About the video
Robbie grew up in a poor background with his parents and 3 brothers who loved football. Fast forward to now, Robbie owns AFTV and DR sports, two media brands that have over nearly 2M subscribers, over 3.5B views on KZhead and are multi-million dollar businesses. In this episode, Robbie reveals the TRUTH about building AFTV in a way that he has never done before
Thanks for having me on Calum. You got a lot out of me 😂. Best of luck with your future podcasts. Robbie Lyle 👊🏿
Appreciate you Robbie! Thanks for being so open
You're an absolute legend. That is all.
We appreciate what you do Robbie and AFTV I watch almost every show and DR sports too💪
watching from Trinidad and Tobago since the begining, inspiring story, all the bless to you and AFTV
Don Robbie. I am going through a tough time, like many you eloquently described in this video. As a regular watcher of aftv from day, as well as a fan of crucial Robbie and aware of things that happened to some of your music counterparts that made bad decisions this has really inspired me. Keep being a pillar for our society and stay true to those principles instilled to you by your parents they have clearly been invaluable ❤
I find it funny how talksport are now doing fan interviews outside stadiums after slating aftv😂
They also only took KZhead seriously in recent years really after people were uploading fan clips from talk sport and getting many views from them.
and hiring Goldbridge
Hyprocrisy at it finest
Robbie set the standard for all other fans tv, total respect to this man well done Robbie mate I hope life serves you well 👊🏻👏🏻
Mark is the goat. All his 3 channels over 1.2 million
Aftv 1.63 million and united stand 1.83million. Mark overtook but for me i respect Robbie and Mark. This two are hard workers
Robbie will forever be the pioneer. Mark is big now but he had a template set by Robbie. He’s made a few tweaks and he’s where he’s at. Remember United stand has grown much during this era of adversity. Channels grow during bad times. Growth slants when they begin to win things .
@@ketshedilemodise1603 just two of them are over 1M: United stand 1.84, TF! 1.13 M and the third one is less then 400 000 as it stands.
@@smullinsmulins6497what about red men tv ? I think they were the pioneers, they just weren’t big as aftv because they didn’t have melt down rants to rise them up the charts.
You feel this mans emotion...These Brothers of the 70s - children of the Windrush generation, had so many doors closed in their face but kept strong! Brilliant work! Brilliant interview! Thanks
I have strong memories of the Windrush generation. Knife crime, poor attitude to education and single motherhood. Honestly I felt sorry for the English.

@@narendra62 Did you feel sorry for any of the 20 million indians Churchill starved to death?
Highest respects, I literally watched AFTV grow from nothing... Its very inspiring to hear Robbie's story
Robbie is a legend on what he has done AFTV
I'm a Spurs fan but hold so much respect for Robbie. What a great human being!
he s alright Robbie
What about expressions
@@fatehrankswithout Robbie there is no expressions. Robbie planted the seed and look what has grown…
Doesn't matter who you support. I'm an Arsenal fan. I really like the football that spurs play.
I really think big ange will lead you to success.
Robbie is respected by most soccer fans worldwide. Need we say more.
That’s y we call him the don
Haha. Have you done a survey of all football fans worldwide?

