This overarm dust collector works better than any that I've seen. It's amazing. Thanks for sharing.
Brilliant!
Elegant. The versatility copes with cutting situations that most designs can not deal with…..Engineer at work.
Brilliant! Absolutely brilliant! I’ve been wanting to add over-the-blade DC to my table saw for some time now and have been watching a lot of videos about that. Yours is the best I’ve seen. Thanks for posting!

This is brilliant. You should definitely release a set of plans for this. I'd buy them in a heartbeat. I'lol definitely be coming back to this video when I'm ready to design my own!

Of course, excellent design and the finest craftsmanship!
Brilliant idea and excellent execution. I purchased an overarm guard years ago, but I was never satisfied and then eventually stopped using it. Your video has inspired me to revisit this common problem in my shop.
wow. so much learned and inspired from this video. first time i cross your channel. like the approach of „adapting“ plastics in your work. 👍🏼
Oh, yeah.. Thats a "must have" on every table saw.. I included this addition right away, when i built my homemade table saw. (video on my channel).. I also added a built in light. No more saw dust in my face. And it makes the saw much safer..in case of Kickback.. Well done, my friend. Subscribed and greets from Germany.
An elegant answer to your dust problem, great work and great video as well. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
beautiful, very inspiring achievement, thank you for sharing this
Fantastic build and well thought out without costing a small fortune
Cool. Good design.
Brilliant. Really enjoy watching you work.

Always very satisfying to see almost zero dust when using woodworking machines. Well done
It works really well. Just pay attention: when you set the acrylic box close to blade side, you must keep in mind that the long arm oscillates a little bit, doe to vibration eccetera. My dad severely injured in a quiete similar way. A loosen screw let the protection hit the blade that literally shot it like a bullet, hitting and breaking his jaw from side to side so he also lost a tooth because crack occurred right in the middle of its “saddle”.
OMG!! I hope he has recovered from his injury!. I once had a small strip of wood about 1/2" square get kicked back at me and it hit my lower abdomen area. It left a nasty looking red mark and bruise for months. If I hadn't been wearing a leather belt at the time, I'm sure it would have impaled me. I see so many woodworkers on here that remove the riving knife, and that's when accidents occur. The saw I was using at the time was my uncles and I was helping h cut out pieces of burl for the dark of an old Dusenburg car when that happened. It was a beautiful old Unisaw, but he had lost the riving knife at some point. After that happened, I made him a riving knife out of steel. I found the exact dimensions online for it. You have to be vigilant at all times when operating such powerful machines!!
@@crossgrainwoodproductsltd9230 Thanks for sharing your experience. I told myself I’ll never buy a table circular saw, because I must admit I’m pretty distracted or not so concentrated at least, so, once I’m retired, I’m going to buy a cnc laser and make something out plywood and veneers…pretty limiting, but way more safe.
Your designs are always on point and so we’ll executed
Hello my friend, your comments are always welcome. where do you live? Whenever I upload a video, you see it quickly.
@@carpentak I live in Australia on the Goldcoast
oh good I've been to Melbourne and Sydney before. Australia is a wonderful place.
Very good work
Absolutely amazing idea I wish I had this on my DWE7491 job site saw
What a great idea. 👍
You've KILLED OT AGAIN !!
Great idea👍👍👍
Өте керемет 👍 Маған ұнады. Сіздің түсірілімдерінізді өткізбей қараймын
Well done!
You are a truly gifted maker. I’d bet that you are an engineer. And also : what are those magnificent calipers/squares that you use!
thank you. It is a Matsui Japanese Kegaki Gauge / Scriber Gauge.
great project!!

