Outro- The Fix by Aldous Young
The Chargers had some pretty solid runningback drafts during the early 2000s: 2001 1st round: LaDainian Tomlinson (Hall of Famer, arguably best RB of last 25 years) 2004 5th round: Michael Turner (developed into best backup in NFL, and later the all-time leading rusher amongst 5th rounders) 2005 4th round: Darren Sproles (one of best gadget players in recent memory, arguably best 4th round RB ever) To be fair, most of Sproles and Turner's production came after they left the Chargers. But I still thought it was interesting.
Falcons legend Michael Turner
And before that, we had Natrone Means, the first ever 2 point converter in superbowl history.
As an Eagles fan, I am so grateful for Sproles.
So tell me how I never knew priest was undrafted free agency signing. That's insane dude was a beast
I can’t believe Sproles was drafted that long ago
I think Matt Forte should’ve gotten a shout out for the second round guys, 9800 career rushing yards to pair with 4500 receiving yards, super underrated
Bear down
He’s the most criminally underrated rb of his era. With AP, McCoy, Beastmode, and Gore, he was definitely overlooked.
Forte was also a precursor to the modern receiving back
Can’t forget about Brian Westbrook either he’s probably the most underrated back of his generation, dude had 6,300 rushing yards with 41 tds while also having 3,900 receiving yards with 30 tds, super underrated and another precursor to the modern backs we have today
Bro didn’t even mention dalvin cook or joe mixon but mentioned James Conner and Alvin kamara lol & 2017 greatest rb draft class of all time in my opu
KTO needs to upload more
Quality > Quantity
Nah his upload schedule is great imo. And also as the guy above me said quality > quantity. Plus he uploads around every 2 weeks. It's not like he's out for multiple months.
Quality over quantity. This aint a content mill.
@@MarchOnRome but what if we can get both?
Yea i kinda compare it to JxmmyHighroller the quality of videos is top tier
should’ve atleast mentioned jamaal charles, he had 7500+ yards and was drafted in the 3rd. My personal fav player to watch
Herschel had 8K just from rushing, and drafted in 5th, but completely ignored. He simply whiffed on Herschel.
I was surprised no Priest Holmes, Larry Johnson or Jamal Lewis also. OK i stand corrected on Priest Holmes.
Agreed!
@@Bill_Woothat’s true maybe he skipped him because if he would of went to the nfl in his actual draft class he would of been a top10 pick and his career might of been way better cause in 3 years in the usfl before he came to the nfl he only had 800 fewer Carries then he did in his 11 year nfl career
UFA Arian Foster: just under 9,000 total yards with 68 TDs. 4x pro bowler, 2x league TD champ, 1x league rushing champ. He was one of the main reasons the Texans had those great seasons in the early 2010’s
Scrolled til I found this.
Sucks he had to retire young from so many concussions
I really liked Foster but Priest Holmes takes that cake
Ahmad Bradshaw is worth a shout out for the 7th round. Won 2 Superbowls, just 72 yards shy of 5k. Another 1500 yards in the air. 48 total TDs and 9 seasons played.
Here's hoping chubb can recover from that knee injury and maintain his form
FR! Dude was (hopefully still is) a monster, especially for me one season on my fantasy.
Just sucks he already has a similar type injury in college almost identical , hopefully he’s not like RG3 who had similar situation one bad injury in college and the nfl and was never the same
Prolly not
Started this video and thought to myself “Damn, Priest Holmes is gonna get the outro music.” I was not disappointed. Dude was a monster. His 2002 season and LTs 2006 season are the best single season running back performances I’ve ever seen.
There was another guy after Holms who help me win fantasy. Larry Johnson or something.
I can’t really remember LT’s 06 seasons but I remember CJ2k AP2k and Derick’s2k
He was special.
We Had Priest 3.5 ridiculous years, Then Shawn Alexander, and Then LT.. manwhat a great RB decade.
16:16 Impressive how 6.9% of 23rd round running backs hit 5k yards. Quite some gems there.
They drafting running backs in a round that never existed.
Frank The Tank Gore gotta be an honorable mention for longevity. I know he doesn’t have the accolades that Emmit has but 16k yards in 16 seasons is mighty impressive.
Dear Kto i'm a italian woman and before discovering your chanell iknew nothing about football. Now is one of my favorite sports (also) thanks to you :) Keep it up the good work.
