after 8 years of solid driving... curious to know what still works etc.

BMW has just always been way ahead of their competition. I remember back in the day when the first 7 series was the first ever car without a manual handbrake and host of other features that were a first. Fast forward to today we see them being the first with reversing assistant in the 3 series, first with a literal TV in the car etc.

This Beemer is officially one of the only cars i know currently available that can possibly make any of the Rolls-Royce and Maybach models features look 'basic' in terms of luxury... 😍🤑🤩 Also, for just starting @ 135k as the base price sounds like a complete bargain for what you're really getting compared to the quarter|half a mill ticket for the competition. Yeah but for 135k you don't get most of these features in the video. If you want all those options, you have to pay 200k.

@@mosesmuhane That's your opinion my guy...i personally feel like it can 💯% be compared to the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class in particular, specifically for the Beemer|Benz dynamic alone, but also for the fact that car goes for around 200k which is considered the 'entry level' and they're more similarities there than you might think overall, but yet the i7 has alot more advanced, innovative tech within it. And besides, as far as the whole daily driver aspect goes, i don't think any of these executive luxury vehicles are really catering to you driving it but rather you being driven by a chauffeur and experiencing it's full luxury itf place.

no for me....dont like the exterior....its like more of the same. it's like an old model from 20 years ago whith some new electronics in it but that's it. We need a totally new platform, a complete new exterior design....no just the interior.

the rear of the car is PERFECT! absolutely love it! Mean, clean cut, straight forward.. no need for too many twists, curves, and turns.
Most of the functions can be operated by voice, open and close doors from inside, you can set the drivers door to shut automatically when the brake is pressed also you activate the Theatre mode by voice too. Very cool car

Greetings from Scotland! Once you have had a 7 series, you won't ever want anything else, believe me! Over the last 25 years I've had a few and I currently own one! I simply haven't found a better vehicle.
Not anymore. i7 is not bespoke, it's based on a heavy ice platform therefore transmission tunnel at the back. It's not as aero, not as fast as an EQS, Nio ET7 model s. BMW has some way to catch up to industry leaders

How many 7 series have you actually owned for an extended period? I'm talking 25 years plus of seriously long extended (months) of actual driving road tests over hundreds of thousands of miles. Never had one breakdown or fault (other than a bulb replacement once). Show me a limo that has that sort of reliability and durability in the same price bracket?
@@peterhowells7309 Doesn't matter what you are. And what I said is not my opinion but facts. i7 is based on petrol based 7 which is not a bespoke EV platform. Search it. Bespoke EV platforms are lighter and made tailored to EVs. Rivals such as EQS ET7 and Model S are all bespoke Also the fastest variant of i7 is slower than faster variants of all above rivals. Search it yourself.

Hi, it's Ronnie from Coggin BMW. There is a 4th way to open the door, my friend. You can use voice commands using the Hello BMW voice commands, once you turn on the Hello BMW feature, all you have to say from inside or outside the BMW is Hello BMW, OPEN ALL DOORS, OR CLOSE ALL DOORS,or you can say Hello BMW open driver's from door, or close driver's front door, or any individual door by saying open the door you'd like to open or close, to give the voice commands from outside the vehicle a window must be open or the window cracked open a little. so the operating Ai system can hear your voice. Definetely the nicest interior setup I've ever seen. I'm sure Rolls Royce & Maybach both have nicer seat maybe, but this is way way better than both of us in every other way in my opinion.

I’ll wait 10-12 years for when it’s $6400 car with a dash full of warnings and codes. If you look at some of the most expensive 7 series BMW from the late 90s early 2000s, these cars depreciated like nothing else. You can buy a California 2001 750il for $3800 in a “running” condition as I have. That car was 100k new!
Man let people enjoy their life and car. Who cares about 10-12 years from now. No day is promised.
@@nateroyalent.1254 of course, they can enjoy their $134k car and their $1700+ a month payment. All I’m saying is that I want to enjoy it after them for a small fraction of what they pay. I can’t afford it new but I can definitely afford it after 12 years or so. Most luxury cars depreciate like nothing else: Mercedes, BMW, Maserati, Range Rovers all cost around 100k when new but a decade later are worthless. There are cars that don’t go through that like Lexus and Acura as far as luxury cars and some others that don’t loose their value..

The exterior is still not everyone's taste. I think it works best in this matte black. That said, BMW knocked this interior out of the park. I recently sat in thr back and drivers seat of the New Maybach and was wowed by that interior. I think this new 7 rivals that, if not beat it.
I totally agree SDS. BMW changed its exterior a couple of years ago and I haven't been a fan, while I think the high end Mercedes now looks better than the top end BMWs. There is no doubt, however, the BMW interior is amazing.
@@jamesrawlins735hard disagree. The EQS looks like a blob and not near as expensive looking as this. This is literally a baby rolls royce. Look at the front end of the rolls royce spectre..(bmw owns rolls royce btw) mercedes has went the single iPad for everything route and it's ruined their interior. Also they don't make V8s anymore and they sound terrible while BMW has far better performance
Extremely passionate of luxury at any high level, after watching this video, it put me in perspective of a head to head competition against the roll Royce phantom. The spoke person was on point with his description of the vehicle and had great energy