Awesome work
Nice work!
Masterful!
Wow!! Great!
Very nice work and idea m8 👍🤙🤙
Well said James
Fun video I love your Wallace and geomett/ Shean of the sheep auditory
Bravo! tout est bien pensé
👏👏👏 Fantastic “ Next level is cutting inside a vacuum lol!!!
👍👍👍
good job👍
impressive!
i love this - but i also love the folding table extension - did you build that or buy it?
Top!
Well thought out design, beautifully made and best of all, it does what it's supposed to ... fantastic 👍
Very good work and super workmanship. I have something like this made from sewer pipes connected to a stand of wood something similar to yours
Thank you!
Encore une belle réalisation
I love the looks of your overarm dust collector. Do you have a video/plans that shows the construction of the overarm structure and the plastic box itself?
I'm not sure how I missed that I started viewing this video in the middle and didn't see the whole video. Do you have plans?
I can't make a plan. However, I share photos and information of the production process in my channel membership community. It is a paid membership that gives a small amount to the channel. Even a month is fine. Thank you for your interest.
Very interesting. Nice design. What type of dust collector do you have?
thank you My dust collector is a 1 horsepower normal dust collector.
Intelligent build, Safety - dust & blade guard in one. Have you though of adding brush strips to the sides like they have on CNC machines? Might make it a bit more airtight...
thank you. I don't think the brush you mentioned is necessary for mine. There are very few gaps between the wood and the guard. It is about 1mm or 2mm. That would be useful if you designed it to avoid adjusting the height of the head.
I wish he would buy a SawStop table saw so that I could mimic all the improvements he would come up with on my SawStop.
Cool idea and project but i would like to see a build video of the left side table saw extension for your mitre t track what ever you want to call it
kzhead.info/sun/oqakqLaBfWVtjJs/bejne.htmlsi=MSYXkfTpdye5SNG_ thanks
Wow
I really like and admire your work! I thought there was a longer, more detailed build video about construction of the boom arm, but I cannot seem to find it. Please advise. Thank-you! Happy holidays and stay safe!
My only video about this is this video. There are no other more detailed videos. Sorry and thank you.
@@carpentak Ok, thank-you for getting back to me in a timely manner. I must have been thinking of something else.
그래서 피노키오는 언제 만드실건가요?
Do you have link video to recomended how you make the side extended to your saw? I need it to extend my saw to rip panels. Thanks for your teaching lessons I'm a beginner in this. Grettings from Puerto Rico 🇵🇷.
yes that video is on my channel. please visit my channel thank you
Hi. I really like all of your videos. Very informative and creative. I’m wondering what kind of material you use for the fence on your table saw. Could use this for mine.
I used 10mm acrylic. I don't know if you've seen it, but I also have a video of making it on my channel. thank you
@@carpentak thanks 😊 watched it after I commented this one. There factory fence isn’t straight so this is a necessary upgrade!
Да это ваще супер!
Nice construction, although it could have been build more simple and more solid. The entire arm is too wobbly. This is caused by too many elements. But it's a good start for a working design.
I was about to make one myself cause my hikoki does not come with the one piece hood cover with dust port. But as far as I know DeWalt hood cover has dust port, so does this set up perform better because of the dust collection system you already have?
I've never used Dewalt's dust collection cover, so I don't know. It's an inconvenient system.
Friggin engineers 😛
Inspiring. You're turning a job site saw into a Harvey table saw. Ya know, you can buy a Harvey table saw with overhead dust collection and a pro-level miter gauge starting at $1749, and a fully configured 4HP saw with left & right extension wings, extension tables, and a tin coated top for $3899. But what fun would that be, right?
I have the 4hp Harvey Alpha TS. I'm watching this video because its dust collection is not great (on many levels). In fact--although I like the saw overall--it feels like there was zero "Use Case" analysis in its design. Several areas needed refinement and modification for smooth operation. Not trashing the saw, just saying it is by no means a well-sorted piece of equipment as released to market.
@@branchandfoundry560 Interesting. Thanks.
Where did you find a folding bracket that actually rests at 90°? I've bought every bracket I could find... $10 to $179 and all of them are 87° or less when opened and locked.
Mine is also not correct. Adjustments must be made during installation
....pero si la mayor parte del serrin es volado por debajo.
What device did you use to start the vacuum cleaner and dewalt saw? your video is awesome 🎉
I installed a 1hp dust collector on my dewalt. With it, dust is sucked in two lines from the bottom and top. Thank you
How to start 2 machines at the same time?
I installed a dust collector switch in the empty space of the switch on the table saw. So I can have both machines on and off at almost the same time.
Very nice. At 6:03 you use a plane. Where did you buy it? I've never seen one like that.
thank you It is the Veritas Small Router Plane.

Can you make cuts over 24 1/2" with your set up?
yes it is possible
Can I ask what bench drill you use cheers
Maybe, it is Rexon dp2501a.
Can you please tell me where you purchased the measuring/marking tool that you use on 1:57? Thank you.
This multi gauge was purchased second hand. [Matsui] Japan / Scriber Gauge And the round template was purchased at a nearby stationery store.
@@carpentak thanks for responding so quickly.
Hello Mr Tak, where did you get the Koring circle template from?
I got it from a stationery store.
In your country? By the way, great work my frien
That's right. I got it from a store near my house. thank you friend
Hey man, can u show lift mechanism for your diy table saw on your right primary table saw please, thank u before
Yes, but I'll try it next time I have free time. I am very busy these days
Thank u man
Will you offer plans ???
I can't make a plan. sorry
Perché hai posizionato la bocca di aspirazione davanti alla lama quando I trucioli escono dalla feritoia posteriore ? Comunque ottimo lavoro.
Thank you. It's because the dust cover covering the saw blade of the table saw collects most of the wood chips, so the remaining dust that couldn't get out is blown to me. I put an intake on the back of the blade to absorb them.
鉋使ってるからびっくりした
if i make this, i build this frame to roof, and there have easy drop down if need. not good right side have big bar, how cut big sheet if have bar vertical at saw tableside.
Since my studio is small, I sometimes have to change the position of the table saw. So I made the table saw moveable and also clamped it to the side of the table saw to move with it. Since my table saw is portable, I cannot cut large sheets in the first place. So there is no situation where a pillar of this would interfere with my work.

Quem coleciona poeira?
Are there any plans so we could make something similar?
I can't make a plan. However, detailed photos are in my channel member community. Sorry, but membership is paid. It costs around $1.50.
Can you tell me the identification number or model number of the Koring template, please?
KORING Art. 840636
Brilliant design for dust extraction! You are obviously keen to keep dust under contoll, & so stop you from you inhaling it & thus creating long term lung side effects. However, using high pressure air to rid your cloth's & skin of dust is a big NO NO! as high pressure air can penetrate your skin & enter into your blood stream & can KILL you!, YES thats correct, high pressure air ito your blood can kill you!. How do I know this you may well ask, I live in the UK & am a certified Health & Safety consultant (also a long time woodworker), & in my time I've come across fatalites that were as a result of using high pressure air to blow off the dust from their clothes & skin. So please take care when you'r using high pressure air.
okay. I didn't think that. thank you
où rien comme d'habitude est laissé au hasard
Tak, you need to make your plans available to others to make use of your ideas. Such outstanding workmanship you process.
Glue, nails AND screws? Is this going to be the foundation of your house?
Gotta say that spells disaster, if while cutting you move the device by accident with your hand, elbow or wood and you will, that acrylic hitting the blade with you face in front is a scary thought. Some way to lock it in place will be necessary.
