Deep in the heart of Jakarta's slums lies an impenetrable safe house for the world's most dangerous killers and gangsters. Until now, the rundown apartment block has been considered untouchable. Cloaked under the cover of pre-dawn darkness and silence, an elite swat team is tasked with raiding the safe house in order to take down the notorious drug lord that runs it. But when a chance encounter with a spotter blows their cover and news of their assault reaches the drug lord, they find themselves stranded on the 6th floor with no way out. The unit must fight their way through the city's worst to survive their mission.

  • The best part of this scene is Rama absolutely NOT wanting to fight a bunch of guys with machetes while unarmed and trying to run away first, it really humanizes him. He's a guy doing action hero stuff, not an action hero.

  • The protagonist is not just doing "i'm the main character here" thing,who can just easily wipe them out for the plot, instead he brought the state of vulnerability and fear to build the intensity of thrill and fighting tense. Iko Uwais just the best actor for this movie. Well done.

    • I like that before this fight starts, the main character doesn't feel badass or confident. You can see it in his eyes, the fear at what he's up against. He's got some ideas on how he can survive (love that move where he kicks the first guy's machete away after the disarm!) but there's a point in the fight where it becomes clear he's run out of ideas and now he's just trying to stay alive for the next half-second. I also liked that he did end up taking a hit or two, and even one from the machete that would have ended him if he wasn't wearing a stab vest. You really get the feeling that he barely survived this fight.

      @themocaw@themocaw2 жыл бұрын

  • This whole movie feels like a video game and has a bunch of stuff happening in it that would work really well if it did get an adaption. Having to avoid the windows or be met with a rain of bullets, enemies spawning from all the rooms, characters like the Machete Men, and Maddog serving as bosses. The 2nd movie having even more neat bosses like bat man, hammer girl, and the assassin. Prakoso coulda been like DLC content where we see his perspective and his fights. Idk, I just love these movies, wish they had some games like it