Robbie is such an inspiration. As a black man in the UK to do what he’s done. He’s a brilliant role model for all on how to conduct yourself in business, hardship and even joy! Big up Robbie always
Never ceases to amaze me the jealousy and spite when someone works hard, sacrifices, and succeeds. Big up Robbie. An inspiration.
They're jealous of what you have but unsurprisingly they're not jealous of how you grafted to get it
Not different from your own government - the more you succeed, the more they ask you pay tax. £3000 to send a person to Rwanda needs your money right?
@senanur1983 Yes government wants a cut of our success That's fine, happy to give back thanks for providing us safety and stability for us to achieve our successes in life For that, I have to pay tax. I accept it. In return I look after people i take care of the vulnerable. That's my profession. However, recently the government has not been holding its end of the bargain. Our tax money is being wasted and public services are failing. That's the issue.
Just watched the Robbie Vs Simon Jordan debate 4 years ago. They really went for him and Robbie gave a a great account of himself. Ironically Robbie now has more subscribers than Talksport!😂
I wonder if Talksport & Simon Jordan would be ready for a re-match? They reckoned AFTV was only doing well because AFC were in crisis. Call him out Don Robbie!!
Simon Jordan is toxic
Simon Jordan ate him up
Fittingly more like 😂
@@jackstringer7372 And AFTV has grown even more now Arsenal are being more successful on the pitch. SJ has been proved wrong! 🤡
staunch utd fan here... there's a reason we all call him 'don' robbie. proper respect of the highest order. props my man
Robbie is a lowkey great entrepreneur. Not sure how many Americans know him, but he sets the standard for fan tvs. No one touches this channel in other countries imo
O body knows Robbie in the states my bro Football still not popular here in the states!! America has baseball American football basketball hockey European football has no place in the states. !!! And I’m a true Arsenal fan from north London Woodgreen N22😢
@@texpatrol BullS..T! No idea where You actually live or from but Football's popularity in my country is HUGE. I've been friends with the head of Chicago's Arsenal supporter's club for years. A number of those members are from North London. Hell, name a club from darn near anywhere in the world and there's a good chance they have a supporter's club in Chicago and that's just one city.
I’ve seen Robbie,Troopz and other AFTV personalities in the US while Arsenal is on tour. They are minor celebrities amongst Arsenal fans in America. AFTV, Arseblog, AVP all helping take the Arsenal fan community global.
Without Robbie… there’s no successful fan channels. Yes AFTV reached new heights during the banter era, but it opened the door for multiple people to make a living and evolve. It also gave the fans a voice and it still does today. People only dislike it because it doesn’t benefit them themselves. Much respect it Robbie.
Thank you for hosting the Don Calum 💪🏾. Great interview
Thanks for the opportunity and the time🙏🏾 COYG!!!
This guy has literally found a space in the industry and brought others in and did successfully to make matters worst he’s black I love it absolute genius and a legend
How does him being black makes matters worse???
@IngramPetersJr-nr7rm you're misinterpreting what he meant. Language barrier
@@BoxOfOranges84Um, ok.
@@haddingtoniangcp2464 What he's saying is that being black is part of the reason why Robbie/AFTV has so many antagonists. From the perspective of the people who are against him, the fact that he is black, and most of the AFTV network is black, adds to their beef with him. I hope that clears it up
@@BoxOfOranges84 now that clears it up. Thanks!
Don Robbie is loved throughout the world by Arsenal fans, he is a humble and down to earth man. Love from Canada 🇨🇦 Robbie ✊🏿👏🏿
How do you know hes loved throughout the world by Arsenal fans? Have you done a survey? What a dickhead comment. 😂
That neckless malteser is deluded 😂
No he is not, certainly not by those that attend matches
Really?
@@wrightyafcThat's because you are one of those who think only certain people can be Arsenal fans and it's "ar club, get out of ar club" as happened a few years with some fans who attacked Robbie.
Proud that Robbies dad taught him about Africa. I have met a lot of people from Jamaica and America who hate the association with Africa
It's unfortunate for you to have met those Jamaicans, to even say this. I can't speak on Americans, but if you are African, I trust you should know that Jamaicans have always been the loudest voices for Africa, especially when the entire continent of Africa had no voice! ... So just to be clear, people generally dislike the association with another nation ... so maybe you should be specific and state what the association was in the first place ...
So danm true
They hate the association with Africa based on valid reasons.😂
I saw the interview on Talk Sport. It was an ambush. I'm a United fan from the States' respect "Robbie and AFTV"
I live in cork, Ireland. Rarely get over to games over ticket limitations. But Robbie and all at aftv keep us international fans feeling involved and feeling like we are close to the each game. Respect man 💪🏽💪🏻💪🏿
Got a lot of time for Robbie. He opened the doors for us fans to get creative with our own content based on the beautiful game. These clubs have made billions out of us fans for all of these years, so why can’t fans earn a living off the clubs.
I met Robbie outside the Emirates in 2018 after following him on KZhead from Australia since around 2013, not quite from the start but very early on when it was just him on camera. He has come a long way and I am so happy for him and his family. Keep it up, you are a huge role model for me.
20 mins in and my respect for Robbie has increased a lot. Something about being raised by good, loving, strict parents that is such a blessing!
As a Newcastle fan, I've always liked Robbie. He's the reason why I enjoy watching AFTV. He calls a spade a spade in regarding Arsenal and love his stone face when interviewing fellow fans who are clearly talking dribble. Keep going Robbie!
Robbie is a REAL one. He tells it like it is from, especially a Black Caribbean in the UK perspective. I can identify, as a fellow Caribbean person myself. Love Bredda Robbie for that.🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🎤🎤🎤🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿✊🏿✊🏿✊🏿❤️💛💚
One of the issues raised for me is the way people complain there are not enough positive role models promoted in the MSM and when there is a wonderful shining example like Robbie the MSM are quick to try and tear them down. The Main Stream Media is slowly dying thanks to the bravery and hard work of people like Robbie.
As a United fan I have alot of respect for Robbie and the journey he set the standard and has created a space for others
My three favorite channels: The Calum Johnson Show, Stock Brotha, & How Money Works. Make my week complete! 🔥 🔥 🔥
I’m A American And Robbie Is The Man For Us Arsenal Fans Here ‼️
He’s ours and we love him. God bless you, Robbie.
I'm a Liverpool fan but I watch Robbie 's show from Kuwait, because it focuses on the issues of football and Premier league.
I remember hearing something when I was very young. ‘Nobody wants to see you do better than them’. If you’re doing well in an area others aren’t, they will be envious of it, and be wanting to see you fail. That includes some you believe to be friends and even family. Being aware of this is very very important.
Don Robbie is very inspirational. I respect his work ethic and successful channels, even though I'm a Spurs fan!
Fair play to you bro
Without Don there would be no Expression

