His level of competition is so low. Gerrard, Lampard, Scholes, Viera etc all competed against each other. Kevin De Bruyne one trillion percent has to be in all time prem 11. He’s literally the first name you put in all time midfield prem 11. The eye test will tell you that. Been the best player in this league for the last 6 years. Won more individually than all of them. He’s the greatest playermaker not named Messi. No one has gotten more assists than Messi in the 21st Century and KDB is second with WAY LESS GAMES. Best assist to mins ratio in the 21st century and prem history by FAR. Second to David Beckham to have scored the most goals outside of box (More than the goal scoring midfielder Lampard), back to back pfa player of the years (most for a midfielder and only him, Henry and Ronaldo can say they’ve gone back to back). 5 titles (possibly 6 by end of season), centurion, domestic treble, 3 peat, treble, quintuple. Also being the BEST PLAYER in one of, if not the best/greatest side this country has ever seen. Nostalgia and bias is a hell of a drug

Rory is absolutely right about Neville. He constantly belittles himself and portrays himself as an average player, which couldn't be further from the truth. I was worried that many people would forget about him and he wouldn't even get a mention. Although Gary wasn't as fast as Walker, his passing and crossing abilities were greatly underrated. He was also an exceptional leader who bossed that defence when needed.

Nah Neville wasn’t that good and was slightly overrated. No top club wanted him back in the time and he wasn’t good going forward. For a decade (2000-2010) there was a void of good right backs in league. He can belittle himself or do whatever but even back then I never thought he was anything special.

There's no proof in saying Rooney is a better striker than Kane. Also, idk why you're so willing to write off Kane compared to Shearer and Aguero. But I want a goalscorer as my STRIKER; a guy who scorers a lot of goals. The statistics, which are very very valuable in this regard, do not lie. I really enjoy it when rory speaks with ade you see a different likeable side to him but comparing pogba with KDB is a worst take then the haaland one.
When creating World XI, Prem XI or whatever it may be, it's really important to understand people's weighting behind certain factors. I personally, can never understand why people put so much emphasis and weight on trophies. Football is all about winning, obviously. But when it comes down to individuals, surely trophies won doesn't equate to individual brilliance/ability. For example, you could argue that Ronaldo helped United win more titles, which is the same as saying he won them X amount of points. Salah has potentially won Liverpool more points, but less titles, due to the nature of the different seasons. Ronaldo is in my XI, but the reasoning of Trophies for me doesn't hold enough validity. For others it might which is why understanding people's weightings towards those factors is so important.

You forget Paul McGrath won PFA player of the year for the inaugural season of the Premier League. He was the best centre back to ever grace the Premier League, fast, athletic, cultured, a fearsome marker and header of the ball and even selected in midfield for the combined world 11 Italia 90 if I remember correctly.

When you are one of the very few centre backs to have ever been made PFA player of the year in modern history, when Roy Keane says you are one of the best players he ever played with along with Ince and Scholes, when millions of irishmen put you ahead of Roy Keane - well the point I'm making is you deserve a mention.

As is often the case in these discussions, nostalgia is playing a very big role. The team is largely centred around a group of players who played in the same era and are mostly English. These same players played together and couldn't even reach a semi final at a major international tournament and English clubs tended to win the Champions League every 4-5 years. They just dominated the Prem at a time where it was a lot weaker. KDB isn't even in the Gerrard/Lampard debate, he's in the best PL player of all time debate. Rory said "do you know what Vieira did for that Arsenal team?", when KDB is the star of a better, far more consistent with and which had greater longevity.
It is Premier League XI for a reason and not World XI or International XI.
Well, it is called EPL All-time 11..yet you are talking of international tournaments. And then, you are talking of EPL being weaker. Its actually weaker now more than ever. It's just City alone with no one else. Do you know what EPL was like between 1998-2008?? Wenger's Arsenal, Mourinho's Chelsea, and Fergie's United. This was the era that sold EPL to the world and the competition was like nothing ever seen. Lads be thinking EPL is competitive now, yet the competition is at the bottom and around 4th-7th. EPL is very weak over the last decade, and thats why even Leicester managed to pull a miracle. People would throw in Klopp's Liverpool, but it baffles me how that so called great team has won one EPL title since Klopp arrived in 2014. Thats a decade with only one title. Lol.

Nothing biased about that comment mate. A few mentions though, and rightly so. Walker and KDB are in my squad. Yaya, silva, aguero, konpany all have MASSIVE claims to be in there too
City is like Madrid. They dont stick with players to cement the legacy. You are used at your peak and dumped for the next hot thing. Yaya was almost getting into this 11 until Pep arrived. Walker has been rotated and benched and all sort of everything under Pep. Even the just won Treble there was a time he was being benched. Silva and Kompany are great shouts, but whoever they are rivalling in the midfield are absolute monsters PL legends that played for over a decade at top level. KDB is the only serious candidate given that he is the only iconic number 10 PL has ever seen. But again, KDB is just pure talent and not all rounded. I would love to have KDB in the team, but the problem is "over who though?" Gerrard and Lampard and Viera. Gerrard is undisputed. KDB cant play 6 like Viera. So KDB can only replace Lampard. But Lampard numbers are ridiculuous.

