Experience and wisdom, Tim your dad is superb. I’ve learned something watching this. ❤
Thats all i could hope for making this video. Thank you for letting me know
Just found your channel like a week ago Tim I'm loving it already. When I saw how nice your wheel wells were on the spring comparison video I wanted to watch how you got there assuming the restoration was recorded. Didn't take too long to find it but in the process I saw the title of this video and had to give it a swing. What a video. Dad comes in, says 5 sentences, points a finger here and there and saves you hours. The opposite can also be true from time to time when you might come up with an idea better than dad where he says something won't work but you still want to give your "novice" idea a shot. Nothing beats experience in the grand scheme of things.
Thank you. That was really heart warming of you. One day this will be my best video. Not because ots amy good. But because its one of the only recorded sessions i have with him
@@OEMplusRESTO I agree you likely will not have a much better video than this one on the channel. You managed to stop time and preserve a snapshot of a seemingly regular but important event that you, I and thousands of other guys that look up to their fathers and grandfathers experience here and there as time passes. Looking at them work as a kid was like observing a rocket scientist and 30-40 years later nothing has changed with the exception that now we're skilled enough to be told how to do something the best way and pops and gramps can just point a finger and observe the job being done like we did as kids. I'll be coming back to this video from time to time for sure.
I've been doing my best to learn what I can on my own time, but working alongside old hands has taught me *so much more*
One can cannot beat age, wisdom and experience. Cherish the time great video.
Thank you. It would seem you sre correct as well
That tap technique is absolute genius
As a fellow tech you will always get the best experience learning from the old heads and will always find out there are more ways to improve and approach things. Keep up the good work bro.
You are so right! Thank you for your input
Wholesome video from a genuine person. Your channel deserves more recognition.
Thats about as big of a compliment i can get❤️
nice that dad still can school you, as always nice vid.
💪🏽 pops had to show you a thing or two. Awesome video.
I can see that you 2 are very humble
It's such a nice feeling to wrench together with your dad. Awesome vid! So thankful i'm still able to do it too
Totally agree, What are you guys wrenching on?
@@OEMplusRESTO the 318is project 😄
@marcowouters3818 i like the progress on instagram. Keep going❤️
@@e30_318is_project its going to be one of the nicest around so im cheering for you
Your dad is a legend and im happy to see you continue in his footsteps and learning from him! Hope you share many more of these moments! And also glad you share it with us! They are priceless!
Thank you so much. Im glad this video resonated with you.
@@OEMplusRESTO it resonates with me even to the level where I understand his heart issues because I have it myself and haven't been able to get back to fixing cars because of lack of energy, and i am only 41. Still own my first ever bmw I bought here in Sweden, an e30 325i cabrio 5speed in zinnoberrot, still sitting in a garage with merely 130k km on it
And I used to work with cars ever since I was 16
@micheskillz thats incredibly honest and brave of you to say. Im sorry you have to deal with this. Can you hit me up on fb or ig perhaps?
Sorry for the life story, what I wanted to say we learn everyday especially from our elders, and also that you inspire me to get back to it
Blessings to this relationship and you and your father. My dad is elderly and has health issues, like yours. He’s no longer able to do much but can give advice. It’s honestly hard to cope with. We just have to cherish the time we have and love the memories that we’ve shared. By the way I really like both of your garages. These would be hard to find and outrageously expensive to construct and outfit now in the US.
Sounds like we’re in the exact same situation with time running out on us! Blessing to your family as well and thank you for the warm thoughts. Theyre much appreciated. The big garage is my dads. Its a pocket in time and where my dad taught me how to work on US cars. And yes everything has gotten so damn expensive:(
Super video som altid Tim. Fik mig til at tænke lidt indad. Altid en fornøjelse at se med!❤️ Ps. Du har en sej far!
That's a cool video, it deserves more views. Maybe the title could be more descriptive without becoming clickbait? Like "My father saved the day three times in one afternoon of wrenching"
Thank you. Its a good idea but im ok with it not having many views. Its mostly here to remind when hes no longer here, if that makes any sense
That's a cool story. Did you inspect the lsd clutches?
Sadly i didnt. I did have plans to but being i didnt have to take apart the diff for the fix i didnt get to. But they worked before and still work. For how long after i messed up, time will tell. But if anything fails it will be on me and not the conversion kit