Seems like a top bloke tbh, it's fun to hate on Arsenal as a Spurs fan, but always respected Robbie!
Thanks Steven Bartlett!
I thought it’s was just me lol All that being said It shows what an inspiration the man is. Mr. Robbie Lyle thank you for creating a platform for the lifestyle of an arsenal fan. A fan cam pioneer on an international scale. Bless @jcarlyle_
Yeah its giving steve Bartlett for sure😂😂
I thought the same thing even down to acting like steven bartlett proper rip off of diary of a ceo

Robbie is a big inspiration to every Blackman in the UK.
I do not know you Robbie, but I am so proud of you and what you have achieved through Arsenal Fan TV. My son shared this video with me and I am so pleased. You are an inspiration. God bless you.

Utd Fan here - Well done Robbie on what you have achieved, even with all your barriers you have had to jump over! Huge tons of respect to ya! :)
Remeber when I used to listen to Sovereign Sound In Luton and Robbie on the BBC. Could never imagine back then that he would go on to become the media genius that he is
I'm not a football follower, Robbie but my brother in law, Daniel Ossei-Nyinaku who coaches Dulwich Village youth teams for many years, is an avid listener of AFTv and the Callum Johnson show. I was riveted. You both are special and clearly protected by the Most High through such loving, generous parents. Thank you for such a frank and open conversation. We are here, in the UK, for a reason. When that time comes, we will see God work in a big way!
Dad was a plasterer. Done the same shift in the summer. Real graft! I see why Robbie has done well. Big up parents. Well done sir!
Robbie is a legend! I met him once and he was very down to earth. I really like the way you bring on different guests Calum. Keep it up!
Gooner here, love Robbie always loved AFTV, the hate is just jealousy. Big up for what he's built, I watch every watch along...
Watched the interview with Talksport...bad the comment section was disabled. What I would have given to read them comments. I've got to say, Robbie gained my respect there. He held his own against Simon and Tim and had them in the balls. Respect!
Robbie , a humble guy . Without Robbie alot of fans tv wouldn't be here now. All the best Robbie.
The charisma and personality of Robbie makes me love him and follow his AFTV platform even though I'm not a Gunner... Respect man don Robbie
Loved listening to Robbie’s resilience. Its proves that if you have the drive, determination & endeavors to succeed. Totally respect to you from a spurs brother 👊🏽
I am so proud of you Robbie you have started from the bottom to work your way to something special as an Arsenal fan big up to you and your family. You have made a fellow west Indian/Caribbean brother smile.
Having the famous Don Robbie on here is awesome. Also, when Don Robbie started AFTV, a top KZhead executive told him it wouldn't work. Don Robbie kept his dream flowing with his desire to make AFTV a success and later down the road, the KZhead executive contacted Don Robbie to apologise for getting it totally wrong.
Crucial Robbie, if you know you know. BBC 3 counties radio back in the day was a must listen to when Robbie's show was on. Aunts, uncles and cousins over, Crucial Robbie on the radio and a takeaway, good memories. Proud to be black was also a big tune back then. Me and my friend used to sing it on the way to school
True they don't know
I also remember Crucial Robbie having a mini sound clash on Radio 1 with Frank Bruno in the mid 90’s.
You can just tell Robbie is a nice guy, he’s also a fair and objective fan. He give respect to other teams
As someone who watched AFTV, it's been great to see it grow. There is some great content. They had to fight against many angles but look at them now. Bravo for keeping it up. It's opening the door for many other fan channels.
Much love Robbie from Sierra Leone..u gave us a platform were we fans can express ourselves.massive respect to you and your crew.
Yes Crucial Robbie, big respect and much success to you mate. I'm a huge united fan but your channel is one of the first KZhead channels I subscribed to full stop, Keep on keeping on.
Wonderful interview am new to this channel 🎉, no one should be jealous of don robbie he has been through it a true inspiration 🙌, blessings for sharing his story 🙏🏾
Didn't think I would watch the whole thing but I saw myself in every question and the wisdom was 100%. This was a good job. Shout out to the interviewer as well. He dug deeeeep and asked questions you would never ask and got the real juice
Well done, Robbie. Real trailblazer when it comes to fan channels. We respect the hassle and the appreciate the voice you gave to all Arsenal fans
This podcast was refreshing. It's beyond football. It touches all aspects of life. Learnt a lot
