  • To all those Arsenal fans who i met in and around Emirates stadium on game day , who were so generous to me for the show that James & I put out each week on AFTV , i just wanted to repeat my gratitude and thanks . It meant and does mean a lot that people get what we try to do and enjoy it .. Many thanks . Graham - AFTV .

    • There's some imbecile fans on twitter who now think we should take on Rashford and Sancho and even Darwin Nunez because arteta is now a player career saviour. The havertz journey wasn't pleasant at certain points and we do not need a re-run.

    • @@okoyeeric7149 oh yeah I definitely wouldn’t take this type of risk again, especially on rashford or sancho, but this was clearly a calculated one. The right profile, the right age & attitude along with the fact he’s won the champions league, his versatility combined with his physical and technical qualities. It’s kind of obvious now he’s playing with confidence but for Arteta to foresee it is very impressive. although the whole midfield experiment hasn’t worked lol

  • Allow me to disagree on the contentious points: by the present law, it's a penalty (Kane got so many like this, with the trailing leg), but imo the law should be changed. Bournemouth disallowed goal? for me it's a foul: Solanke doesn't play or even look at the ball. There's too many, shirt grabbing, arms around a player, barging into a player when running or in the air without any attempts to play the ball. Contact sport? yes... WHEN competing for the ball ( and without using the arms) the rest is cheating and I wish it was penalised more. Thanks James and Graham for this and all other tactical insight: never miss them!

  • The thing about odegaard left mid needs context, one thing is that he moves there in counterattacks because he is basically defending on that side or more centrally and another thing is against low blocks on the left since he does not have enough right foot to be able to make filtered passes, shots on goal and crosses with advantage as he does on the right when he approaches the center of the field

  • Zibimendi is the player Arsenal must go all out to sign in the summer! Very similar to Partey but younger and fitter. Zubimendi is good in the tackle he intercepts brilliantly and when he wins the ball he only looks to play it forward asap! 51m for a player of Zibimendi’s class is a steal! Zubimendi cdm , Rice box to box and Odergard attacking mid would be the most complete midfield in the premier league! Partey needs to be moved on! Yes he’s good when he’s fit but you can’t plan a team around a player who’s constantly injured! Remember he’s on 220 grand a week basic before bonuses! Those wages are better being used to pay a player that actually plays week in week out! It’s not feasible to pay big wages to a player constantly injured!

If he starts striking his attempts with real conviction he can be our number one for sure. He isn't a striker anyway. Maybe the 8 in summer is the aim or is it a 6 with Rice as 8. We need a wide attacker to compete with Saka, and help him to carry the load on the right wing. We have to keep Partey, an inform and injury free Partey is unstoppable in the midfield, we were not going to lose at Porto if he was there. We need an additional midfielder like an Onana from Everton, to come in for when Partey is injured. Lastly, a right sided center back to deputize Saliba. • TACTICAL INSIGHT INTRODUCTION BY GRAHAM - AFTV In a post-match Tactical Insight Show , recorded straight after Arsenal had swept aside Bournemouth 3-0 at Emirates stadium to re-open the four point gap over Man City , before they closed it to 1 again thrashing Wolves , James & I analyse in particular the roles of Martin Odegaard , Declan Rice & Kai Havertz ; all instrumental in fashioning Arsenal's 26th win of their prenier league canpaign . On the Tactical pad , we break down : How Odegaard's new role building the play from deep to make him more press resistant is benefiting the team ; Our captain's heat map is analysed in detail . How Declan Rice's role in the 8 half space enables him off the ball to press high if a team looks .to play out or drop back infront of the back 4 if they go over our press ; But it was Rice's on the ball and attacking moments with a goal and assist that proved game defining and we break down those numbers . We look at what Kai Havertz brings to the team as a central striker and James recreates his movement from Odegaard's pass that led to the penalty We are very aware of the knowledgeable Tactical Insight Community that we have and if there is something that you saw in the game that we missed , please put it in the comments . James & I do delve into the comments section during the week We really appreciate your feedback and support for the show . We love analysing this team . Its a real privilege and a pleasure . • Partey should consider retiring from his NT duties and focus on helping his team (and payer) to clinch the title....we'd easily get 30+ games from him next season

  • Havertz was excellent, he now looks fluent and decisive. Lets see if heis big confidence player and he will dip badly again or fluctuate at higher level. If he starts striking his attempts with real conviction he can be our number one for sure. He isn't a striker anyway. Maybe the 8 in summer is the aim or is it a 6 with Rice as 8. Rodri doesn't just sit. I see Rice as our Rodri. We need another pacey attacker to threaten teams pressing us high and rotate the front players