Hope you enjoy the storied history and game of American football!
@@HenryDaNinth I do , Kto and flemlo are great storytellers :)
@@dianatralli4099 volevo consigliarti qualcuno ma sai già quasi tutto. Ti segnalo comunque Brett Kollmann, analisi video avanzate e super esperto di draft.
Can I get an honorable mention for Fred Jackson as a UFA? Dude took the starting job from Marshawn Lynch and even fended off CJ Spiller
Everyone in Buffalo was so upset when the Bills let him go
Why is everyone forgetting Arian Foster
@@AstroLonghorn ok we need a dedicated UFA episode now
You were close on Terrell Davis. Stating that he was admitted to the Hall of Fame just because he helped the Broncos win two championships is understating his impact a little bit. TD became a Hall of Fame RB because he was the most dominant playoff RB in NFL history. His total playoff yards and playoff touchdowns are up there with other hall of fame RBs that played many more playoff games than TD did. And TD's average rushing yards and touchdowns per playoff game are records that may never be broken.
You nailed this on the head, arguably the best playoff running back ever
@@happysquid333 and the only "bad" game he had in his playoff run was against my Steelers where he scored two tds and had 78 yards
Idk I’m a big broncos fan and TD was one of my favorites but still don’t think he was HOF worthy , but someone like Antonio Gates didn’t get in his first year eligible
@@drunkenmmamaster419 Terrell Davis earned it. The SB performance against GB got him his slot imo
I just want to take a moment to shout out another UDFA RB that was really good despite his short career. Ryan Grant. Undrafted out of ND, he was initially signed by the Giants but then the Packers picked him up in 2007, he basically muscled his way to the starting job that year finishing just under 1k yards, and would get back to back 1.2k yard seasons before an injury would derail his career in 2010 onwards. He would attempt a comeback late in 2012 filling in for a bunch of injured Packer RB's vs the Titans in a legendary 55-7 blowout win.
An easier choice would’ve been Arian Foster but yea I remember ole Ryan Grant
@@AstroLonghorn I'm a cheesehead at heart XD
Arian foster was just built different I swear I only watched the Texans for Andre Johnson but when foster came I watched them more
It gets more insane each year how Derrick Henry fell to the 2nd round.
A lot of teams were worried about his weight and injury issues therein. In the 80s or 90s, Henry would have been seen as a Mike Alstott, Moose Johnston or Craig Heyward. The goal line power back to pair with a speedy running back. Titans gave him a shot, and it paid off.
He had hella mileage on him Bama ran the dude like 35 times a game his Heisman year , and you never know with Bama running backs because they play behind such a stacked offensive line
Even more insane was how long Tennessee took to realize what they had on the bench
@@thomaspattison1397 It wasn't a bad idea to let him serve as a relief and cleanup back his first two years. Less mileage and more time to grow.
Shoutout Chris Carson for someone who could’ve and should’ve reached 5,000 yards as a 7th round pick
He was solid. It's just unfortunate that both he and Thomas Rawls had injuries that cut their careers short..especially Rawls. That kid was really special up to his injury.
Never mentioned Marshall Faulk. He was the blue print for a modern back.
I was searching comments for this! Agreed! Marshall was the best all around back of all time!
Wtf he didn't? I barely started the video but hiw tf can Faulk be left out
Where would you put him? He's not on the same level as Barry or Payton for the all-time best. KTO's personal experience starts around 2003, which was late into his career when injuries were slowing him down.
Roger Criag was the prototype. Marshall carried the torch
@@ryanchase9332 Faulk not only can play slot, he can block, run routes and teams feared him the most out of all the Rams players during the Rams "Greatest show on turf" era I watched his whole career he was that dude Gotta put respect on his name
Dude! What I love the most of your videos is that surprise at the endings, there is always THAT guy who is absolutely remarkable. EXCELLENT.
If Terrell Davis never got hurt he would be a top 5 back of all time
Easily
Thank you so much from the Broncos fan for mentioning Philip Lindsay. He was such a good running back that we were all excited to see grow as a player. Back to back 1000 yd seasons to start his career, the first undrafted rookie to ever make the pro bowl. But another change at head coach meant that he didn’t fit the system, and he was let go just like that. Pissed me off
The fact that frank gore didn’t make the longevity list is criminal asl 💯🤦🏽♂️
I'm old enough to have seen em all and Barry Sanders is The Man. Ran for over 2,000 yards in 11 games at Oklahoma State
Alfred Morris was a dawg in Washington. Loved watching him with RGIII. Absolute steal in the 6th round.