Great interview and love all the positive vibes from Robbie, nice seeing someone who has worked hard do well.
As a full-time employee wanting to start my freelance marketing consultancy business, I find it scary to quit my job and start a journey into the unknown, Robbie just inspired me to know when to bite that hard nut and call it quits. I got to pursue what I am passionate about.
you've remind me of what someone once said "The mind is the man, the poor is in it and the rich is it too". This sentence is the secret of most successful investors. I once attended similar and ever since then been waxing strong financially, and i most tell you the truth..investment is the key that can secure your family future.
I agree with you had a senior colleague at work who was doing well but never had an investment. Unfortunately he lost his job and went from living a comfortable life to hardship. There would had been something to fall back on if he had an investment
I urge everyone to start somewhere now no matter how small, this is literally the time for that, forget material things, don't get tempted,i became more better the moment i realized this.
yeah investment is the key to sustaining your financial longevity but venturing into any legitimate Investment without a proper guidance of an expert can lead to a great loss too
exactly! That's my major concern and what kind of profitable business or investment can someone do with the current rise in economic downturn
Robbie is such a humble man. He never onced mentioned this interview so the people can go pree it. Great interview my man. Proud to be a Gooner
Robbie was our best Dj in Milton Keynes
Fantastic interview and insight into a very inspirational man. Well done Robbie! your family will most definitely be very proud of you!.
From where Robbie is coming from !!!!! RESPECT 💯
Big up Robbie - keep doing what you’re doing. It’s funny how @talksport have slated @AFTV only to have fan cams outside the Emirates Stadium the night we played. Bayern Munich in the UCL
As an Arsenal fan, I has came to the Emirates last year, it was my first at the stadium. I am luck enough to meet Robbie and took a picture together. Amazing work, I have been enjoying a lot on watching AFTV. Big shoutout.❤
a wonderfully conducted interview, which gave Robbie Lyle all the time he needed to elaborate upon his trajectory -- quite inspiring, thank you
I've watched AFTV since 2013. Even during the worst of Arsenal's times I have been watching, and yes I did hate some of the regulars that appeared on AFTV but let me tell you this - Robbie has given so many fans a platform to speak. He was the pioneer in all that, and every fan channel that came after that was just following Robbie's footsteps. Love him or hate him, you gotta give him credit. Cheers Robbie, from Bangladesh.
Such a lovely guy man, he just radiates positivity and wisdom. Top guy Robbie.
Great interview. Respect to both of you Robbie and Calum. I feel inspired to go on and do my own thing now.
Such a great interview. Good for you Robbie lots of twists and turns. Here’s wishing you all the best for the future
This is the first podcast where I've had the chance to listen to Robby's entrepreneurial journey and life along the way. It was definitely worth it, especially as a AFTV fan who was defending the channel's content before it became what it is. Thanks for the lesson Robby and Calum.
Aye Robbie, respect for doing what you have done and how well you are bro, you have given most fans a voice
The Simon Jordan quote about making money off of toxicity... He talking about TalkSport? Or Sky Sports News? Or Sky News in general? OR ANY NEWS OUTLET IN GENERAL.... Is he obvlious to the world...😅 Adds no value to broadcasting, he's just a Robin, never a Batman! 😂 People hate because people aren't supposed to break through without permission. Getting attacked by other gooners is just because the club was in turmoil n they're taking their anger out on AFTV because it's easy. Big up yourself Robbie. You're a proper entrepreneur n a proper gooner. You'll always be guilty of inflicting Ty on the world though 😂 Let's do the business this season!!! #COYG #ATID 🔴⚪️

Amazing interview keep it pushing 💫💫
I really like the guy,and what he went through to get the success. Down to earth, respectful and he deserves the success. Really enjoyed the interview.
Give the man his flowers. People hate on this guy but he’s created an entire market for fan led media. These personalities you see now on KZhead, he opened the doors for all of them to earn a living by covering the clubs they love. The ironic thing is that KZhead is now a massive platform for the mainstream media and the lines have been blurred with so many ex players and pundits creating content with these guys!

I used to watch aftv to laugh at Arsenal but even now I still watch them coz they have really strong content. Respect
