Following immediately after the events of THE RAID, Rama (Iko Uwais) is forced to reinvent himself as an undercover cop in order to provide protection for his wife and child. Working for the anti-corruption taskforce led by the one person he can trust, Bunawar, he is given a mission to engage himself as an enforcer for a local mob boss, Bangun. Finding a way in through Bangun's son Uco, Rama must hunt for information linking Bangun with police force corruption. All the while, he harbors a dangerous and personal vendetta for revenge and justice that threatens to consume him - and bring both this mission and the organized crime syndicates crashing down.

Rama has archieved what every criminal in Gotham has only ever dreamed of, he beat the Bat man

Er
I heard the only reason the Raid 3 isn't going to happen is because the Director legit thinks he can't do any better than he did here. He peaked and chose to leave the stage on a high note, and I respect the hell out of that. Too many artists fail to recognize when it's time to bow out with grace and be remembered as a legend.
He went on to do a film called Apostle, very good and well worth a watch. Also season 1 of Gangs of London.
Like John Wick 4 lmao
Ehem, transformers

I love how this is like a boss fight. When you fight two boss enemies that clearly have a bond, the moment you kill the other one, the other enters Rage Mode and becomes more aggressive.
ace combat 7, rage and scream dogfight
DMC 3 when you didn't kill Agni and Rudra at the same time
More aggressive usually means less concentrated which ends in one own's defeat.
Ornstein and smough in movies
The whole movie is like a game!
dude you can seriously feel the pain from the bat guy after hammer girl gets killed. that actor really sent it through his voice, this feels like an ornstein and smough moment or something. so wild its only a 2 minute scene. so much gets told in so little time. this movie is outstanding
It's because she his sister.
I exactly thought the same about those guys and those boss in dark soul lol. After the first one is defeated, the second goes berserk and unleash is true power.
It's so easy for Indonesians to get to that state. Running amok is our go-to state when things got desperate. Fun fact: the word "Amok" comes from Malay and Indonesia, it's used to describe a state of mindless and uncontrollable rage, something that used to be so normal amongst the people of Malay race (like Indonesians, Malaysians, Bruneians, even Filipino), in that state, everything goes blank and the people in that state would grow freakishly strong and uncontrolled, similar to 'berserk'.
@@arthurmorgan2887 I never knew this, thank you.

Let's Be Real, All cast members from The Raid could easily make the best Mortal Kombat Live-action.
Sadly they weren't able to properly shine in the movie itself. A 8-10episode series would suit mortal kombat a lot more than a movie. Too much to cram in making the movies too rushed or feeling empty. Well this is nothing new too... as anything as a series is miles apart from the movie.... Hell look at JL-Snyder's Cut. a 4episode epic.

Agreed. The stunts and martial arts in this film are second to none. I don't know how they shot around this hallway, but they made it seem closed quarters.

I really admire this guy man..wat control composure and experience he has..amazing artist
You gotta admire Rama's skill for taking these two out without a weapon
That's probably what made it easier for him. They can't catch any of his blows, but he can catch all of theirs.
Technically if you think about it he killed both of them with a weapon 🤗……it was their weapons but still a weapon
That's why disarming is such a useful fighting tactic
Well basically. Just dont bring a weapon (the sharp ones expecially) to fight Rama if you dont want to taste a painful defeat from your own weapon

I absolutely love the little detail thrown in where Baseball Bat Man's nuanced fighting style is completely abandoned when his sister is killed, instead going into a frenzy with fast and deadly, but predictable, moves. Usually in Martial Arts films, when someone goes into a blind rage, they increase their skill-level, whereas here, he lets his emotions kick-in too much, which I could imagine being the more likely outcome. On that note, I recall the theater giving an uneasy chuckle when Rama lets go of the bat and it's still on the guy's face. What a seriously dark joke Gareth Evans put in there.
mouth full of baseball bat
They achieved the feel of an actual 2 on 1 fight. A lot of times when they fight someone you see the other person kinda standing around or just moving and not attacking. But this they are both moving as long as they physically can. Makes it more realistic
And Rama himself knowing this moves with hyper-efficiency, keeping himself on top by making quick disabling moves as much as he can do he can move on to the next guy. Baseball bat man in particular keeps getting knocked down, whereas Hammer Girl who relies more on dexterity and skill proves trickier each time. Really no action like Raid ultimately, honestly not even John Wick's action comes close (and I am a huge JW fan)
the only reason is because they're super in sync with each other, most low-level thugs would probably just end up hurting their friends. The "standing around" is looking for an opening that you can not only hurt your opponent in, but also make sure you're not getting in the way of your comrades, ESPECIALLY your higher-ranked comrades you even see how dangerous it is for a group to go "all out" against a dangerous singular opponent due to Hammer Girl almost smashing Baseball Bat Man's face with Rama merely inverting his position.

The transition after the bat to the face. Very good. Love the fact he killed the bad guys with their own weapons too. Kinda wish they played up that bat being swung here as a bit of a disadvantage. Tight corridor, gotta imagine getting a good swing off in there is difficult. But still near perfect fight scene. Lotta fun to watch.
The corridor isn't that tight. Lots of room. Plus it's not like he does a full sprawl to take a swing but kept it in when near a wall. Plus this is a master assassin, doubt walls would disadvantage him much.
Umm for the record, they weren't exactly bad guys, just assasins doing their job, in raid 2 (not 1) they didn't exactly showed someone as bad just opponent and pretty good one at that.

The brutality with which Rama end the opponent.... Simply scared the shit out of me.. His calm face and brutality he endured on his opponent simply the most exciting contrast...
I love that this scene kinda shows how to beat these two without telling you. The siblings(?) lose all their cool if the other one is in peril. Once Hammer Girl went down the fight was all but over. Rama redirects all that blind rage against Bat.
They are siblings. They were raised by an abusive father, he’s the reason her eye was deformed.
Take down Hammer Girl first, the strategy wiki would say. As you can tell, Baseball bat man is stronger and tankier but relies more on power and force and has much more predictable telegraphed moves which you can parry and counter to disable him for a few seconds. Whereas Hammer Girl is weaker but much trickier, more dexterous, and with a large variety of moves and grip changes. Warning: once you take down HG, BBM goes into Berserk mode and becomes much stronger and faster, make sure you are able to avoid his moves and take him down quick after that.
Gotta love how the bat is stuck in the dude's mouth at the end. A really nice detail that just sells how hard Rama was hitting.
