No one can be definitely sure of something or someone until we actually see it orthem in action in that particular circumstance. He's doing what any one of us would do aa it relates to any aspect of life. So the fact is, he is one of the few that does this so any viewer can be hopeful about the future of the club and not be negative all the time.

    @weetak@weetak12 күн бұрын
    • 100% I hate inverted wingers, it hinders creating chances for the striker. Stops and slows play too much. It just seems to be about allowing the wide players to cut inside and shoot very speculative shots from miles out like Rashford does. Much better to actually have the wingers on the right side so they can get the ball in the danger zone.

      @SuperNictastic@SuperNictastic12 күн бұрын
    • Unless you're the quality of Arjen Robben, you should not play on your off-wing. I agree, it's been super frustrating to watch and kills the momentum of a lot of attacks because Rashford and Antony can't/won't cross the ball to Hojlund, and would rather dribble inside and crowd the center of the pitch.

    • "Don't hate the players, hate the game"... It's called evolution mate, plain and simple. 'Attackers' often rotate, especially if they're part of a front 3, or a trio that sits behind the striker. Another reason players on the flank aren't tasked with deliveries exclusively is the fact we now have fullbacks that overlap, and the overlap isn't an extra facet of their game, it is their game, it's expected. If you have a winger who can spank the ball into the far corner from distance, don't be critical! How often do we now see goal scoring wingers transition into prolific out and out forwards. Messi, C.Ronaldo, R.V.P, Henry, Del Piero from times gone by. Memphis Depay, even Vinicious Jr being prime examples of recent times. And finally, we even see wingers who initially play on the flank and are tasked with deliveries, C.Ronaldo, BALE! Then it becomes apparent that they're actually better on the opposite side because they've got a dangerous shot on them. Once again, don't hate the players

  • I just don't understand the criticism towards Ten Hag. Too many players, past and present, have stole a living. In plain English... they should never have had the opportunity to play for a great club united. But eventually, realty hits... and the truth hurts, that being acknowledging one's limited talents. Their are numerous players that know now... they have no long-term future at United... that feeling alone is soul crushing... and whilst believing they are trying 100%, its like attempting to play a game with an injury thats been masked by an injection and not knowing about the injury or injection, yet giving 100%. He's a great manager... they aren't easy to come by. He has a structure now... give them time to clear the majority of this squad so he can work without one hand tied behind his back.

But the main problem that EtH has faced (and any other manager would have faced) is the fact that the players we have DO NOT fit the style of play that EtH wanted to play. So the main task for Wilcox & Ashworth is to get the right players, once we have the right players in the squad that fits the style of play that we want, then and only then can you assess whether EtH is the right manager to take us forward.

Coupled with some pragmatism, for example when you are 3-0 up, don't down tools but play with some caution to ensure the result. We need a recruitment system that gets players who are hungry, technically sound, can do what they are told and represent the clubs traditional values. Mostly these should be younger, developing talent, who are robust and injury resistant, with a sprinkling of more experienced players to guide the younger ones along. To start on this process we have to get rid of the dross, which in all honesty is probably 50% of the first team squad.

  • Never mind Ten Hag's suitability, what about Jason Wilcox' credentials?After retiring from football he was a local radio football pundit until he landed a job in 2012 as a coach (then head coach, then Academy director) at Man City's Academy until he left and spent last year as Technical Director at Southampton. So let's look at that... We all know that being a pundit means nothing. To my knowledge hr has no experience in coaching or managing a first team anywhere. He's only spent a year at Southampton, and I couldn't assess his time there until someone explains to me what a Technical Director is, what they do, and what impact they have on a team's success. Southampton are currently in a playoff position in the Championship. So really we need to look at is decade or so involvement with Man City's academy to properly assess his merit. In that time he won one title and lost two cup finals. So far as I am aware, the Academy has during that time produced no regular first team players for Man City. I am unsure what qualifies his to be sitting in judgement over Ten Hag, Eredivisie winner three times, ELF Cup winner at Utd and FA Cup finalists (at least, at this point) twice. It seems to me as though we're just repeating the same old song, hoping we luck into success at some point.

