I am an Australian and I feel at home in Switzerland...... The large mountains, and being in the valley, so at home. I now watch a few Finnish channels and want to come and visit. I'm finnish and for a long time now, I have been dreaming about a chance to work and live in another country, at least for some time, but even if I happened to find love there, I am quite sure I would strongly want to come back to Finland to build my life, and especially to raise my kids.

As an OUTSIDER - as Dave - It would be quite diffycult to compare Estonia to Finland ! You need to be born in / One Country / to tell The Difference ! How Do You see it ? There are some 30.000 Estonians living in Suomi - but how many Finns living in Estonia ? Could You Tell ?

Great ! Finns and Hungarians are like - lost Brothers ! I was to Budapest 1986 - when You had the 1st Formula One at Budapest ! I had Great time that summer / except Kekkonen died on My Way home - when I was in Austria !

Not sure why I never saw this video until now! I'd absolutely LOVE to live in Finland. I also work a pretty mundane 9-5 job. It's secure but not stimulating at all. I would have no idea where to start though with building up my social media. So kudos that you've been able to do that. :)

Hi ! I am dutch and i watched your channel while I was still living in Canada( lived there for 6 years). Recently moved back to the Netherlands. But always had a 'musical connection' and interest in Finland. I hope to visit Finland soon now that I moved back to Holland everything is sooo close by ;) maybe I'll move to Finland next lol :)

I had a samekind of experience in the 1994 when I moved to San Francisco:) but now a days I’m living in Finland but anyway it takes a lot courage to move foreign country.
Life is all about KOHTALO and seizing the moment. It all started when you two met each other, right place in the right time, what about if you were not in that train at the moment those years ago, where would you be now?! Also thank you for sharing your story with us, me and my Swedish Fiance are also considering our future in terms of where to live, he moved here (UK) almost 5 year ago but we feel moving to Sweden might be more for us in future :)
It is really a jump into the unknown... we did the jump the other way around as we wanted to live in Finland originally but due to my fiancé not being able to make realistical living in Finland without going self-employed, we in the end made the choice for the UK. And yeah it was scary, exiting and devastating to be in the UK without a job and no clue what to start with... All good and well now (2,5 years later) but after moving here, sitting in our apartment trying to get employed was one experience that was good once but don't want to repeat it ever again xD All the best for you and Cat, I follow your channel exactly because you two chose Finland over UK :D

I took the leap of faith from France to Finland last December. I don't regret it, ever. I met a wonderful person once here and there's no way I can see myself going back despite the financials ups and downs. It's not the easiest life choice, but on a personal level it feels worth it. edit: I was in those smaller % of people not living in Finland and subscribed to you at the time. Now I'm part of the big % of Finland-based viewers.

I'm a Finn but I live in Scotland with my Scottish partner. We are thinking that one day we'll move to Finland, especially if we decide to have kids. Thus it is good to watch your videos and hear your thoughts! Btw, I would like see a vid about Finnish children series, namely TiTi Nalle, Rölli and Hilarius Hiiri! We were living in Australia, earning the same money but never having anything left after paying bills and eating. After getting really sick, and having to cease employment, not entitled to benefits(NZ passport), hubs(who is a Fin) got a job offer so we moved to Finland. Now earning less than what I was in Australia...We can still live, enjoy life and have money left over to save, travel oh and YES appreciate what proper winter insulation feels like lol

@@holoholopainen1627 I love it! Coming from being surrounded by sea, to being surrounded by countries, and being able to visit as many as possible for cheap. I love it! The language is difficult to learn, pronouncing is similar to Maori but the pronunciation is different. It's 3 times cheaper than both Australia and New Zealand, and yes close to family which is awesome!
