  • Man, video is next level brother! Great shots, that shot with deer bones and the shot at 9:22 is awesome. Loved how you used drone shots as transitional shots. Dude the disgusted look on your face when you had no coffee. Lol! And you called it ....a train did derail...and it dumped a crap load of Coors Light into the river. Mountain Wanderer not just a hiking legend...but a psychic. The More you know🌠

    • Thanks! I made a point to fly the drone every day, so I had all kinds of footage to work with. Kind of wish that I was downriver from the derailment, I would've been fishing beers out of the river!

  • I just viewed one of your videos for first time a couple days ago. It was one featuring the Salmo-Priest loop that you hiked with Joey. When your channel's "About" info stated you were from the Rockies, I had a hunch the portion of the shining mountains from which you hailed might be in Montana. After nearly four decades of wanting to live in the state (a late friend originally from Troy who was a logger on the Olympic Peninsula in the early 1970's first put the bee in my bonnet about MT) I finally acquired a portion east of Clinton through which the Clark Fork flows. I don't have another four decades remaining, so hopefully I can get my butt moved over there while the legs will still carry me, albeit noticeably slower and not nearly as reliably as they once did. In the meantime, I let a Wye business guy hunt the place, since he was already doing so before I purchased it. There's a story featuring a flaming RV and an interesting coincidence behind the manner in which I learned that fact. Are you also a hunter sir?

    @willong1000@willong10006 ай бұрын
    • I'm not quite in Montana, but close! Montana is one of my favorite places! No, I'm not a hunter.

      @mountainwanderer@mountainwanderer6 ай бұрын
    • @@mountainwanderer Oh, my mistake. I thought you said something about driving to the trailhead after work, and I jumped to an invalid conclusion 🤔😖that you lived fairly close to that stretch of the Clark Fork.

      @willong1000@willong10006 ай бұрын
    • it would take me 70-80 minutes to get to that trailhead on the Clark Fork.

      @mountainwanderer@mountainwanderer6 ай бұрын
    • @@mountainwanderer I got that. After your previous reply, I already figured that you were either a panhandle man, a rabid hockey fan* (and player too, perhaps) or one hell of a speed demon!😁🤣 (Seeing as Montana finally caved to the feds on previously eschewing a set speed limit. I remember those freedom-loving days between 1995 and 1999 somewhat fondly. However, truth be told, I have a difficult time even maintaining the speed limit these days, especially at night and with inflated fuel prices thrown into the calculus! All I can say about getting old is that it beats the alternative, from my present perspective at least! ) * Haven't heard a single "ah-boot" in your narration so far, nor a sentence concluded with "eh?" that would lead me to seriously think you a Canuck; but, I suppose you could be an expat.

      @willong1000@willong10006 ай бұрын
    • Sometimes I sound Canadian, but I am 100% American. And you're right, in the Panhandle! It's a great place to live for adventuring. With I-90 right here, I can jump on that and easily get to great places in the Montana and Washington. Or if I don't feel like driving, my own valley is outdoorsman's paradise. Though I will admit that since Idaho is more about forests than roads, it can take a while to get to a trailhead here, even in my own county!
