Partey is a massive massive player for us. It also allows Rice to play further forward. Brilliance.
Yeah yesterday was evident how important Partey is, because he is giving our midfield breathing space on/out of possesion. Ødegaard was free so was Rice everything was in balance. Although he was cought a couple of times, he just needs gametime to up to speed.
the whole team is massive now. rice & partey will be a fantastic duo, 5 really good forwards and a rock solid defence. the only position i think is left back to improve, maybe. arsenal games are fun to watch, go on!
Partey fixed the team. We got past Wolves but it was a nervy performance. No nerves at all tonight. It has to be down to finally having our proper midfield with Partey, Rice and Odegaard!
We saw such a massive difference went Partey went on against Wolves, I was ecstatic the Arteta started him today.
Normally I admire with Odegaard about his vision and chances created. But today, I goanna tell few elements he got other than his vision. 1] Stamina - Damn he can run for 90 minutes nonstop. This guy has a locomotive engine in his lung. 2] His attitude and leadership - This guy is a good guy. Discipline. Not a troublemaker. Every manager will love having him in the team. Not a spoiled young boy. 3] Ability to turn his body in tight space - He is a very lightweight player. Can easily bring him down. BUT.. His turning is very incredible. He can turn 180 degrees without any problem and make the opponent get passed easily. If you rush to him too much, he can take on you by his turn and move away from you easily. The other player who can do this turn as him was Fabregas. They don't need to do hard work to take on you. Just turn the body around. That's why many defenders are scared to press him too much. He will make you like a fool by his turning ability. Maybe I should say his agility. His turn similar like the basketball players. 4] Ball control and quick feet - Another thing that scare the opponent. You won't get the ball from his feet easily. He can play the ball with his feet in tight space and make you look dumb if you try to take it from him. You have to wait and use the body strength once he starts to make a run or move. Do not go for the ball under his feet. 5] Finally his vision and ability to deliver the ball from his vision - I think I don't have to explain this. Everybody knows. What is his weakness???? Do not let him do the defending job. Stay away from the box. That's all. He cannot defend. Stay outside the box. At least we won't be given the penalty.

Robbie...don't forget Jorginho isn't good at withstanding the pressure but Partey is better at that. Jorginho couldn't survive the pressure vs Spurs in the first leg & made mistake for Maddison to punish us but PARTEY, you cannot pressure Partey. He even thrives better in such pressure situations. We stick with the same formation. Partey was in both legs last season vs Spurs & we won both.
I'm always contradicting myself about where I want see rice play cause he's both good in cdm & 8 position but I'm slightly moving towards the 8 cause he provides so much more in terms of going forward especially when partey & jorgi are fit
Agree with you, Rice as 6 against mid block will always pass to wingers and we can't progress because 2 ppl always guard each wingers. It's very different when you can breach the middle (Partey's specialty) and then pass to wingers later where 1 on 1 will happen and our wingers will thrive.

Serious question should we keep Partey??? The issue with him is his injury record but with Rice in the team he will be able to be less mobile which will protect his muscles. I think Partey could revert back to his Madrid days and be the base of the midfield who is plugging gaps rather than what he has been doing for the last few years being the entire engine on his own.

Trossard aside, this is definitely our best 11 moving forward. Martinelli on form starts ahead of him. But for now til end of season, big up Trossard and may he flourish even further. Deserves to be on the starting 11 yet again. Bring in Kimmich as depth for no.6 position, and an exciting winger to rotate and challenge Saka i.e. Olise/ Ferran Torres/ Pedro Neto, we can go again in Champions League next season.