We should desist from spending heavily on players right now and look towards free transfer and bossman deals till we can balance books. we have players who are on heavy payment but contribute little or nothing to the club in terms of performance. wage structure should be looked into this summer and reduced it drastically better wages should be on a performance level, and not the significant 150% and long-term we have been doing for over a decade now. • Actually, this is what I want to see.. To have a little bit of critical appraisal of the manager. And how he(the manager) think would improve the situation. For example, if now we have had a two separated blocks when it comes to pressing, maybe the solution is to find a fast center back. If he(the manager) thinks he needs another fullback or a striker is up to him how the solution is. Then, Wilcox as technical director will try to tell him (ETH), how he thinks, to solve the problem. But, in the end they need together as a co worker rather than a boss with sub-ordinate relationship. Wilcox, never had the experience of sacking a manager just because he thinks the solution is different. He never had the chance to sack pep guardiola. But now he has the chance.

  • I agree with a lot of what you have said but I totally disagree with your comment about Ten Hag's position being untenable IF he has fallen out with some of the players in the squad. Who runs the team - the manager or the players? Did Fergie ever fall out with players? Of course he did, it was up to the players to fall in line with the managers ideals and style of play, not up to the players to pick and choose what they do, when they do it and how they play. Remember Manchester United have employed some of the best managers in the world in an attempt to get back to the top and the majority of this squad have, for whatever reason downed tools for all of them - Van Gaal, Mourinho, Rangnick etc. So who is to blame, the managers or the players? The easy option is to sack the manager which is what we have done. We need to start turning that around as over the last 11 years it has been proved that it doesn't work. Now is the time to act on Ralph Rangnick's parting words - this squad needs open heart surgery. Let us start by weeding out those players who are putting in sub standard performances week in, week out. Rashford, Martial, Anthony, Casemiro, Varane, Maguire, Wan Bissaka, Lindelof to name just a few. Now here is a shocker I would also get rid of Bruno too, his petulant behaviour and constant whinging doesn't set a good example to the rest of the team. He gives the ball away far too often and is often wasteful in possession. We need a squad that plays for each other and not their own glory and egos. Phew, glad I got that off my chest.

  • Its just a shamble. If your team of MU plays with such games of pushing back after a break through and instead of counterattacks, passing back to defenders. No crosses or strikes when in the penalty box, instead toying around with passes that are dreadful. Time to see a new build team. Currently we see an overall and complete shamble. Manager without a proper tactics to hold games when winning. Losing to lower tier clubs and worst get battered by top tier clubs. We need a complete change simple.

  • If we look at Ten Hags signings, would they all be signed by Ajax to fit their style? Martinez, Onana and Antony are from Ajax, Martinez is the only one proving he is worthy. Onana needs a full season of good performances now that he has single handedly cost us the UCL. Antony just hasnt got going. However, Casemiro, Eriksen, Malacia, Hojlund, Amrabat n Mount are all players who tick few boxes as in some are good in possession while poor out of possession. Some have legs and can press whilst not having the physicality to win tough duels. The biggest issue is the injury record of those he signed and also the incompaitability of the style he wants to implement. ETH tenure started well, 1st season he got the best out of players he didnt sign and played a style befitting the strengths but when the tide turned this season, and expectancy was high for performances to be more dominant, he has choked.

  • The board and the fans all want to have the cake and eat it too. There is no way a team can be reshaped with a drastic change in playing style and still challenge for the titles athe the same time. It's not possible. And yet it is demanded. If there had been a proper clearout when Ten Hag came in and a smart rebuild started, maybe it would've been different now. We must not expect any results for a couple of years - just let all the deadwood to be sold and gradually include new and youth players into the system. I'd rather have us finish 10th in the league once or twice with no scrappy/lucky cup runs but see that the team is actually shaping into something positive. Ten Hag was brought to implement his style and his philosophy. Instead he's choosing to be pragmatic and scrape some results while sacrificing any progress, because nobody has the patience. The pressure has got to him. Sell/release all the deadwood, give him another year if he has a clear vision of what he wants to do with the team. If not, clear all the deadwood anyway and bring in someone else to the grinder.

Problem is, players don’t do that for 90min, and they panic every time they face adversity. I feel like people refuse to see that this is Utd style of play when they are mentally here. It’s biased by the poor results. Problem is, they’re not being able to do it an entire game