Dude even balled out when he went to Dallas too
@@drunkenmmamaster419 Especially when he played us😅
3rd round honorable mention Jamaal Charles the only player that kept the Chiefs relevant in the early 2010s, but injuries wrecked his career still one of the best backs to dawn the red and gold.
Phillip Lindsay is my favorite undrafted runningback. He had over 600 carries without a fumble, and back to back 1000 yd seasons before injuries ruined his career. He even got Terrell Davis to un-retire number 30.
Yeah Lindsey was fun to watch.
Your obvious love and respect for RBs is very obvious in this one. Combine that with the fact that your research and analysis is getting better and more thorough than ever, this is probably one of your best clip so far...
But he whiffed on Herschel...
@@Bill_Woo He's got a full clip on Walker...
Those old Falcons uniforms and logos are easily my favorite of all time 17:10
Excellent research! Tons of kudos to you and greetings from the NFL-city of Frankfurt, GER. 😍
Yeh, Barry legit ran for almost 1500 yards and then retired lol, the 🐐
As a Broncos fan, I still wonder to this day what happened to Phillip Lindsay. Considering he did so well for two years, I expected him to carry the Broncos.
Can't argue with the best undrafted FA RB Priest was a monster
R.I.P to legendary Jim Brown
Amen Jim Brown is the GOAT then Payton and Sanders. When Jim played it was like watching a grown man playing against a bunch of kids lol
Please make this a series where you look at various positions like this!
I recently found this channel and I'm amazed by all the indepth research that's been done in these videos and it makes them very entertaining because of that. Keep up the good work, friend.
Michael "Burner" Turner back on NFL2K Priest Holmes is underrated my little bro loved using him on PS2😂
Holmes and Garner were amazing to play as because they can break tackles and juke plus catch like a wide out
Kto dropping banger as I go on break
Thank you for all yer hard work.
ATL FAN HERE and I love Mike turner 4 yrs of consistency I believe had he started his whole career he would be higher on this list
Great video. Love how you broke it down per Era and not just simply blurting out a name per round.
Luckily Ive gotten to watch some great running back play in my 23 years on this earth so far. Wisconsin and Oregon State have pumped out some of the best running backs in the history of College Football. Melvin Gordan, Montee Ball, James White, Jermar Jefferson, The Rodgers brothers (Though one was a wide receiver), Steven Jackson, Jonathan Taylor, Braelon Allen, Damian Martinez, Ron Dayne, etc. just to name a few lol. Then in the NFL getting to watch The Seahawks with Marshawn Lynch and Shaun Alexander.
Great video , I really enjoyed it.. wish you could have given a few more shout out for some of the former greats for each of the later rounds . But it was still a great video
Love your video, KTO, and keep up the great work you are awesome
Awesome video. This would be a cool concept for WR or even DE.
Willie Parker was undrafted and went over 5000 yards. Made the Pro Bowl twice, and has the longest rushing TD in a Super Bowl.
I love your videos. They're so well made every time. In a world where most sports media is garbage, you and Flemlo continue to kill it
This vid concept is awesome and so well done
Great video, can you do a similar one on WRs and TEs as well next? Thanks!
video editing has really stepped up, amazing quality tbh
When the sleeper hits at the end and the music plays, gotta love the editing
This was a excellent video. You should do it for every position
Pretty good analysis!
How can you forget Brian Mitchell for the 5th round? Dude is 2nd in all time yards behind rice. You added sproules for his returns.
And he whiffed on Herschel...also all purpose, but he got nearly 10K rushing alone. Even with a shortened career! And he had piles of receiving yards and TD, and plenty of returns.
The best two I've seen were Chris Johnson and Adrian Peterson. Third would have to be Framk Gore, who deserves to bebon the HOF one day.
Great research on the stat's. Have to agree that Forte should have been a shout out but great job....
I love this type of series def need it with every position
Your photo selection on this video is absolutely impeccable.
Honestly I like Arian Foster and LeGarrette Blount vs Priest Holmes. I just felt like they were more dynamic in their heyday
This is the greatest RB rating vid ever. Awesome breakdown.
Love your videos
Have you thought about covering other sports or maybe just even one extra? I think it could surge your channel ahead for sure, basketball history is pretty rad
Great video
What about Chris Carson man? Love the video as always but give him a little love too.