Ive never seen Gerrard or Lampard get anywhere near Patrick Vieira in midfield battle when we come up against them. Gerrard got owned in the fa cup final and ghosted 2001. As for Lampard, he Parker and Makelele couldnt get near him when Arsenal knocked Chelsea out the fa Cup, Jose Reyes scoring two goals and sending Terry to the shops.

Now I am biased but Nigel Martyn has definitely got to be in with a shout. 21 Clean Sheets in a season (97-98 with 24 in all competitions) while not playing for a “top” team. Also the Premier League record for number of Clean Sheets in a season is Cech with 24 (only 3 more than Nige) and Cech had the best defence the league has ever seen that year. Also if you add the Clean Sheets for the 3 years Martyn was playing in Div1 before the Premier League started, Martyn would now be 2nd in the PL all time Clean Sheets Table. Martyn was also voted PFA Keeper of the year 3 years running. All while not playing for a Man Utd, Arsenal, Chelsea,Liverpool etc who all had better defences and their keepers had less to do a lot of the time, so for Nige to still be comparable in stats speaks volumes to me. Yes he didn’t win anything unfortunately but I always feel that’s more of a team achievement, but in terms of ability, I always say that Nigel Martyn is up there with the greatest ever Premier League Keepers, at least Top 5 in terms of ability alone. So my all time XI would be GK. Martyn RB. Walker CB. Ferdinand CB. Terry LB. Cole CDM. Kante RCM. De Bruyne LAM. Lampard RW. Ronaldo LW. Henry ST. Kane However the team that is made in this video is also correct.

When there are 0 Manchester City players in the All Time XI (the team with the second most titles) you know there is a bias, or even a disrespect to certain players. Kevin De Bruyne has to be in this. Kyle Walker has to be in the squad, and many more have to be shown more respect. I.e. Sergio Aguero, David Silva, etc.
You can blame it on Pep and City's sign and sell policy. City has no players rooted to the club for long compared to others. Players come at City and go quickly. The only names that can get into all-time 11 is KDB. The rest are just shoutouts but aint got no chance.

Arsenal always finished in the top 2 from his first full season in 1997 right up until he left in 2005. Won PFA in 2001, a period when Utd won 3 titles on the bounce. He often gets left out, imo because people usually glorify goalscoring threat above all else, but he dominated games and often came out on top in battles against Lampard/Gerrard/Keane.

It hurts leaving out the likes of Beckham, Giggs, Scholes, Lampard, Adams, Campbell, van der Sar, Kane, and all the other insanely talented, successful, impressive footballers, but that is the best XI imo

AB1 is the best ever, the amount of points we have won becuz of him, no other keeper has done. We won the CL bcuz of Alisson's save against Napoli. How many assists has he made and also that goal he scored in the last min was perfect. Hes SENSATIONAL.

Unfortunately the nostalgia ruins the credibility of the video. Don’t get me wrong, I get it. But, you can’t say that the best players to have ever played in the premier league all played 15 years ago. Football evolves and players are getting better.
It's also unfair to play the 'nostalgia' card when people pick those players, especially if you haven't seen them at their peak to judge which I'd hazard a guess quite a few people parading the "KDB is 100000000% in this team!" haven't. Football does evolve but world class players from 15 years ago would still thrive today in 2024. If you put Cole, Gerrard, Lampard, Henry or Rooney in this City team right now they would absolutely thrive.

In terms of attackers, I agree that Henry, Rooney and salah are the right 3 (kills me to leave out shearer as a Blackburn fan) in terms of who were better individual players. However, I think a front 3 of cantona, bergkamp and Shearer would beat them in a game, purely because of that creative magic of cantona and bergkamp being able to create an insane amount of opportunities for shearer, who just wouldn’t ever miss

Absolute king. He's JT but even better. Scholes has to start in CM - he controlled games, a playmaker as a 6 or as a 10, a freak, a joke, an absurdity on the pitch. Not to mention, 4 CL finals and 11 PL titles. Giggs - comparing goals is a false comparison, he was a wide left midfielder, a playmaker, a beautifully skilled player who made it to a CL final in his late 30s in CM. Assists galore, but control of the game. Gerrard is a great player, but not in this 11 - he had a good engine, and a lot of commitment, but he was not someone to control a game. It's Gerard or Lampard, similar players, neither were like Scholes. And, who would I want on my team? Lampard. Cantona deserves more credit, he should be in the 11 at 10.
