  • Kobe deserved the MVPS of 2006 - 2007, 2007 - 2008, 2008 - 2009 and that of the 2009 - 2010 season.

    • Also, 02-03, 03-04, 05-06. If he wasn’t injured in 04-05 then he probably would have deserved it that year as well. And while we are on this topic. If there was a playoff mvp. He would deserve it for 01, 02, 04, 08, 09, 10 undeniably. In 2001, Kobe became the first player in NBA history to have back to back 45+PTS 10+REBS in playoff history. Kobe set the record for the highest +/- in playoff history. Shaq had a negative +/- that year however. Same year Shaq called Kobe the best player in the world. Also the same year Phil Jackson said Kobe was playing a better all around game than anyone he’s ever coached(including MJ).

  • The most impressive thing here is NOT the numbers. It's the fact that he was so fucking good at the time, he could do whatever he wanted whenever he wanted. Get 20 in one quarter, then settle down and set everybody up, get 7-8 assists easily, then come back and score 20 more in a quarter just because he felt like it. Just ridiculous

  • What impresses me most about Kobe is how fucking versatile he was. If you watch LeBron's 40+ point games, it's him getting FTAs and straight-line drives. Watch Curry's, it's him being unbelievably hot from 3. Then watch Kobe's and it's him driving off isos, facing up on the elbows, both banking and swishing jumpers, posting up, getting good looks within the context of the triangle, scoring in transition, working P&R with Pau. I think modern basketball is so obsessed with efficiency that it kind of forgets the value of a player who could do literally anything.

The suns had Steve Nash, Shaquille Oneal, Amare Stoudamire, Grant Hill, and Leandro Barbosa. • MVP award has always been a joke. The fact that the media decides who wins makes it a complete mockery. Letting guys who judge the game of basketball off narratives decide the outcome of the award makes it a joke. 06 MVP should've gone to kobe, lebron or shaq and Nash's other MVP should've gone to shaq as well. Lmaoo the two best players of the decade (Kobe/Shaq) only ends up with 1 MVP a piece. Lebron should also have like 7 MVPs by now but that dosen't matter because those guys are winners unlike a bunch of losers like Steve Nash, James Harden, Westbrook. Those guys don't contribute to winning basketball when it matters the most

    • Personally I loved the 2012-13 season, in terms of Kobe's performance, and the fact that he was the on court coach on that winning streak. The highlights made Kobe look 29 again. Plus that was when he had so much behind the scene access from Kobe, tweeting, Instagraming, being more personally open showing off his wonderful family, yet being cutthroat black mamba starting beefs and playing at ridiculously high level. Excluding the team collapses and Achilles he had one of his best season.

    • That's what I've been telling my Celtics buddies, but they ain't trying to hear it. Ariza brought hustle, defense, athleticism and Bynum would've matched Kendrick Perkins, giving him problems on the defensive end for Perk. It would go 7 no doubt, but I felt like The Lakers could've pulled it off. They should've had a 3-2 lead heading back to Boston if it wasn't for that Game 4 meltdown.

This was that Pierce , Allen, Garnett Celtics. So all eyes were on the Lakers and Kobe to see what they had to offer. Kobe went out there and destroyed the Melo and Iverson Nuggets. • This was one of Kobe's best playoff performances against a solid Nuggets team, which they were the 8th seed w/ FIFTY wins... talk about the West being loaded! If this didn't prove that Kobe was the most complete player who could score from everywhere, let alone anywhere, in a variety of ways from the midrange, footwork w/ the jab step & crossover between the legs to finish at the rim, and even beyond the arc then I don't know what does... this man DESERVED more than ONE MVP. Kobe was in complete control of this game, set the tone by dropping 20 points in the 1st quarter which set up his teammates to get involved in the 2nd & 3rd quarters, since the attention was all on him, and allowed him to cruise and then closed them out in the 4th. Enough said, and I think Reggie meant to say "best player on the PLANET."

  • This team started Luke Walton and old man Derrick Fisher had Jordan Farmer, Sasha Vujacic, and Vladmir Radmanovic as major role players and went to the finals in a pretty tough west. Yet LeBron couldn't even make the playoffs with Rajon Rondo, Lance Stephenson, and Brandon Ingram.

    • @Mohammad Angkaya Never talk basketball again. You clearly give no context. Also in 2013 final bron had 16 straight points in 4th quarter to get heat back in lead and in game 7 bron dropped almost 40 when Allen had 0 points. In 2016 bron led both teams in all categories

    • +Jan Mejares I know. It's like the one that got away! I mean Boston was a defensive juggernaut that year and KG was super hungry, but add a healthy Ariza and Bynum and who knows how the series would've played out.