Great video.
I love this! I’m a stat nerd, and running backs have been historically my favorite position
1 video per week hey I am glad it’s this load schedule vs 1 every 2 months. Stay awesome and amazing KTO
This was great!
These projects take a while but they are amazing when they come out
Wow, no mention of Marshall Faulk? And you give credit to LT for being a massive influence on how RBs are used in the modern passing game instead? No hate, just a big omission, especially given that caveat.
I remember when I first came across came KTO channel in 2017 good times😌
JT being called just “solid” made my eye twitch
why ? 😭😭
Good video
Was waiting for that sweet Priest Holmes appearance. Arian Foster also came up for the undrafted players, but Priest probably did more overall.
Good way to kick off the weekend…with a KTO video.
Adrian Peterson also Beat the Fear of Him into His Children with a Stick. OJ Simpson was the Best “Slash and Run” Ex-Husband ever.
Instantly clicked on it’s a good day when KTO uploads
Marshawn better make the HOF! His impact on winning and over 10k rushing yards alone while missing several years due to retirement should get him in.
Alfred Morris should have gotten a shoutout for the 6th round, dude had 3 straight 1000 yard seasons from his rookie year.
Maybe it is just me being a Seahawks homer but this video made me think of Chris Carson as being one of the more successful 7th round RBs in recent memory. Had 2 1,000+ yard seasons and was on pace for a third before the injuries started to sunset his career. Give him 2 more healthy seasons and he'd have joined that limited list of 5k 7th rounders
Do you enjoy making videos? Because I truly love watching the stuff you make so I hope you're enjoying making it too
Banger brother......
Top notch, KTO! Certified banger
Matt Forte from second roundshould be mentioned. 9796 rushing yards in 10 season including 4600 receiving yards. He would have been so good on a team that could build an offense. As a bears fan i miss watching a guy like forte.
Pretty cool that Thomas and Barry shared a backfield at OSU too
I didn't realize Priest Holmes was undrafted ... that's crazy!
Before I even finish watching: 1) Love your vids; 2) Sweetness and Jim Brown are the two greatest backs in NFL history, regardless of draft position
Ay bro. Can you make an in depth analysis of how the Seahawks changed completely since 2013
2:52 About Marshawn Lynch… i don’t know if he’s first ballot… might depend on his class. But should absolutely make the hall of fame someday. 10K career rushing yards, 2 of the greatest plays in NFL history, nearly a decade of dominance AND a Super Bowl victory
KTOOOOOOO!! Always coming in when needed most. Much appreciated.
The sons of legends would be a good video. I remember meeting my idol Walter Payton's son Jarrett as a kid. Always wondered why his career never panned out
that outro song slaps every time
Hmmm u cant talk about modern NFL RBs in my opinion without talking about Marshall Faulk. He was the real first duel threat RB who could beat you in the passing game as much as the running game that i remember. I put him above Ladainian Tomlinson just because he did it first.
As a Texas fan, I couldn't agree more with the top UFA RB! Priest needed more touches at UT, but it's hard to sit a Ricky Williams.
Love your knowledge. Love your content. Top channel. Top quality. That said, you NEED to go study O.J. Apparently you don't realize what he was. Me, I put him only behind JB. But you made a serious error. HERSCHEL. You didn't even MENTION him. And despite his delay entering the NFL, he did Hall of Fame stats, and I would argue was the toughest runner to tackle of all time. What the ---- ??!!
Just to be clear: 5th round. Interesting story there. Look it up. 8K rushing, only counting the NFL. 13K including passes. AND returned. These are HOF numbers. 61 rushing TDs. 21 passing. That's just shy of HOF numbers, again, even despite a shortened career.
Priest homes was a lock for the Hall of Fame until injury cut him short, he is like Bo Jackson, the greatness that we could have seen taken away
please make this a series
Need to do a vid of the smallest and biggest players for each position like weight and height
Only player I would add to this would be Marshall Faulk. Feel like he influenced how guys are used today
Yo I had no clue Priest Holmes was undrafted that's wild that guy was a monster what makes it even crazier is the fact that the Chiefs had him and a hungry Larry Johnson just sitting there 😁 good stuff KTO
Derrick Henry being ~500 yards away from 10k going into his 9th season is fucking phenomenal
Do Wide Receivers next
